You might say there were chances, and siena's keeper did well, but I didn't feel there were clear cut opportunities.

Anybody else here not surprised by the result?? Juve choked it away. If they don't win the scudetto, we can look back at this game and wonder what could've been. Im not even worried about the scudetto, its very close at the top 3 and if Juve continue to draw games like this all it would take is a weekend of bad results and Juve collapse, again. Its very possible Juve lose out on the CL if it continues like this.

Fagg, Does it matter? They tied regardless if I saw the game or not. I didn't watch the game because I cover every other weekend which is why I only talked about the result, not the game itself. If I had known me watching the game wouldve given Juve 3 points, I wouldve called in sick. What excuse you got this weekend for our beloved players? The ref? The slight difference in air pressure?

We didn't play a bad game. It's hard to create clear chances when the other team plays 10 men behind the ball. Their keeper made some great saves on top of it. We pretty much played the whole game on their half of the field. These games aren't won on paper. The ref kind of screwed us over at the end, we deserved a penalty.

Juve absolutely dominated, siena barely had a chance to breathe, and the one time siena had a chance we should be happy buffon managed to stay awake to make the save.
But that isn't enough to win games and I found that the chances they did have were poorly executed. And its not just matri.
I'm not liking the ex-roma boys, vucinic does create but he is sloppy and tries to do too much, borriello was a pointless buy.
Quagliarella needs to start. Plain and simple.

And yes, we should have had a PK, it was clear and the ref was an absolute retard, but who gives a shit, it didn't happen. Let's not be like briz and the other inter fans whining week in, week out about refs

I'm not whining, but it's understandable for our management to whine. They're trying to pressure future refs to make make-up calls, but it could hasve a reverse effect.

Vucinic had a couple chances he should've put away, but he's coming back from an injury so he might be a little rusty. Conte could've started him on the bench.

I think we'll have a much better game against Milan on wednesday.

Dominated??? Who cares?? That doesn't get you points. Know what does? Score more points than the other team. Juve controlled their destiny with a win the and now face a MUST WIN vs Milan. You could've taken a tie at this point but now they must win.

It's a little more complicated than just "scoring more points than the other team". It's not basketball or football. Our game against Milan this weds is a coppa Italia first leg. But if it was a league match, it certainly wouldn't be a must win. We won our home game against them. I'd be happy with a draw because we'd still have the head to head advantage.

Juve admit to minnows problem

Juventus director general Beppe Marotta has admitted that his team do struggle to breakdown teams who primarily opt to defend. The Old Lady were held to their fourth home draw of the season against Siena on Sunday. That 0-0 followed ties with Bologna, Genoa and Cagliari.

“We’ve drawn with four mid-table sides, teams who are not amongst the top outfits,” Marotta told Radio Rai on Monday. “This demonstrates that we do have problems in getting through these defences. However, I do think that Serie A is the most balanced championship in Europe.”

While Milan have a player like Zlatan Ibrahimovic to resolve games, it is said that the Turin giants lack a star-man who can win a match on his own.

“The statistics speak for themselves as we adopted a policy of rejuvenation at this club,” the official added. “Within a year and a half we changed 19 players from 24, so there are only five players from the old management.

“It is clear that the players of great value​​, the talents of the game, are rare and involve significant financial investment. “Our first job was to work on quantity, then quality this year and we will see what we do next time…”

Returning to the 0-0 with Siena, Marotta was yesterday very critical of the decision not to award a penalty to Juventus for a Simone Vergassola handling offence.

“I just wanted to highlight the fact that there needs to be more attention when deciding which referees are given which games,” he added. “I’ve always said that the big teams need to have the best and most experienced referees. Certain games need experienced officials and a referee who knows how to handle difficult situations.

“Look at players. If you have talent then you can play for a big club when you are 16, but players who are not that good are sent out to smaller clubs to gain experience. It should be the same for referees.”

Marotta was also questioned about Ibrahimovic’s red card in the 0-0 draw with Napoli – as a possible three-game ban would see him ruled out of this month’s Milan-Juve tie.

“The game against Milan is important and boss Antonio Conte will prepare for it in the manner he always does, no matter whether Ibra plays or not.

“The disciplinary body will decide how long Ibrahimovic is banned for. Experience tells us that it will be two or three games for this type of incident. But I don’t want to get involved in this situation.”

No shit we need to score one more goal than the other team. If it was that easy than we would have 22 wins. There are various circumstances and conditions that occur in each game that make winning easier or more difficult. Siena may be a relegation battling team, but they're also in the Coppa Italia Semis. They're capable of a good performance, and they had one yesterday.

Ibra's out for 3 matches, which means he'll miss the game against us. I'm sure they're going to appeal it, though.

And how many times this season? This team is better than that, that's my point. They constantly play down to other team's levels. You're going to encounter more games against smaller clubs throughout the season vs the big game, which Juve always rise to the challenge. They play the big game bigger than they're supposed to but play the small ones even smaller. Juve plays 8 games against a top 4 team a season. Those results are somewhat irrelevant if they draw or even lose. It is drawing against teams they should win that is going to kill this team. You have to defeat Siena at home or put some goals in the net. This is an unacceptable result given how much space they would've created at the top. I'll give it to them, they really don't win/lose the game late a whole bunch which we've seen over the past 5 years. The game is pretty much won/drawn in 60 minutes. No dramatic wins, no dramatic losses. I'm tired of disappointment and its been a really, really disappointing few years.

I thought JI made the point about basketball/football, I misread the user.

Good result.

Can't say too much about the performance, as I only had half an eye on the game.

Looked quite open - certainly more open than I'd have allowed the game to be.

Still, Juve being the more athletic team looked more capable of taking adavantage of that openness, even if the final ball frequently left a lot to be desired.

Still don't like 3-5-2. Feel Juve would have had more control playing 4-3-3/4-5-1 and been able to take Milan on in midfield more. As it was there was rather a lot of penaty box defending to be done as there wasn't much resistance to Milanprior to the final third of the pitch.
