'A project' is not an excuse for the shambles we have witnessed at Lecce, Siena, Cagliari, Atalanta. Our away record is abysmal, we would all be prepared to be patient BUT only if there were signs of promise - is there? Barely. The defence still hasn't been sorted out.

That wasn't a comeback, that was two late consolation goals which done nothing but put some respectability on the scoreline for anyone who didn't watch the match. There's no hiding from the fact that we got thumped 4-0 by a very average side who will be in Serie B next season. No excuses, it was just an all-round terrible team performance and we made too many mistakes and never looked like team who could threaten the opposition goal for a period of time, and LE has to take all the responsibility for that.

Also, in the dressing room after the game there apparently was a heated argument between some of the older more senior members of the team and the younger players, particularly Stekelenburg who had a shouting match at Lamela for not working hard enough.

So what is exactly the problem with our defense? Is it that our CBs are just not good enough, or is the problem with the midfield and front three not covering back quick enough when we lose the ball? A combination of both maybe?

CBs are not really up to the job, but I've said it before and I'll say it again: our FBs cannot defend. At all. It's never nice to say such things about your team, but particularly on the right, we're very poor. The attacks might not always come from that direction, but I think that poor positioning leads to everyone running around like mad trying to cover.
