I like the lineup we're fielding, we're certainly resting key players like Zlatan and Thiago, letting some players who need to play being given the chance to start (mainly Mexes and Tawio) but at the same time, I do want to see a decent side that can get us a result, we need a result for the sake of the UEFA coefficients at least...Allegri got the right mix IMO

I am really not too bothered about the poor result tonight because I was happy about many other things. Taiwo and Mexes, two players in whom I placed a lot of faith and hope, both performed and surely moved up the pecking order; Mexes to first backup and Taiwo to... well, lets see if he plays against Bologna come Sunday. De Sciglio was ok, same for Cristante, but did nothing too much to make me feel any sort of emotion towards the two. Shouldn't have conceded late, but shit happens.

(ANSA) - Milan, December 8 - AC Milan's hopes of signing Carlos Tevez at the start of the January transfer window have suffered a setback as Manchester City appear in no rush to decide on their bid for the Argentine forward.

Milan had hoped to take Tevez to their training camp in Dubai during Serie A's Christmas break after reaching a salary agreement with the player.

But English Premiershit leaders City seem unimpressed by Milan's offer to sign him on loan with an option for a permanent move at the end of the season.

City want to sell outright the 27-year-old, who they dropped after he refused to come on as a substitute in a Champions League match against Bayern Munich in September, and look set to wait and see if other offers arrive. Milan are looking for a new striker with Antonio Cassano likely to be out until April at least after having an operation last month on a heart defect that caused him to have a minor stroke. Milan have an option to sign Catania's Argentine striker Maxi Lopez in the transfer window if they fail to land Tevez.

Only advantage for Maxi over Tevez is he's not cup tied (and obviously the price), but the guy is not even a fucking starter at Catania so I doubt how he would make a difference for Milan, he'd be a bench player here at best

Tevez is a difference-maker on the other hand, I don't see him as a trouble-maker, certainly nowhere near what Cassano was before joining Milan. I hear that PSG comes with a big offer now, typical rat-ish behaviour from that Brasilian loser, if Tevez wants the money only, his choice is set but I hope he doesnt think that way.

Milan wary of Euro draw after Tottenham shock

AC Milan captain Massimo Ambrosini has admitted that he is desperate to avoid Real Madrid in Friday's Champions League draw, but remains wary of what he wishes for.

"It's a strange tournament, last year we were almost celebrating after the draw (they pulled Tottenham from the hat) but then we know how that finished (they lost)," he said.

"A positive draw doesn't always mean you'll go through to the next round but if I could choose, I'd avoid Real Madrid, there's no doubt about that."

Ambrosini also denied that Serie A title rivals Juventus are hungrier than the reigning champions to lift silverware this season.

Juve have not won the scudetto crown since 2003 as they were stripped of their 2005 and 2006 titles for match-fixing.

And following successive seventh-placed finishes, Juve have been showing greater determination in this campaign, as well as a much tighter defence.

But Ambrosini doesn't believe that will make them any more desperate than his own team.

"Juve don't have any more grit than Milan, they just have two more points in the standings," he said.

so allegri's renewal is the talk of the town. allegri, galliani and berlusconi have all said that it's just a formality at this stage. but berlusconi added “Il mio Milan ideale non butta mai via il pallone”. that put a smile on my face. while allegri is a lot of substance, there's not much swag in his team, and there's no fun in that. if there is a better coach out there, we should go for it. although i personally can't think of any at the moment

We're playing Arsenal which is an OK draw

Apoel and Benfica would've been easy, Real and Bayern are tough ones, so we get a challenging draw but we can definitely do it. I think our team is stronger than Arsenal, but they play the second game at home, so it's an even tie but we better fucking pass this round this time
