Apparently Caprari wanted to delay his move to Pescara so he could play in todays primavera Coppa game. He should do well there, Zeman still plays with three strikers and so he should fit in nicely in his system. It looks like is going to be a loan until the end of the season with an option to buy half of his contract.

DDR a major doubt for the Cesena game on Saturday with a , he likely will return for the Coppa Italia game against Juve next Tuesday, although his condition will be further evaluated within the next 24 hours. Osvaldo also returned to light training with some jogging.

Piece from the Corriere dello Sport on Florenzi, Crescenzi and Antei and how we have more promising young players on loan and not just in our primavera side who whipped Milan 6-1. All three are part of the Azzurrini training camp and all talk of a return to Rome, but are glad for a chance to gain valuable first team experience. Florenzi also talks about how he's being playing "da esterno" – on the outside, as in on the wing, I think?

(Corriere dello Sport - R.Boccardelli) - l futuro della Roma ieri giocava su due campi. Uno era il campo A del Fulvio Bernardini, dove la Primavera ha strapazzato il Milan per 6-1.

L’altro era il campo della Borghesiana dove la Nazionale Under 21 di Ciro Ferrara ha affrontato in amichevole l’Ischia Isolaverde. In campo in maglia azzurra c’erano Florenzi, Crescenzi e Antei, tre giocatori di proprietà della Roma che stanno facendo esperienze importanti non solo in Under 21 (...)

TRASFORMATO - Chi sta giocando e molto con la maglia del Crotone è Alessandro Florenzi: 16 presenze (tutte da titolare) e 3 gol con la squadra calabrese. Il centrocampista classe ‘91 in questi mesi ha saputo gestire non solo la partenza da Roma e il difficile salto di categoria, ma anche un cambio di ruolo. «Non ero abituato a giocare da esterno - spiega l’ex capitano della Primavera giallorossa - ma ora mi trovo bene e sono contento delle possibilità che questa nuova posizione in campo mi sta dando». Anche perché giocare con continuità è il passo principale per sperare di tornare a giocarsi le proprie carte a Roma. «Per ora non ci penso. Voglio fare bene a Crotone e poi vedremo se avrò un’altra opportunità»

REALISTA - Chi sembrava poter avere questa possibilità già in questa stagione era Alessandro Crescenzi, partito in estate per il ritiro di Riscone di Brunico, ma poi mandato a farsi le ossa a Bari. Crescenzi non si fa illusioni per il futuro. «La politica dei giovani della Roma? Si dice così tutti gli anni, ma per il momento io penso solo al Bari. Quest’estate ho fatto una scelta perché volevo più possibilità di giocare e non mi sono pentito» . Anche perché il Bari gli sta regalando anche continuità con l’Under 21. «Ho giocato già una quindicina di partite in azzurro. Ferrara mi sta dando una grossa opportunità»

TITOLARE - Anche Luca Antei, difensore centrale del Grosseto, sta trovando spazio nella prima esperienza lontano da Roma, lui che solo tre anni fa giocava con i dilettanti del Tor di Quinto e che nelle ultime sette giornate di Serie B è sempre partito titolare. «Mi sto trovando bene anche se abbiamo qualche problema di squadra. Ho avuto un impatto forte con la nuova categoria e mi sto abituando piano piano» (...) «Ho saputo che Caprari andrà a Pescara. Sarà un’esperienza importante anche per lui. Il nostro obiettivo però rimane sempre lo stesso: poter giocare con la Roma».

According to , DDR's agent Sergio Berti wants a minimum-fee release clause of €10m in his clients contract, which our management will apparently agree with just to get it done. Seems like a very odd figure to insist upon.

And no doubt Italiamia's absence can be explained by the appearance of outside Trigoria to pay tribute to his favourite former club presidente.

ROMA - Fargli saltare la gara col Cesena di sabato, e rinunciare a malincuore al suo apporto anche nella sfida di Coppa Italia in programma martedì in casa della Juventus, per non aggravare i problemi fisici con cui convive da oltre un mese e correre il rischio di perderlo più a lungo del previsto. Questa la scelta condivisa da staff medico e tecnico della Roma per quanto riguarda Daniele De Rossi, costretto a convivere suo malgrado con un'infiammazione all'adduttore destro. Il mediano giallorosso, che ieri aveva interrotto l'allenamento per il persistere del dolore, oggi è stato visitato a Viareggio dal professor Gemignani, responsabile dello staff medico della Roma. De Rossi, accompagnato in Toscana anche dal procuratore Sergio Berti che sta seguendo la trattativa per il rinnovo del contratto in scadenza a giugno, è stato sottoposto a trattamenti fisioterapici e accertamenti strumentali (controllo ecografico e risonanza magnetica) che hanno evidenziato un conflitto tra muscoli dell'addome e dell'adduttore, alla base del dolore nella zona inguinale. Insomma, un principio di pubalgia a tutti gli effetti che preoccupa non poco medici e allenatore: Luis Enrique, infatti, ha sempre ammesso di tenere in considerazione solo giocatori pienamente a disposizione.

