So, that means no DDR, Burdisso, Cici, Cassetti, Pizza, Osvaldo and Okaka. What is the story with Pizza? He only returned from Chile during the week, right, but has he patched things up with LE or is an exit still likely?

More on Okaka/Borini, its that Okaka has signed a new four-year extension to his contract, and that we've exchanged half his ownership for half of Borini with Parma, suggesting that we still believe Okaka could have a future with us while still gaining experience out with Parma.

This sounds very promising. According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, DDR's agent Nicola Berti met with Baldini late last night and the outcome is that "DDR is on the verge of renewing with Rome":

Importanti novità arrivano sulla vicenda contrattuale di Daniele De Rossi. Even if he's 'made up' with LE, Pizarro hasn't trained with the team for a couple of weeks now, so I expect that's why he's still out.

I hope that's true about DDR being about to sign. We have heard this before, though.

I thought I seen a picture of Pizza training with the group this week, even one were he was smiling and looked happy, but I could be wrong though. Anyone know why he went home to Chile for family reasons?

Roma captain Francesco Totti scored two early goals in Saturday evening's clash with Cesena at the Stadio Olimpico to surpass former AC Milan striker Gunnar Nordahl and take the crown of the highest scorer with a single club in the history of the Italian league.

Totti's goals, which came in the first and eighth minutes of the match which Roma lead 3-0, were his 210th and 211th for the club. Nordahl's record, which he set with Milan before moving to the Giallorossi, had stood for over half a century, until Totti's second goal on Saturday.


The club captain, who made his first team debut for the Giallorossi in 1993, may have taken 229 games longer than the late Swede to reach the 210-goal mark, but that shouldn't take away from his magnificent achievement.

The former Italy international has overcome serious ankle and knee injuries to still be playing at the age of 35, and he has three-and-a-half years remaining on his deal with the club, meaning there could still be many goals to come from the star No.10.

'Il Capitano' made his first appearance for the club on March 28, 1993 in the final few minutes of the 2-0 win at Brescia, and scored the first of his 211 goals just a few weeks before his 18th birthday in the 1-1 draw with Foggia at the Olimpico on the opening day of the 1994-95 season.

Since then he has racked up double figures in 12 Serie A campaigns, including the last nine in succession, and his 26 strikes in the 2006-07 season saw him awarded the European Golden Shoe for the greatest goalscorer on the continent.

That achievement came in his first season without international football since he'd made his Italy debut in October 1998, following his decision to make himself temporarily unavailable to Azzurri coach Roberto Donadoni. In the summer of 2007 he announced that he would make his international sabbatical permanent in order to devote more of his energy to Roma, and the reward has been a further 60 goals in four-and-a-half years.

Okaka officially on loan to Parma:

Da tempo si parlava di una possibile cessione di Stefano Okaka al Parma. Adesso il passaggio è stato ufficializzato: l’attaccante è stato acquistato dalla società emiliana a titolo temporaneo con diritto di riscatto. Okaka è già a Bologna insieme ai suoi nuovi compagni, a disposizione del suo nuovo allenatore, Donadoni. Nei prossimi giorni il giocatore verrà presentato ufficialmente.

Questa è la comunicazione pubblicata sul sito del club emiliano: “Il Parma fc comunica di aver acquisito dalla Roma a titolo temporaneo con diritto di riscatto l’attaccante Stefano Chuka Okaka. Il giocatore si è già aggregato al gruppo a Bologna. La data della sua presentazione ufficiale sarà successivamente comunicata”.

On Saturday Roma smashed Cesena 5-1 at the Stadio Olimpico, topping off a series of highly convincing performances.

The attacking football the Giallorossi displayed is the kind former Milan and Italy coach Arrigo Sacchi is known to approve of, and he praised Luis Enrique’s team in an interview with Mediaset Premium.

“I’m happy when I see Roma play,” he said, “because they amplify the horizons of our understanding of football. They’re a team who play a different football, based on ball possession and it’s very offensive.

“Luis Enrique does this using a lot of young players as well. So this Roma team really makes up for some things we are mostly missing here in Italy. When you play offensive football, it’s normal for younger players to emerge.”

Roma are currently in 6th place with 30 points, though they may be overtaken by Napoli tomorrow.

Mi hanno parlato bene di lui come allenatore, grande voglia, grandi stimoli, ha ottenuti grandi risultati con la Nazionale..», ha risposto Totti alla domanda su un eventuale posto in azzurro.

Il capitano della Roma, nell'intervista al Tg1, dice poi di non essere stupito della sua condizione fisica («A 35 anni di solito dicono che si va in discesa, io invece... sono in salita. La cosa importate è una vita sana, essere un professionista») e di essere «contento di quello che ho fatto e soprattutto di quello che farò».

In prospettiva, Totti spera di «arrivare a giocare fino a 40 anni». Quanto alla Roma, il capitano definisce la sua squadra «giovane, divertente e che vuole vincere», ora una «novità del campionato perchè ci sono vittorie su vittorie». Infine, una battuta sugli Oscar del calcio, premio che Totti assegnerebbe all'attaccante del Milan Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

I guess that's for him to know. To have your name written on that trophy is a big deal. Being THE player at a pretty big club is a huge deal too.

Watched parts of the match yesterday on my DVR. Was surprised at how many of our players a competent with two feet.

If you have it, watch Pjanic's goal. Unleashes with the right,it's parryed and then a well placed comfortable shot with his left.

He take a really nice shot with his left in the 10th also.
