Ibra's delivered in the Derby in the past, for both teams that is, so I don't think this is a justified shot at him, as much as I think its fair to criticize his record in Europe.

That said, Pato is a useless punk, I've lost the count of times this idiot lost the possession for us. He's absolutely got nothing in his bag except running into acres of open space utilizing his pace, what a waste. His decision-making is horrible.

Stats show that most of the time we drop points is when this idiot starts. This is not a co-incidence, even when Robinho misses sitters like he usually does, our team is better off, more compact and creates more chances when he's on the field. Allegri blew the XI by starting Pato instead of Robinho.

Inter played like any minnow plays us in San Siro and just sat back and hit us on counters and capitalized on Abate's mistake. We didn't play very well but we easily dominated this game and definitely did not deserve to lose. But we fortunately had the zebras draw...before this weekend I thought we'd draw the derby and they win their game so we'd -2...as it is we're -1 and I'm not worried about Inter, they will end just like any Ranieri team end their season...we'll just have to get this one out of the way, move on, and I think we'll be just fine.

even though we were devoid of ideas the entire game, i was surprised that inter parked the bus from the first minute. you'd think that they would try to attempt to make a game of it. even their counterattacks was usually just 3 man beyond the half-way line, i didn't really expect that. so then you realized that it was their gameplan, but ranieri comes out and says [post-match] that they weren't expecting such a gift of a goal so then you sit and wonder what exactly inter's intentions for the game were? if they were just going for a draw, abate's howler was an early christmas gift for them.

sack-less cunts is what they are. but i always think that the final result is always deserved, so credit where its due blah blah.

but fuck allegri and his functional milan. we should be raping teams that play a 4-4-2 with no pace on the wings or wingers on the wings for that matter. this is just a fucking joke from allegri.

we haven't defeated any of the top 6 in the league, we are 0-2-3 against them which is a pretty amazing statistic. allegri's strategies are being shown up by the stronger teams, and it will probably bite us in the ass in the end.

And it always amuses me greatly when people bleat about the other team's negative tactics, as if playing defensively is cheating or some sort of underhand way of playing.

Ultimately, despite barely bothering to attack, Inter scored, had a goal wrongly disallowed and Alvarez missed a great chance.

I thought Inter deserved the win.

Possession means nothing if you don't create.

Most of Milan's possession was unchallenged because Inter were happy to let Milan have the ball until they reached the final third.

And if the game had finished 0-0, the coverage would have been focused on Inter's wrongly disallowed goal.

Should Inter, with their slow players, have let the game get stretched and allowed Milan to cut them open?

Inter played a good, solid game and Milan were stupid enough to let them win.

Milan could do with learning to sit back and wait for opportunities instead of just banging their head against a brick wall and conceding on the break.

inter's "wrongly disallowed goal" was a complete 50/50 decision that could've gone either way. it wasn't a blatant injustice that was called offside, motta (i think) was barely in line with the last defender when the ball was kicked, to call it a favor for milan would be a gross exaggeration. ranieri nor any of their players brought it up afterwards, usually inter are always singing the loudest note when there is a referee error against them, in this case they have been completely mute. even our resident inter fan, briz (aka zafferano) was happy with the refereeing. lets not make a mountain out of a mole hill.

and you're right about the useless possession, hence the animosity towards allegri. sitting back and countering was inter's game-plan, but their goal was a complete fluke. it wasn't a masterstroke of genius or anything. it was a great finish by milito, full credit to him; on his weaker foot running at an angle away and he kept a speedy abate away from the ball. but you have to acknowledge the fluke. it was such a dumb derby to watch.

and inter's players can't be much slower than ours, they have a wide enough bench to at least attempt to bring the game to us. they had a gutless performance, they were playing for the draw from the first minute and won from a defensive mistake. hardly something to be proud of.

and they are inter, they're not a provincial side that doesn't know how to play football. big teams look for victory. they played like a small team looking for a draw. that's weak in my opinion.

But Inter did score another perfectly good goal and set up one other clear chance that Alvarez missed and Nagatomo also could have scored.

That's plenty chances to win most games.

Maybe they would have attacked more had they not got the goal when they did.


I still completely fail to understand the idea that there is a way for big teams to play and a way for small teams to play.

Every team has its own strengths and should play to them.

Inter kept it tight at the back and threatened on the break, which is what they're good at.

Milan were rubbish because Ibrahimovic didn't show up, and he is Milan's main strength.

you could also say that Milan were unlucky not to score, MVB hit the crossbar, Pato missed from 6 or 7 yards out, Binho lost the ball in his feet 4 yards out right at the end and Boateng had an open shot from a corner he screwed up.

By all means argue that Milan were worthy of draw. Given that they did have chances that can certainly be claimed with some justification.

Just don't do the standard bad loser bleating that happens so often when a team has won while playing defensively.

Would they have been more deserving of the win if Motta's goal had counted and Milito hadn't scored his chance?

Official: Milan take back Merkel

Milan have officially announced that Alexander Merkel has returned from Genoa for a six-month loan spell.

The 19-year-old German midfielder was part of the Rossoneri youth team when half his contract was sold to Genoa as part of the deal to sign half of Stephan El Shaarawy this summer.

This evening Milan released a statement on their club website confirming Merkel has come back to San Siro temporarily.

He will wear shirt number 37 and is an important reinforcement, as Alberto Aquilani and Gennaro Gattuso are out for a month, while Philippe Mexes is sidelined for another eight weeks.
