To me it clearly seemed like a psychological problem, at least in yesterday’s game. Usually a team like Inter goes down to win the match, thinking only about winning, whereas to me it looked evident that the team had more fear of losing than determination to win. When you see all those shots on goal and somehow the ball doesn’t get in, that means that it’s all lack of determination.
Obviously one can’t not mention the fact that with T.Motta on the pitch, we won 7 games on the trot, whereas when he was missing, we didn’t win one. Coincidence? I really really doubt it..Anyway, as much as I hate the fact of losing out on next year’s CL and it’s money, it quite serves our management right for thinking we have some sort of divine right to qualify and challenge no matter what we do during transfer periods.

The tweets of Inter fan Rossi

Moto GP rider and Inter fan Valentino Rossi has questioned the market moves of his beloved Nerazzurri.

While watching the Beneamata’s shock 1-0 home loss to Novara on Sunday, he tweeted numerous messages.

“Why did we sell Thiago Motta?” he wrote after the Brazilian-born Italian international was allowed to join Paris Saint-Germain last month.

He also raised doubts over how wise it was to let go of Samuel Eto’o to Anzhi last summer.

“The decision to replace Eto’o with Diego Forlan was like the one to get rid of Roberto Carlos for Alessandro Pistone.”

Despite the loss, Rossi seemingly didn’t lose his sense of humour.

“Oh, I understand. Those playing in white are Real Madrid, not Novara.”

While at the end of the game, he stated: “I wouldn’t want to be Massimo Moratti’s ashtray this evening.”

Inter have had a dreadful start to the second half of the campaign after suffering losses to Lecce, Roma and Novara.

Their only point from the last 12 on offer came in the 4-4 home draw with Palermo.

‘Villas-Boas right for Inter’

Inter will be Andres Villas-Boas’ next destination should he part company with Chelsea, says the President of Porto.

Villas-Boas made his name with the Portuguese club last season before his summer switch to the Premiershit.

However, the 34-year-old is experiencing some difficulties at Stamford Bridge and a split could be on the cards.

“If Villas-Boas leaves Chelsea then he will be the next boss of Inter,” Jorge Pinto Da Costa told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“He has the right profile to coach the Nerazzurri. It is the same thing I said about Jose Mourinho when he moved to Chelsea.”

Inter did make an unsuccessful approach for Villas-Boas in the summer before they eventually hired Gian Piero Gasperini.

However, the latter was quickly sacked and replaced by Claudio Ranieri. Nevertheless, his position is now in doubt after collecting just one point from the last 12 on offer.

Moratti anticipates gradual change

Massimo Moratti has again reiterated that Inter’s troubles will only take time and patience to fix, in an address to supporters.

After recording seven consecutive League wins not so long ago, the Nerazzurri have returned to a negative momentum similar to that experienced at the start of the season.

In all competitions the team are without a win in five and have lost four of those. This run of results included the club’s first instance of conceding four goals in consecutive League matches, whilst it is 65 years since La Beneamata have recorded as many League defeats by the 23rd round of matches played.

“Let's talk about serious issues regarding our champions,” began the President at an Inter fan-organised event in Varese.

“Obviously I can't be very pleased with the way things have gone recently, but this is a team that has won so much and if they have won so much, it means the players fitted together well as a team and were also exceptional as individual players.

“We have become used to these players and we have also become used to each one's individual style, so it isn't easy to change them, because you'd have to find another player of the same standard and you wish you could find the same player when he was younger.

“It is difficult to find a model whose pieces you can change one by one, in order to have what you originally had straight away.

“So you can and you must do it slowly and calmly, and during this gradual transformation there will be times when things don't always go right.

“That's what's happening now, just like at the start of the season.”

Ranieri: Conte is wrong

Claudio Ranieri does not follow Antonio Conte’s assertion that only Juventus are suffering at the hands of referees this season.

After having two penalty appeals denied against Parma on Wednesday night, Conte delivered a post-match complaint to the Press that his Bianconeri are victims of referees unwilling to award them such decisions.

In his own news conference the next day that was otherwise for looking ahead to Inter’s Friday meeting with Bologna, Ranieri took time to assess Conte’s claim.

“The referees are afraid to award penalties to them?” he began. “Then with Inter they are terrified.

“With us too they have been wrong. I do not agree with Conte.

“I lost to Novara, and have been quiet with no excuses, the important thing is that the referee designator is not influenced by those who raise their voice.”

Wow, that was some spanking by Bologna. Surely Ranieri won't last much longer. I feel a bit sorry for him, its not really all his fault. Who could come in to replace him?
