Yeh I think Taddei could play RB for sure. He is right-footed and the right-hand side is his more natural position. He has a great engine for full-back, getting up and down the wing, probably even more so than Perrotta. For tonight though I'd still go with Cassetti, he still has something to offer.

(Redazione Forzaroma.info) - Nel buio della serata al Friuli, la Roma si riscopre vulnerabile: gli elogi per la doppia vittoria contro Novara e Lecce, si sono tramutati in critiche piuttosto aspre dopo la scialba prestazione contro i bianconeri.

Per Luis Enrique (alla quattordicesima formazione su quattordici gare) sarà una settimana all'insegna dell'alta tensione, soprattutto se si pensa agli impegni che aspettano la compagine giallorossa, un mese che deciderà il tipo di campionato da affrontare. Nella partita di ieri, poche le buone notizie: per un Kjaer fermato dai problemi muscolari, ecco un Juan che ritrova un pizzico di sicurezza e, cosa più importante, 90 minuti pieni in campo; il brasiliano, vista la penuria di centrali difensivi, sarà determinante nel tour de force invernale che proseguirà domenica prossima al Franchi di Firenze. Anche Osvaldo, nonostante lo zero sul tabellino dei marcatori, ha fatto vedere buone cose, lottando e sgomitando nella retroguardia avversaria: all'italo-argentino sono mancati i riferimenti di Erik Lamela e Miralem Pjanic, incappati in una serata decisamente no. Voti bassi, nei quotidiani, anche per Josè Angel e Leandro Greco, apparsi spesso timidi e fuori dalla manovra romanista.

Well, another disappointing defeat. It perhaps could have went either way at the end, and I was convinced it was gonna drag out as a 0-0 draw, but we didn't really deserve to win it, anyway. I thought taking off Gago was a mistake. Udinese were always going to hit us on the counter or with a quick through ball, so we should have kept Gago on for his defensive cover and maybe taken Greco off. Our general play was quite sloppy and our passing was very poor, and even if we did have more possession, we never really moved the ball well or put some nice moves together. Udinese are a tough side to play against and they deserve credit, but it was a disappointing all round performance from us.

Oh, and by the way, have I said that Juan is still easily our most talented defender and all talk of getting rid of him is just pure nonsense?

Juan played well, Ed, no doubt. Burdisso's horror injury was terrible, but I think Juan/Kjaer are a more promising pairing. I'd rather the Dane got used to playing beside a calm, collected defender than a frenetic and hotheaded-albiet-talented one.

I agree on the Gago point too. His all-round talents are very useful, and between him and DDR, there's a pretty hefty shield in front of the centre-backs, which I think is great because combined they can divide defensive and attacking duties, rather than one or the other being pigeon-holed into that protective role. I see a really great partnership there, and I hope it develops further.

I'm sorry to say it, but I think Greco is a little out of his league in this team and at 25 I can't see him developing.

(di Alessio Nardo) Che Luis Enrique fosse un tecnico "particolare" lo avevamo capito sin da subito. Forse è stato scelto anche per questo, per il fatto d'esser estraneo alla normalità e di rappresentare un'assoluta novità per il calcio italiano. Non potevamo comunque immaginare nulla di simile. Una gestione del gruppo quasi schizofrenica: 29 giocatori impiegati da agosto ad oggi, quindici schieramenti difensivi differenti, dodici assortimenti di centrocampo e ben diciassette tridenti d'attacco diversi. Una sorta di sperimentazione generale tipica dei progetti agli albori.

Il dato più lampante è questo: quattordici gare stagionali, quattordici formazioni diverse dal 1'. Non un bagliore di coerenza, continui cambi anche dopo partite ben giocate, una variazione costante di ruoli e pedine. Passino le prime due sfide (ad agosto con lo Slovan), disputate con un organico ridotto all'osso. Ma da settembre, con il roster rinforzato e tutti i potenziali titolari a disposizione, doveva esser scelta una strada. Sedici-diciotto titolari ed una formazione base, per iniziare a creare il gruppo del futuro gettando basi solide. Invece il buon Luis, nemmeno fosse alle prese con un laboratorio calcistico, ha proseguito imperterrito nei propri esperimenti, incurante delle controindicazioni del campo.
Se si esclude la doppia sfida con lo Slovan, il mister spagnolo non ha mai schierato per due partite consecutive lo stesso quartetto difensivo. In una sola occasione (contro il Siena) è stato confermata la coppia centrale del match precedente (Kjaer-Burdisso). Cinque i terzini destri alternati dal 1' (Cicinho, Rosi, Perrotta, Cassetti e Taddei). Un pelino in più di coerenza a centrocampo. Il trio Pizarro-De Rossi-Pjanic è stato impiegato consecutivamente contro Inter e Siena, mentre Gago, De Rossi e Pizarro si sono ritrovati insieme addirittura per tre volte di fila (con Palermo, Genoa e Milan). Nessun tridente offensivo ha avuto modo di esibirsi dal 1' per due volte di seguito. Dei ventinove giocatori impiegati da Luis, solo uno (il 17enne Verre) non è mai sceso in campo dall'inizio.

Alla luce dei numeri citati sembrerà strano, ma anche Luis vanta i suoi capisaldi. Il più impiegato dal 1' è Daniele De Rossi (sempre titolare in tutte le dodici sfide di campionato, l'unico assieme ad Osvaldo ad aver superato la soglia dei 1000 minuti giocati), seguito da Stekelenburg, José Angel e Osvaldo stesso. Il convalescente Burdisso resta fermo a 10 in compagnia di Pjanic. Bojan e Perrotta sono partiti titolari in metà delle gare giocate (7 su 14) e sono anche coloro ad essere subentrati più volte (5) a gara in corso assieme a Borriello, titolare in due sole occasioni (al pari di Greco, Cicinho, Viviani e Caprari...). Nove gli elementi utilizzati mai entrati in corso d'opera: i due portieri, Kjaer, Juan, Taddei, De Rossi, Caprari, Viviani e l'ex Brighi. Numeri, statistiche, un walzer di minutaggi e presenze. Only in Rome, huh. I'm sure this is something they can work out, and hopefully it won't be an issue between them. Both can be key players for us and so need to have a good relationship. A fight isn't really a big deal in football, as long as they're men enough to take responsibly.

So what happened, they were in each others faces havin a row 'cos Lamela should have passed the ball to Osvaldo (what time was it, in the game?), Lamela threw a plastic bottle at him and then Osvaldo swung at him? Then the rest of the players broke it up? Sort it out lads.

Kjaer is likely to be out He didn't tear his hamstring, I don't think, which is good, but its a bad strain. He had physio on it but too early yet to determine how long exactly he'll be out for. From asroma.it:

Okaka – remember him? – may go , who are struggling badly in Serie B. His contract is also up in June and I doubt we're gonna be renewing it.
