Yeh I agree with Red. It was a 50/50 call in which the refs would usually give to the defending team, but I don't wanna cry about it like other teams do. We didn't lose this game because of the ref.

but would you rather have him do it now, when there are so many variables at stake, or once there is some stability to the club?

he's already proven himself to be capable of management, just let him open his wings a little more before he comes in for the final landing in rome.

Montella said in the summer he wasn't yet ready for a big job like Roma. He done well in his caretaker time for us, but it was different because he knew it wouldn't be a permanent position and so wasn't really planning for the future. With that in mind, I would hope that's why he'd turn down any advances from the likes of Inter (although its unlikely he'd be offered that) or a club bigger than Catania (Napoli were rumoured should Mazzari leave, or Parma). He's doing well at Catania and should stay there for another season or two. He's already on course to bring them to their highest ever Serie A position. I agree that he will be back at Roma some day in the future, but who knows when.

Interesting point about LE and the "Barca shine"... I wonder if the society would be as patient if it were a young Italian manager who was trying new things much like LE? (say even Montella himself, had he been given the big chair permanently). Its not only the Barca effect, but it does also come back to how Baldini and the others said they wanted to bring someone in from the outside, someone completely 'untainted' by the methods and madness of your stereotypical dull and defensive calcio, and someone who would take a fresh approach and bring a brand spanking new and exciting mentality to our football to match the ambitions of our fancy filthy-rich Yanky doodle dandy owners. LE certainly fitted that bill, and then some.

I would say untainted means much more than defensive tactics. Youth and positive approach etc. Notice how every manager who leaves Italy has little wish to return.

If LE was italian, he wouldnt be getting this much hate from roma fans and italian media.Everybody wants him to fail badly, then I visit every roma forum its all about " I was right, LE sucks".

the man is exceeding expectations.I love it how biased he is for youth, and looking for the long term then your typical italian manager looking for the now and only the now just to crash later.

Thanks. Before the game, I expected Milan will get a penalty.It has been the case all year with them. The penalty didnt exist, as heinze was fouled in the play before.
I think we would have hold on the win if it didnt happen.but thats Milan for you, cheat there way for the win.then argue the other side didnt deserve the win.

But our new management decided not to speak about referees this year,and unlike previous years we have suffered alot from refs errors this year as we are unprotected.
If you go to the media, do a mourinho & speak bout refs you give yourself some protection at least
