You just put it on my wishlist. I've a tonne of stuff to get through, but hopefully Christmas will be spent doing nothing but eating panetone and drinking pint bottles. I'm halfway through watching 11 Metri. Anyone seen it? It was at the film festival here, but I didn't make it so I picked it up on DVD. Unfortunately, it's a very local affair, and there aren't even Italian subtitles (my italian isn't great, so it helps to read while I listen), never mind english. But I'm getting most of it. No harm in watching it twice, either!

(Il Romanista) - La volontà di restare alla Roma c’è sempre stata. La volontà di farlo firmare pure. Adesso è arrivato il momento del matrimonio. Le parti non sono lontane.

I tifosi sperano che presto si dicano i fatidico "sì". La trattativa per il rinnovo di Daniele De Rossi è condotta da Baldini che ha gestito e gestisce direttamente in prima persona il "tutto" con il procuratore Sergio Berti. Le parti non sono lontane. Sotto l’albero di Natale i tifosi della Roma potrebbero trovare il contratto più atteso e più voluto, e forse anche prima. Il Romanista l’altro ieri lo ha chiesto a tutta pagina (E adesso De Rossi!). La firma rappresenta un passaggio fondamentale per l’intero progetto Roma, al di là del valore enorme del giocatore, anche di quello simbolico. De Rossi è nato Roma e Roma deve restare.

De Rossi è l’erede di Totti, l’erede naturale. Se è vero che c’è un solo capitano, è ugualmente vero che c’è solo un altro capitano. La società lo sa, la società lo ha sempre saputo. Si sta lavorando per arrivare a quella fumata bianca che veramente zittirebbe gufi e cialtroni, gli stessi che faticano a nascondere i sorrisi dopo le sconfitte di Luis Enrique. E di De Rossi. S’è sempre detto tanto di questo contratto. Spesso se ne è parlato a caso. Spesso dimenticando chi è Daniele De Rossi. Un romanista. Vero.
