LAROMA24.IT - Un tempo si chiamavano 'jolly'. Ed erano tutti quei giocatori che erano in grado di ricoprire più ruoli nell'undici in campo. Calciatori capaci di fare della duttilità tattica la loro arma in più e per questo apprezzatissimi dagli allenatori. Uno degli esempi più illuminanti per il calcio moderno è senz'altro stato quello dell'attuale tecnico dell'AS Roma, Luis Enrique: nato attaccante, capace di ricoprire anche il ruolo di trequartista, impiegato in tutti i ruoli di centrocampo (compresi quelli di esterno) e perfino di terzino. Probabilmente proprio per questa sua attitudine durante tutto l'arco della sua sfavillante carriera, nel Luis Enrique allenatore si è instillata la convinzione che i giocatori della propria rosa possano e debbano ricoprire più ruoli.

Nella Roma 2011/2011 di profili 'multifunzionali' ne troviamo a iosa. Sarebbe più semplice fornire i nomi di chi è riuscito a dedicarsi ad un solo ruolo, che di quelli a cui è stata modificata la posizione in campo due o addirittura tre volte. Lo studio de LAROMA24.IT ha posato la lente iniziando proprio da questi 'fortunati', gli specialisti del ruolo. E a conti fatti sono veramente pochi: solo 3 e tutti nei ruoli difensivi. Si tratta di Rosi (schierato solo come laterale destro), Kjaer (centrale di difesa a destra), Josè Angel (laterale sinistro).

Escludendo chi è sceso in campo solo per meno di 4 match (Cicinho, Juan, Viviani, Brighi, Simplicio, Verre, Caprari, Okaka), ammontano addirittura a 16 i giocatori che Luis Enrique ha spostato di ruolo almeno una volta. Di questi 16, ben 6 hanno addirittura ricoperto 3 ruoli differenti (Perrotta, De Rossi, Gago, Pjanic, Bojan) nello scacchiere del tecnico asturiano.

La duttilità, la capacità di rendersi utili alla squadra, le varianti che possono sorprendere l'avversario sono tutte caratteristiche che rendono il giocatore poliedrico un vantaggio per la propria squadra. Ma ora viene il dubbio che l'allenatore stia esasperando questo trend: non tutti i giocatori hanno queste peculiarità, non tutti sono pronti a cambiare di continuo (spesso nella stessa gara posizione). Ma soprattutto, l'interrogativo più pressante è: la Roma, che ancora non ha un'identità di squadra così forte può sostenere un simile tourbillon di uomini e posizioni in campo?

Yeh I found it interesting just how many players have been deployed in 'multi-roulo'. I don't necessarily think it a fault or a cause of confusion like the article implies, but it highlights the limits LE has been willing to go to to fit his formula. Perrotta and Taddei at full-back have been the most obvious of changes, I suppose, as well as the shuffling around in midfield. Yeh now that you mention I dont recall DDR playing at sinistro mezz'ala against Cagliari, but he did for certain against Lecce when Gago started in the 'centrale centrocampo' role against Lecce.

LE is the right man to lead the ship. He will not be fired soon.
There are some facts here people dont want to consider.

1 - The new management arent starting from scratch, they are starting from negatives. There are many years of Roma being financially in the red.
The aim of the management is cut the wages, cut the losses, bring down the age of the squad and focus on the future.

2 - Spalletti should only return if we offload Totti, Pizarro, de rossi and co. We need someone outside the enviroment.LE is that man.

3 - TO Point 1. We dont have good squad to demand winning from LE right now. Neither the ability to sign champions, we can sign talented youngsters but not champions. Sensi benefited from calciopoli , if calciopoli didnt happen we were going to have many mediocre years.

4 - The aim is to generate more revenues, and then demand winning. That only happens through building a stadium. The aim of the management is to make Roma be financially capable even without qualifying to champions league.


LE is the right man, there is no manager available to take his spot. Managers like Ancelotti, Spalletti wont come here to build from scratch. They look for winning conditions, which we dont provide now.

Why didn't you go into the Distini Ospiti with the rest of the Juve scum? Yeh I was thinking the same alright in going to the Curva Nord – it could be a bit of craic to be near the away fans and hear all the abuse going back and fourth, plus the Roma fans there can be just as mental as the Curva Sud, and it also could be good to see the Sud in full flow. Plus tickets there are only €20 compared to €50+ of the Tribuna's, so its a no brainer.

Looks like LE could either go with a front 3 of Lamela Borriello Bojan or Lamela Totti Bojan against Fiorentina.

Looking back at the list that Shield posted that showed the multiple roles players have played, I don't think it's necessarily resulted in confusion. In the cases of some players, I think it reflects the fact that he was looking for players who could play multiple roles. In the cases of others, it is a case of him fitting players to the ideas he has.

Oh yeah, and I'm annoyed about that Rube game being on the Monday. Weekday games are a pain for me.
