Yes lomba the midfield is the problem, we see what happen as soon Motta left and we could have board Poli for only 5 million but i dont know if he would solve the problem. Why we never buy Poli remain a mistery theres something we dont know ,maybe is soundnesss .
Inter chief Massimo Moratti has laughed away Lucio’s claims that Juventus have won 30 Scudetti. “It was an act…”
The Brazilian defender rescinded his contract with the Beneamata earlier this month before signing for arch-rivals Juve on a free transfer.
He then infuriated Nerazzurri fans by suggesting that Juve should not have been stripped of two Calciopoli titles – one of which ended up at San Siro.
“Those don't sound like serious statements to me,” Moratti told reporters outside of his Milan offices. “Come on now, that was part of an act.
“Now that he's with a new club it's clear that he's trying to make them happy – or has been told to make them happy – in this way.”
The oil baron was then quizzed on transfer matters, starting with Mattia Destro – a summer transfer target who Genoa suggest they will sell to Roma instead.
“It's terrible,” Moratti responded with a smile. “I'm truly broken up over all of this...”
Inter have also been linked with Sao Paulo’s Brazilian star Lucas, a man who is valued at around €30m.
“Let's see about Lucas,” he added. “But it seems to me that there's some pretty serious auctioning going on, so…
“Are Inter in the hunt? Yes, we are. But I'd prefer to see something done right or not at all.”
Luc Castaignos is reportedly set for a return to Dutch football this week, with Inter set to receive €7m for his sale.
The youngster joined the Nerazzurri last term from Feyenoord, but struggled to assert himself in the senior side. At the end of the season, the 19-year-old confirmed that he would be leaving the club and expected it to be in the form of a permanent transfer.
Linked with a number of outfits subsequently, Dutch media believe that the forward will be returning to the Eredivisie, with a deal with Twente reportedly on the verge of being completed within days.
Algemeen Dagblad report that the player’s preference for Twente over other interested party Sporting CP was key to the deal’s progression.
Inter will reportedly receive €7m for the youngster, who scored once from six League appearances last term, marking a €4m profit on the amount they paid for him a year ago.
As far as I know, Inter were willing to keep Castaignos and wanted to loan him for a year, but the guy seems to be too proud to accept a loan as a way to measure his skills. So reluctantly we have to sell him, even though most are sure his value will soon be doubled or more in a couple of years time.
These purchases and sales have come in to save the team's overall budget costs (which we all know), but surely this point towards us looking forward to the creation of our new stadium? We cannot afford to get world class players anymore until this stadium is built. Sure we haven't rebuilt the squad with a lot of younger players, but we are going to try and be as competitive as possible with these signings with the aim of qualifying for the champions league and earning those bonuses for competing in Europe - I do not feel confident with these aspirations just yet. We should expect a period that Arsenal had when they were building the Emirates Stadium. Although they had scouted some young and fantastic players at that time, and got good money out of them too. Unfortunately, they haven't had much success in recent times. Let's hope we have a more positive outcome.
INTER-FERENCE: TRANSFER INACTIVITY LEAVES NERAZZURRI COLD / Posted on Tuesday 17th July 2012 / by Sam Lewis
“Am I worried about Destro going to Roma? Yes that’d be terrible”. Massimo Moratti wasn’t being sarcastic. After seemingly leading the race for the Siena starlet for most of the summer, it now looks like what was thought of as a forgone conclusion is heading to one of their biggest rivals.
It isn’t just an exception either. Inter’s current spell in the window has been quiet to say the least, mostly spent attempting to offload most of the remaining members of Mourinho’s treble winning squad of 2010. As a result, La Beneamata seem to be falling behind in races they’ve led for some time.
The Paulinho deal that had been mooted as a medical away from being a signing, has stalled. Andrea Poli, who at just 22 is held as one of the bright sparks of the Italian game and was one of Inter’s more promising acquisitions in January – walked out of the club, the Nerazzurri opting not to pay the €5m that was agreed 6 months prior. The Sampdoria man now looks to be on the way to Napoli or Milan.
After leading talks with Napoli star Equeziel Lavezzi since before the season ended(even prompting market sellers to fashion Lavezzi shirts and offer them to punters, such was the confidence in the Argentines arrival) Inter fans saw the winger leave for the richer, and importantly more persistent PSG.
This comes a year after the club dropped out of the race for Alexis Sanchez, another player who seemed destined for San Siro only to leave for Barca last summer.
The idea of Mattia Destro being snatched away at jaws of arrival by fault of negotiability is not a shock to the Nerazzuri faithful, merely another in a long line of similar incidents. The fact that Destro was an Inter youth product before being let go only serves to twist the knife in further, and highlight another fault of the current set up at Appiano Gentile.
