Come now Tom, DDR aside, you can't possibly believe Torres is deserved of a spot on that list.

I don't think DDR's name would be out of place on the list. I don't think it's any injustice that it's not.

Those lists are a load of bollocks; by the criteria they seem to work by, Torres doesn't strike me as a surprising inclusion. If you are going to weight pretty disproportionately what a player's teams have won in the given year - which such lists and awards invariably seem to do - then Torres's inclusion makes sense. Torres completely deserves his spot on a list that is a load of bollocks at its very heart.

How you can be both the butt of jokes, on the list of top 10 worst transfers of all time and on a list of Europes greatest players, all in the same year, is a joke.

Anyway, I love the way the focus is on Lampard or Torres and not on Davies - his inclusion shows you how diriculous it is to put any store at all by that list.

Davies inclusion is explained. Torres is an example of the reoccurring problem with those awards. Sometimes I wonder if it's done simply so FIFA/UEFA voting is consistent across the board be it POY or WC host selection.
