Napoli do Pandev deal with Inter

Napoli have reportedly agreed a deal with Inter over the permanent transfer of Goran Pandev to the Stadio San Paolo.

The Macedonian international moved south last summer on loan and did enough to convince the Azzurri of his ability.

Pandev, 28, was not assured of a starting shirt but still ended up with six goals in 30 League appearances for Walter Mazzarri’s team.

According to Mediaset, Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis and counterpart Massimo Moratti held a telephone conversation last night.

It’s understood that a fee of around €8m was agreed.

The two clubs could do further business this summer as the Nerazzurri are very interested in signing Ezequiel Lavezzi.

The Argentine, however, is also wanted by French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

I'm hoping so, but as Lomba said even if we don't get Lavezzi out of this its a good move to clear out his high wages.
Speaking of high wages, talk is that Galatasaray might be our heroes and take Chivu off our hands by offering him higher wages than what we'd offer him in his new contract.

Perhaps the real problem, kros, is that these players don't consider Serie A a top league in the way you do. Having a shot at the Chumpions League with PSG presumably has its appeal for some and it'd be pretty easy to argue that the French league is at least on a par with a Serie A on the wane.

And, while the league may be better, I see no reason to think Inter are going to be a more worthwhile team in than PSG in the next few years.

Maybe, but inter will always be inter; tradition, magic, passion. Anyways enough from me on lavezzi. Good player but not so great to waste tears over. Time only can tell who made the right decisions.

Lavezzi has characteristics we need and he is also proven in Serie A. But his price was well above what he's worth. Football is all about money and while I'm sure he would have rather come to Inter given the same offer, I'm afraid we couldn't match PSG, economically speaking. Sure one can argue about tradition and all that, but money beats all that. We keep seeing these examples over and over again.
Now let's see the alternatives.

"L'Inter costruirà uno stadio così". E' questo il titolo a caratteri cubitali con cui il Corriere dello Sport lancia il dossier esclusivo sul nuovo stadio nerazzurro. Dopo l'anteprima internazionale di FcInter1908.it (primo sito in assoluto a svelare i dettagli dell'incontro di Massimo Moratti con il capo della China Railway Construction Corporation), arrivano conferme sulla volontà del presidente dell'Inter di costruire uno stadio di proprietà, senza attendere il via libera della legge sugli impianti.

Il dossier che tra poche ore troveremo sul Corriere dello Sport, a firma Andrea Ramazzotti, parla di uno stadio da 60.000 posti simile all'Emirates, nuova casa dell'Arsenal dopo l'addio a Highbury. "Il progetto partirà entro l'estate", scrive Ramazzotti, mentre Antonio Maglie spiega il perchè di questa brusca accelerata da parte del numero uno interista.

"E' l'unica strada per restare al vertice", scrive Maglie. "La Juventus, almeno in questo caso, si trasformerà in un esempio. Tanti presidenti hanno provato ma nell'estenuante attesa di una legge nessuno è riuscito a raggiungere il traguardo finendo con l'accentuare una debolezza economica che si trasforma in perdita di competitività sportiva".

"Grandi gruppi sono pronti a sostenere Moratti in un'impresa che i club italiani hanno affrontato con timidezza eccessiva. I ranking della Deloitte (per il 2010/2011) dicono che il Milan, primo club italiano per ricchezza, è solo settimo in Europa (nel 2005 era terzo). E la differenza è tutta nello stadio: il Milan incassa 35,6 milioni, il Real 123, il Barca 111, il Manchester United 120, il Bayern 72, l'Arsenal 103,2, il Chelsea 74,7".

Frank, according to that article, works could start as of this summer, but we have a contract with San Siro till 2015. So we're not moving before that.

Kros, Forlan's wage was a mistake we are trying to desperately solve now. We dont have the 'single-transaction' cash amount Psg is offering to Napoli and we are not willing to match Psg's wage proposal either. We have been ttying to reduce wages for everyone these past couple of years..so I couldnt imagine a decision shift for Lavezzi. As we've said more than once, Lavezzi is a very good player but not worth the hassle.
