Some reports that Curci could be in line for his first appearance of the season against Juventus as Stek has the flu (and Lobont still has a dodgy ginocchio), but he as normal so should be well enough to start. Still looks like DDR could be in defense alongside Kjaer, despite some reports that he'd be moved back to midfield. Borini should start despite not partaking in full training.

I think Vucinc would have failed in LE's system.He has the technical ability, but in his life Vucinic was never a team player.One of most selfish I seen. And for his technical ablity & creativity, his assist numbers been very poor when compared to likes of Cassano, Totti, Miccoli ( 11 this year), Lavezzi etc etc.

Even Edzo. who was Vucinic's number 1 apologist, admits that the man is basically a medocrity as far as a player. He had his moments at Roma, but in the end, he was nothing special. One thing is that I think we were all fooled by him because nothing in his personality in the first few years at Roma indicated that he was not a team player. He never caused trouble, never demanded higher wages and appeared to be well liked by his teammates. I remember he and his father begging for Roma to get him out of Lecce so maybe there was some degree of appreciation at that time.

Whether it took a while for his true personality to come to the surface or whether we simply overlooked something is anybody's guess. Now, it is abundantly clear that he is a very self centered and selfish man. I don't know what he has given to rubentus this season, but it ain't much. At least we got rubentus to overpay for his sorry ass and now they are stuck with him.

While my opinion of Vooch was in precipitous decline I dont think his game is any more selfish than say Ozzy. In Lucho's system you pass or don't play.

If a player is selfish to the point of refusing to get his teammates involved I view it as a failure in coaching. He's either not being told what to do or the Mister isn't in control of his playrs.

For all our many critisms of Lucho, both real and imagined, I've never heard anyone suggest that their are any sacred cows who are above the team. The minute he allows such things he should be sent packing. The setup is dependant on the "all for one" approach.

I think Vooch is more selfish than someone like Osvaldo for three reasons, DCG - his movement off the ball is almost non-existent (he doesn't run to create space or passing options for others); his decision-making is terrible and some of his passing is very careless (so he gives the ball away very cheaply when he can't make something happen himself - rather than looking after possession properly for the team); and his head goes down when things aren't going his way (so he's not a leader who will carry the rest of the team by taking responsibility, standing up when things go awry). A gifted individual player, then, but not a team one. I will never forget Spags's comments on Vooch after the 7-1 defeat at Old Trafford: among all else that might have been said, he suggested he'd thought Vooch could do a job as a the vice-vice-vice-Perrotta - never again, though. It spoke volumes, I thought, on Vooch's work-rate and on his willingness to play a role for the team.

Fair enough Maro. I think circumstance plays a big role. I'd bet had Borini, Bojan Ozzy etc. been on the team and Lucho been the coach, he'd have run more. Better to run more in games and practice than simply run in practice.

That being said, give me 11 Simone's and I'll be proud of the shirt.
