Hey Lomba are you sure we talk about the same player ? Longo have tecnic and speed to sell ,you may be talking about Bessa . no one know if longo is going to be a first team player ,but have all the credential, the same can be said about Destro ,could be a provincial team player,if is to be an inter player or a big team player have to be seen
There really seems to be enthusiasm about our prospects in this session's transfer market. First Moratti saying they will do something that will please the fans, then Stramaccioni (more than once) and now even Sneijder saying that the club will move to reinforce the team. It certainly pleases my ears to hear something which has been missing for a good 2 years...Hope it's really true this time and I'm assuming they already have someone in the bag if they are this convinced.
With Zarate and Forlan leaving and possibly Pazzini, Palacio would be a good replacement. A cheaper(er) option as a back up but I am expecting more. We definitely need at least one more top class striker, we can't rely on Milito to deliver 25-30 goals every season.
Former Genoa Coach Pasquale Marino explains how Rodrigo Palacio will fit in at Inter. “He can cover different roles.”
Today Genoa President Enrico Preziosi announced an agreement was in place for the summer transfer to San Siro.
“He has proved his talents as a hitman despite the difficult season at Genoa,” Marino told radiosport24.
“Palacio is a joker in the pack, as he can express himself at a high level both as a first and second striker.
“At Inter he can cover different roles, it all depends on the tactical system. He can start out wide on the left or even as a trequartista behind the two strikers.
“He really does provide a multitude of options and I am sure he’d work well with Ezequiel Lavezzi too... The only problems would be for those who have to mark them.
“Palacio is a great professional and a great worker, so it is always a pleasure to train him.”
Netherlands captain Mark van Bommel has urged international team-mate Arjen Robben to reconsider his Bayern Munich future after the forward was booed by club fans during a friendly at the Allianz Arena.
The Oranje were beaten 3-2 by Bayern just three days after the Bundesliga club lost out to Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League final.
Robben, who missed a penalty against the Blues, came on as a 75th-minute substitute for Netherlands against his club side but was jeered by sections of the crowd.
And Van Bommel was furious at the treatment he received.
"It's absolutely outrageous how the fans treated Arjen Robben," the midfielder told Voetbal International.
"You only have to look at what he has accomplished there. He scored a penalty against Real Madrid in the (Champions League) semi-finals.
"People seem to have forgotten that. They should be pleased to have such a player.
"A large part of the German crowd booed their own player. That cannot happen.
"If I was Arjen, I would start thinking about whether I still want to play football there, even if my contract has just been renewed.
"Arjen is very strong mentally, and comes back stronger each time after every setback. I don't know what Arjen is going to do but this is a disgrace."
Robben recently signed an extended deal with Bayern until 2015, but Wesley Sneijder says he would be welcome at his current employers, Inter Milan.
"The reaction from the fans was scandalous," said Netherlands midfielder Sneijder.
"Not only that, but over the last few days no-one at Bayern has defended him. By doing that, they're shutting him out.
"Arjen has had a very disappointing evening. If it was my decision, he'll come to Inter this summer."
What do you guys think? I don't think we have the money to get all the players mentioned there. I don't know much about Silvestre and I don't want De Jong here (he is a one dimensional player IMO). Isla should be the only real target IMO.
Will we even be allowed to field that team. Who is Italian in that line up lol? If we sell Maicon, we might be able to get Isla (Jonathon as the sub?) and we already have Palacio. Not sure about purchasing the rest, as you said, we won't have enough dough. Also, why no Nagatomo on the left?
Inter have confirmed the arrival of Rodrigo Palacio, but Genoa President Enrico Preziosi reveals “Roma made a better offer.”
This evening Palacio was spotted leaving the Nerazzurri headquarters and director Marco Branca told waiting journalists: “It’s done. We can say Palacio is an Inter player.”
Genoa patron Preziosi had announced the deal earlier this week and has now given a little more background to the move.
“I did everything I could to keep hold of Palacio,” he told Radio Manà Manà. The transfer is believed to be worth €11m.
“He had three wonderful seasons with us, giving his all on the field and off it. Inter don’t know what a great bargain they’ve got.
“I signed Alberto Gilardino in January precisely to form a great strike partnership with Palacio, but then this is the way it went.
“Roma actually made a better offer, over €2m more than Inter’s proposal, but I had shaken Massimo Moratti’s hand just three hours earlier.”
Preziosi also stated there were “no negotiations with Roma” for Alexander Merkel or Andreas Granqvist.
Genoa are yet to decide on their Coach for next season, as Gigi De Canio rescued them from relegation when taking over in the final weeks, but Gigi Del Neri has been strongly linked with the bench.
“I am leaning towards confirming De Canio. There is a degree of gratitude, but also the awareness he can do well here. Next week we will resolve the issue on the Coach and a new director of sport.”
