Tachtsidis will join Roma, say Genoa

Genoa have confirmed that a deal has been done with Roma which will see Panagiotis Tachtsidis move to the capital.

“It has been agreed, Tachtsidis will go to Roma in a co-ownership,” Genoa CEO Pietro Lo Monaco told Sky Sport Italia.

The 21-year-old has been specifically requested by new boss Zdenek Zeman who, while in charge of Pescara last season, was impressed with the player’s form at Verona.

Julio Sergio, Viviani, Stoian, Tallo, Crescenzi

Cant understand Crescenzi's absence. All the reports indicated he had a great season with Bari and with the Azzurrini and was one to watch, yet for Zeman not to even call him up to have a look at him? Quite strange. Unless he's involved in a transfer deal or has been promised to someone or something? Disappointing.

Curci, Crescenzi, Antei?, Viviani, Brighi, D'Alessandro, Tallo (and De Rossi, Borini, etc.). The conspicuous inclusions? For one thing, the number of players there - LE was much less accommodating. Then, for me, other than the two young keepers, Romagnoli, Greco, Okaka, and then the old guard - Simplicio, Pizarro, Borriello. Only, I suppose, because last year - the first time I really attended properly to the conspicuous exclusions - LE was rather more ruthless. Perhaps I also expected another kid or two.

Sorry, thredz, your post came in as I was ruminating on my own question. JS is in Brazil, apparently, recovering from injury. Stojan, yes, though he, as with one or two of the others, has been strongly linked with the deals in the offing (for Tachtsidis or Bradley, I forget which). I'm pretty sure you will have news on Crescenzi fairly imminently which will console you - either injury or a deal to take him away from the club for a season.

Antei is injured and so wasn't called for training yesterday.

On Curci, from the Note: Goalkeeper Gianluca Curci was withdrew from this afternoon's training session with a muscle strain and will undergo tests tomorrow as a precautional measure. Therefore he will not travel to Brunico with the rest of the team; he will join them after his injury has been assessed by Roma's medical staff.

Viviani will be loaned out for experience. Don't know about D'Alessandro, guess the same. Obviously Zeman doesn't think Tallo is ready yet.

AS Roma and Vitorino Gabriel Antunes Pacheco have agreed to rescind the player's contract, which was due to expire on 30 June 2013.

Tomas Svedkauskas has joined AS Roma from Lithuanian club FK Suduva on a permanent deal. The player has signed a five-year contract. (he didn't come from Fiorentina as i previously thought, rather he was on trial with them and they didn't sign him).

Nego, Piscitella, and Guberti are interesting, too. I suspect D'Alessandro is lining up a Guberti career - they remind me of one another as players. A pity. It'd be nice if all the young, quick, technically gifted kids you get to see coming through were to make it.

Lots of Crescenzinisti on here. I haven't seen him all that much. What about him leads you to believe he's ready to contribute to the team? Is he a good crosser? Tuck inside guy?

Does he fit ZZ's system well? Is so, in what way?

Not asking for an article but any insight would be appreciated.

i'm guessing crescenzi's exclusion has to do something with his lack of technical ability. that was also LE's complain, i think. which isn't to say that i'm not disappointed. if cassetti has enough technical ability to fly for zeman, so can alessandro, no?


i read a number of pieces about piscitella going the other way in one of the deals too. pigliacelli was long rumored to be joining parma or udinese.

which leaves tallo, nego, and guberti.

guberti was almost the only positive about the 2010-11 sampdoria side. but then, he himself said, last year, i think, that he wasn't interested in coming back. i don't think that was the case this season, so i'm not sure why he's not included.

tallo's exclusion seems the strangest to me. didn't we just pay 1m for half of that kid? he's too old to play for the primavera with the new rules, so now i guess we're looking to offload him, or send him on loan, a week after we signed him?

nego i guess just wasn't judged to be ready enough. it's interesting, someone's comments about nego being the new Faty and angel being the new helguera may hold some water. oh, and, since nego is 21, he'll have to be loaned out, too.
