What would changing Ranieri benefit? I'd rather keep him till the end of the season and have someone ready from june. But for once, this someone needs to have the backing of the club as otherwise we're back to square one once agsin..

No one will ever have the backing of Moratti. Actually scrap that, Mourinho would have the backing of Moratti, no one else will. I don't think we will ever taste success again unless Moratti leaves or starts spending money wisely.

Is this some kind of a joke that I don't get? We are the complete opposite of this. Our approach in CL games has always been poor. We struggled in the group stages even the year we won it with Mou.

Ranieri: Champions League is Inter's natural habitat
The Italian coach believes that his team has the correct mentality to play in the Uefa competition, which he described as more open than Serie A in terms of playing style
Inter coach Claudio Ranieri says that his side feel more comfortable in the Champions League than in Serie A.

The Nerazzurri are currently seventh in the Serie A standings following a three-game losing streak, while they will take on Olympique de Marseille in the Champions League Round of 16 after finishing at the top of their group.

"At first, we had better results in the Champions League than in Serie A," Ranieri told France Football.

"The game is more open in the Champions League, while it is more closed in Italy.

"When I arrived [in September], we could not be 100 per cent focused on Serie A. However, we immediately won our matches at CSKA Moscow and at Lille.

"I believe that this team has its natural habitat in the Champions League. Our players have a lot of experience in this competition, so they approach the matches with the right mentality and focus."

Ranieri also took the time to praise Marseille coach Didier Deschamps, saying: "He deserves to coach a big Italian club."

Inter were unfortunate last night. They played well and looked very comfortable throughout the 90 minutes, and Marseille never really threatened Inter's goal at all, yet in football you can be punished for one seconds drop in concentration. In fact, Inter were so comfortable at the back you really should have done better at the other end and pushed on to get that vital away goal, but of course cautious Ranieri never committed to many players forward. You can still win at home, but it could have been a lot easier.

Yeh, it was a little surprising by Ranieri to see Zarate start in place of a more defensive minded player like Nagatomo or Obi. Cambiasso had a good game and is still a good player, but Stankybitch was terrible. How many times did he lose the ball? Sneijder, in fairness to him, actually looked like he cared and tried hard, which was also surprising.

Ranieri wins tame Inter backing

Inter President Massimo Moratti has raised some doubts about Claudio Ranieri’s long-term future at the club.

Speaking outside his Milan offices on Friday after the side’s fourth straight loss in midweek, Moratti was asked if the club would stick with Ranieri.

“Let’s try to move forward with him, then we’ll see what happens,” he told journalists. “It’s a difficult moment, but it will pass.”

Ranieri replaced Gian Piero Gasperini in September when he signed a contract at the Stadio Meazza until June 2013.

Following a run of seven straight wins in Serie A, the Nerazzurri are again struggling after collecting just one point from the last 15 available.

They also lost the first leg of their last 16 Champions League tie to Marseille on Wednesday in a game which ended 1-0.

Reports today are suggesting that the Italian giants are now looking to attract foreign investors, but Moratti insisted that is not a priority.

“We'll think about those things in due course,” he responded. “For now we’re focused on the sporting issues.”

Inter offer €20m for Guardiola!

Spanish newspaper Marca claims Inter are ready to offer €20m per season in order to sign Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola. The Spanish Coach has refused to say whether he will renew his contract with the reigning World and European club champions.

In turn, the Nerazzurri want someone able to fill Jose Mourinho’s shoes, having gone through numerous tacticians since The Special One left in the summer of 2010. According to Marca, Inter have prepared a package worth €20m per season in order to tempt Guardiola towards Serie A.

Meanwhile, reports in Italy continue to suggest Claudio Ranieri will be fired if Inter lose on Sunday evening against Napoli.

This has to be pure BS! But, knowing Moratti nothing surprises us. No money for players but excessive amounts on managers. Why Guardiola? He has the best squad in the world. That's why he has been successful. It doesn't mean if he comes here we will win the Scudetto next season. Pure lunacy.