Summer has arrived and it's definately time to think about the transfer market. We've seen a huge number of players being linked to us, 90% of which ain't true for one reason or another. Let's see who's staying, who's going and who could be our real objectives for each department. Goalkeepers. Sure to stay Castellazzi. Retired Orlandoni. Julio Cesar is said could leave but IMO he will certainly remain. If he leaves it will be Viviano. 3rd goalie IMO will be a primavera - Di Gennaro. Defence. Sure to stay Samuel, Nagatomo, Zanetti & IMO Ranocchia (we have spent too much on him to let him go now and lose our investment). Maicon is doubtful for the single reason that if a good offer comes, he's a goner and Maicon does have some decent enquiries. Though I beleive he'll stay - 85% at least. Sure to go Cordoba (retired), Lucio (officially demanded a transfer, probably back to his homeland to fight for a WC place in 2 years time) and Chivu (contract ended and Inter aren't willing to renew for what he's demanding) and Caldirola (will be inserted in some deal). Faraoni is a doubtful. He doesn't seem to be liked much by Stramaccioni and could be included in a deal. Sure to come - Jonathan (back from loan). Possible new entries - This is difficult. I haven't heard much about our targets in defence but one real objective could indeed be Silvestre, who is quite similar to Lucio but doesnt go gung ho in attack like Lucio..Juan should also be regarded as a new entry here since he has yet to play a game for us. Some primavera could be tested too. Midfield. Sure to stay - Cambiasso, Stankovic & Obi. Sure to go - Palombo. Sure to come - Guarin & Poli. I have included these in the newcomers due to the fact that they will be bought in this transfer session. Also one should mention the return of Mariga. He had an excellent 3 months with Parma last year before incurring an injury which ended his season. Objectives - I beleive Strama will play a 3 man midfield not a 2-men like GDS says. Therefore we need at least one more important figure in there. I beleive our real objective in midfield is this Paulinho who currently play for Corinthians in Brazil. Seems like our scouts have been particularly impressed by this 24 year old midfielder who is both physical & and has an excellent playing tempo and a rare incursion skill. He is supposed to play in the hole in front of the defence. If not him, someone with similar characteristics. Attack. Sure to stay - Milito, Alvarez. Sure to go - Zarate & Forlan (hopefully) Doubtful - Pazzini & Sneijder. These 2 will leave for the right offer but there is definately more interest from the club to sell Pazzini as he is redundant to Strama's tactics. If Sneijder is sold then we will buy someone to replace him. Much will depend on what kind of Euro 12 he will play. Also one needs to mention Pandev. IMO he will not return to base. Sure to come - Palacio & Coutinho. Palacio has already been officially confirmed & Coutinho returns after a brilliant 6 month loan with Espanyol. In this category, I will go as far to also mention another name. Mattia Destro. For various reasons, this deal should be sorted out by next month IMO. Possibilities - We've heard a lot about Lavezzi, but I doubt this is true. First of all with Palacio & Destro together with Milito we already have a serious front 3 formation so no need to invest so heavily in Lavezzi. Also I think Napoli would rather sell him for cash to PSG rather than Inter who'd certainly include other players in the deal. Lavezzi would rather remain in Italy but PSG are offering a contract quite better than ours.
So something like this should be next season's squad list :
Rodrigo Palacio “can’t wait” to get his Inter career started and wants Ezequiel Lavezzi to join him. “With Pocho we’d be truly stellar!”
The Genoa striker has agreed a transfer to San Siro worth around €11m, where he will reunite with fellow Argentina international Diego Milito.
“I reach Inter at the right time,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “I am so happy to be here. The club wanted me last season too, but the important thing is I got there in the end.
“President Massimo Moratti and Coach Andrea Stramaccioni really impressed me. I am 30 years old, so it’s the perfect time to arrive at a big club like this. Inter are the best I could’ve hoped for.
“I already know many of the players. Milito, Pupi Zanetti, Esteban Cambiasso, we all go back a long way. We often met up on international duty with Argentina.”
There could be another Argentine in the mix, as the Nerazzurri have made no secret of the fact they are trying to sign Lavezzi from Napoli.
“Inter are already a great squad and I can’t wait to play with Milito or even Giampaolo Pazzini, who really impressed me when he played at Sampdoria,” continued Palacio.
“If Pocho were to arrive too, then we’d be truly stellar in attack! Paris Saint-Germain are interested in Lavezzi too, but I really hope he can come and join us at Inter.”
‘Trenza’ is already looking forward to two games in particular next season.
“Derbies fire me up and I have played quite a few in my career, often being a protagonist. I even scored a hat-trick once...”
Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar shot down transfer rumours. “I am staying and I want to win the Europa League.”
The Brazilian had to pull out of the team’s trip to Indonesia due to a back injury.
“Many rumours circulated this season, but they are totally unfounded,” said Julio Cesar on SportItalia.
“I never received an offer and above all have a contract with Inter until 2014. I want to end that on a high, winning the Scudetto and Champions League.”
At least one of those targets will have to wait, as the Nerazzurri are only in an early preliminary round for the Europa League.
“This season has not gone very well and we tried to the end, but now I want to win the Europa League. It is a trophy that’s missing from my CV.
“When I arrived at Inter nobody really cared about the Coppa Italia, but only after we won it did the trophy rediscover its prestige and now everyone wants to lift it.”
The club is reinforcing for next term and have already secured a deal for Genoa striker Rodrigo Palacio.
“I am happy at Palacio’s arrival, as he is a great striker and he’ll find a marvellous atmosphere here at Inter,” added Julio Cesar.
“Will Wesley Sneijder stay? I don’t know, you’d have to ask him.”