Le scelte di Luis Enrique. Per questo, l'input a Trigoria è adesso quello di non gestire, ma curare De Rossi, tenendolo a riposo per i prossimi impegni ravvicinati. Il giocatore continuerà quindi la terapia di cura nel centro sportivo a base di onde d'urto e sedute più intense di fisioterapia. Le luci dei riflettori, però, continueranno a essere puntate su De Rossi nonostante la sua assenza dai campi.

Il contratto. Entro la fine del mese, infatti, la Roma aspetta la risposta di Capitan Futuro all'ultima proposta di rinnovo messa sul tavolo dal direttore generale, Franco Baldini, costantemente in contatto con l'agente Berti. La fumata bianca che tutti i tifosi romanisti aspettano, comunque, sarà subordinata al via libera che dovrà arrivare dal Comitato esecutivo composto dal presidente DiBenedetto (atteso nella Capitale all'inizio della prossima settimana), dal socio forte James Pallotta, e da Paolo Fiorentino (in rappresentanza di UniCredit). Il Comitato, infatti, come specificato nell'ultima relazione finanziaria annuale della Roma, «è tenuto a deliberare in merito ad atti di natura ordinaria e straordinaria al di sopra della soglia di operatività dell'amministratore delegato, in particolare per contratti di natura professionistico/sportiva superiori a 7,5 milioni di euro, con impegno di pronta relazione al Consiglio di Amministrazione», che si riunirà un paio di giorni prima dell'assemblea dei soci, già fissata per fine gennaio.

Some interesting and rather humble words from LE in his conferenza stampa today, saying he's not quite deserving of a new contract just yet. Well, either that or he's not sure if he wants to stay in the crazy chair for that long.

Enrique delays contract talk

Roma boss Luis Enrique has told the club that he still needs to prove that he deserves a new contract. The outfit yesterday confirmed that they had proposed an extension, but the tactician insists that such talk can wait.

“I still have a year and a half left on my present deal,” the Spaniard said in his media conference before Saturday’s game against Cesena. “That’s an eternity in football. I still have so much work to do to illustrate that I should be given a new contract. The club’s offer was incredible, but I’ve told them that now is not the right time. After all, I can lose four games in a row and then I’ll be considered an idiot. I’m thinking just of Cesena.”

Roma entertain the relegation-threatened Seahorses at the Stadio Olimpico at 18.00 hours local time on Saturday. “Cesena have some important offensive potential,” the former Barcelona B boss continued. “They have quality players like Mutu, Eder, Candreva and Parolo. It won’t be an easy game. I expect to face a dangerous team, but I want to see a Roma side who returns to playing high rhythm football in order to get back to winning.”

Roma are seventh in Serie A – 11 points behind leaders Juventus after last weekend’s game with Catania was abandoned due to heavy rain with the score at 1-1.

“The weather only interfered with the second half,” he added. “The first half started well, but then we started to make errors. We played a mad game, without control.”

Roma are expected to be without influential midfielder Daniele De Rossi against the Stadio Manuzzi minnows. “I hope he isn’t out for too long, but I do think that he could be ready to return relatively quickly,” Enrique continued.

“I don’t know if he’ll be available tomorrow. He’s suffering with an injury that won’t stop him playing, but one that is causing him pain. It’s important that he can work without pain and we need players who are only at 100 per cent. Let’s hope it is nothing serious.”

As for LE's contract, I agree with him, it's not like there's a pressing need to get it done right now.

Hopefully the Cesena game tomorrow is more inspiring than last season's opening day fixture. We should be okay for a win tomorrow even without DDR (sign that bloody contract!!)

While Morrison does appear to be a nasty piece of work, I suspect a lot of his problems would be solved if he moved away from Manchester and all his mates.

Not going to say Roma should sign him, though.

It's just that one can't help but suspect he must be pretty damn good if Ferguson hasn't booted him out of the club for his various misdemeanors.
