Zeman continues to claim that Totti should have played all his career as an out-to-in left-sided forward; he insists Totti would have been kicked rather less had he done so. Let your 'Heskey' take the kicks and let Totti get out of the way of challenges because he can see them coming - that seems to be the principle. Who knows? I certainly don't.

Sure; that he'd play Delcecchio there tells you something about the kinds of things he looks for (or, at least, looked for) from his centre-forward, no? Osvaldo could probably play that way, though, of course, he was signed by Zeman to replace Vooch as the out-to-in leftie. I'm guessing that he'd be interested in Destro to contribute a comparable mix.

Oh, I see, you mean at Lecce? Zeman signed Osvaldo when he was at Lecce? Interesting. He could have a loyalty toward him that could be important to note, especially if the club do want to sell him this summer in order to recuperate some of the big fee we paid for him.

So where do you think Totti will play, on the left, or in the centre? Does he have the legs to play on the left?

No question he viewed Totti circa 14 years ago as a left sided player. But now? Who knows. I was unable to ever watch much of Zeman's Roma. But old and hobbled seems anathema to zemlandia.

He would have kept him out wide in order have him avoid becoming what he is today.

Interesting, Red. I have to say I haven't seen a whole lot of Destro, and indeed have asked the Interisti here just how good is he. He certainly sounds like a player who would fit nicely in the middle of Zeman's three-man attack.

Romawi was asking what our budget would be for the mercato, well this says there's €30m allocated. More than enough to buy at least one defender, anyway.

Esplicito il comunicato della società: «Il consiglio è stato informato sulle recenti operazioni di mercato e sull'attività svolta dalla Cushmann e Wakefield in merito all'individuazione dell'area dove costruire il nuovo stadio». Entro domani infatti l'advisor dovrà presentare una short-list di candidature che vede Tor di Valle perdere consensi e La Rustica guadagnare posizioni. Definito anche il budget di mercato che dovrebbe aggirarsi sui 30 milioni.

Bojan Eager To Start Work With Zdenek Zeman

Roma forward Bojan spoke with Sky Sport on Friday morning about his thoughts for next season and on new coach Zdenek Zeman. The 21-year-old revealed that, although last season was a disappointment from the team's perspective, he felt that he learned a lot during his first season in Italian football and is ready to step on this season.

"Last season was like an apprenticeship. I came to understand many things. By the end, it was a good season that helped me. I don't want to think about next year and about a possible return to Barcelona - I am only thinking about this season that I am starting with Roma".

The forward added that he is eager to start working under new coach Zdenek Zeman, who he has heard many good things about.

"I can hardly wait to start working with him. All the fans and team-mates talk very highly about him. He plays an attacking game and this cannot do anything but make me happy, and it has also given me great enthusiasm".

A lot will ride on this season for Bojan, as Barcelona have an obligatory buy-back clause of €13m that they must trigger next summer. If Roma want to sign Bojan permanently, they must pay an extra €28m, though it is highly unlikely that the Giallorossi will not attempt to negotiate this figure.