Is it purely fiscal? It definitely is part of the reason; similar to cross city rivals Milan, who have elected financial security over keeping star players, Inter struggle to gather the funds that were so close to hand in Moratti’s early years of presidency. Gone are the days where the oil baron can nonchalantly break transfer records for big name strikers, and with the lack of Champions League football next season – the cash cow appears to have left to graze on different fields.
In addition, the ominous shadow of Michel Platini and Financial Fair Play on the horizon has dictated that financial frugality be the order of the day; meaning that like Milan, Inter first need to clean house. The likes of Maicon, Stankovic and Julio Cesar are no longer untouchable legends, living reminders of European and domestic dominance. They are now figures on an accountancy report, and a stick to be beaten with by the UEFA head honcho.
However, the lack of emotional sentiment the Nerazzuri have chosen to raise funds comes as a result of decisions that have gone before it, leaving Inter with little other choice. From the lack of investment to maintain and revitalise a winning squad in the summer of 2010, to the loss/release of youth prospects like the aforementioned Mattia Destro, Davide Santon, or Leonardo Bonucci, not to mention the sale of Mario Balotelli(whose sale became nearly unavoidable, but the exit of Mourinho could have persuaded the striker to stay), has left Inter needing to spend big to cover losses that could arguably have been avoided.
There is an Ancient Greek proverb – “A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.” Although thousands of years old, it can be applied to the Italian giants. It is evolution, not revolution that makes clubs continually successful – Manchester United’s youth centered policy has ensured that cores of teams that were once thought untouchable are slowly phased out by a stream of youngsters, numbing the blow of lost legends with the creation of new ones. If Massimo Moratti was the old man in the metaphor, a more appropriate image would the business man standing with a smile on his face aiming a flamethrower at a forest while simultaneously throwing seeds at an empty field.
Instead of slowly building and shaping a new side, Inter have cashed in on the players they need to do so, and now face a situation where they need to buy for positions they could have had covered for free. Instead of phasing out the more experienced Senatori on an annual basis, Inter have chosen to try and force them out once, leaving them less time to chase players that have been earmarked to lead a new era. Meanwhile – arrivals over the last two years have been less than impressive. Diego Forlan, hardly a long term solution at 32 – was entrusted with the task of replacing Samuel Eto’o but his short stint at Inter was a seemingly constant stream of injury and club mismanagement, notably the administration error that left the Uruguayan left out of the club’s Champions League squad. Mauro Zarate has been left clubless after another season of mediocrity and mood swings, whilst promising and much hyped youngster Davide Santon was swapped for the defensively frail Yuto Nagatomo, whose performances so far at San Siro have ranged from decent to truly dreadful. Rodrigo Palacio and Freddie Guarin are promising purchases, but only the latter can be regarded as a long term investment – at 29, Palacio is far from the bringer of a new beginning that Interisti crave.
With clubs all around the peninsula looking to the future, from Roma and Juventus’s renewed faith in young Italian talent being matched with increased spending on foreign players to the success of the Spanish national side leaving teams analysing internal structure like never before, the necessity to catch up is all the greater. With a new, young manager looking to incorporate new ideas and begin a fresh start at Appiano Gentile, Inter run the risk of failing to fund their own ambitions.
Inter pushed past both Milan and Juventus, winning the Trofeo TIM mini-tournament with Philippe Coutinho, Rodrigo Palacio and Fredy Guarin on target.
This was the final 45-minute match of the Trofeo TIM at the Stadio San Nicola in Bari. Inter had beaten Juventus 1-0, while Milan lost their meeting with the Bianconeri by the same result. A win garners three points, but when decided on penalties it’s two points for the victor and one for the losing side.
Kevin-Prince Boateng unleashed a dangerous curling snapshot from the edge of the box that Inter goalkeeper Vid Belec had to flap out from under the bar with one hand. Esteban Cambiasso charged down a Stephan El Shaarawy shot with his face.
Matias Silvestre did brilliantly to stop Luca Antonini in his tracks when clear down the right, while Rodrigo Palacio and Diego Milito combined to set up Philippe Coutinho for an effort straight at Marco Amelia. Palacio surged forward from a Milito through ball only to hit the side-netting.
It was Milan who took the lead thanks to quick reactions from El Shaarawy. The Little Pharaoh anticipated Cristian Chivu in the box and was also sharp to prod it past the on-rushing Belec from eight yards.
If the game were to finish like this, all three teams would be level in the Trofeo TIM on three points each.
Inter equalised when Palacio turned provider, going down the right and whipping in a cross for Fredy Guarin’s powerful header from six yards. It was his first goal in a Nerazzurri jersey.
The Nerazzurri changed the game around completely, as Palacio burst through the centre past a slow Francesco Acerbi and smashed the right-foot angled drive past the goalkeeper into the far bottom corner of the net.
Inter win the tournament on six points, followed by Juventus on three and Milan on zero.
