In this interview from yesterday, Fenucci mentions something that I have been dreaming about since the summer; that is, Roma creating a second team (ala Barca B) in the "Lega Pro." If at all possible, we MUST find a way to do this. We have more promising, talented young players than ever that either fall off the map on loan (with teams who are less interested in developing Roma-owned talent) or get lesser experience in the primavera. I LOVE this solution. I think we'd still have guys like Cerci and Guberti if we had this in place. I can go on and on with the benefits. Until now, I did not think it was a possibility in Italy but after Fenucci's comments, I have some hope. Per favore Roma, get it done!!!!

oma director of sport Walter Sabatini reveals “Luis Enrique wants new players” and Daniele De Rossi’s contract talks continue.

The Giallorossi have struggled this season to get to grips with the new Coach’s methods and could be due another revolution in January.

“We will go back on to the transfer market to aid integration and correction of the squad,” Sabatini told Romanews.

“We have not spotted any grave issues, but the Coach did make a perfectly legitimate request for new players.

“This also fits in with those players who have not been used very much this term.”

Among those likely to be on the way out in January are Marco Borriello, Juan and Fabio Simplicio.

Meanwhile, the clock continues to tick down for De Rossi, whose contract expires in June 2012.

“The contract is an absolute priority for us and for him. We are very confident,” added the director of sport.

PS. I can't confirm that when Saba said, "We have not spotted any grave issues" the clouds didn't part and lightning didn't strike while the words "What about your Center backs smoking man?" Came booming from what seemed like no where and everywhere. Just a rumor.

Wasn't Juan's agent murmuring something about him going back to Brazil a while back before he returned to duty? I thought there was some issue where they felt Juan was fit to play but wasn't playing.

I agree, the thing about a B team is very interesting. LE wanting more players makes us sound like Inter in the old days. High player turnover, keep bringing in new, international players.

I meant to comment on the image of Lopez. He was called the new Fonseca, so I guess it's not just his play, but his looks too.

No probs. I think I took those comments by Juan's agent as being just that – typical agent waffle over one of his clients who isn't currently in favour. Maybe there is something in them, I don't know, but I haven't heard or seen any sign from Juan himself to imply he is unhappy. I'm sure he understands if your not in peak condition you won't be playing, its clear enough. So I hope he can manage to get over his latest set-back and get back to full fitness. We could do with him.

Add Pjanic to the guys who have learned to speak 'Roman' “Totti is an exceptional teacher, as it’s incredible to be training and playing with him. He is a leader, which I knew, but also different to the others. His football is joy.”

I hope he really does take the opportunity to learn from Totti, as it is a privilege for him, especially if he really wants to be a trequartista.

Why do you particularly dislike Pepe (aside from him playing for Juve)?

He's not much use, but he just comes across as an honest, hardworking player.

He's pugnacious with refs and opposing players. Often times overdone. I've always loved Gattuso though and you could probably describe him the same way. Juve doesn't help either...

I didn't mean it as a slight to him. I usually cheer on former youths provided it was a club decision to send them off and they didn't leave on bad terms. It was more of my ramblings than any real comment on him.

Training from today. International players will be back training on Thursday. Kjear is fully fit again and was tried alongside Heinze, who could both start against Lecce (Sunday night posticipi) given that Burdisso won't return until Thursday. Juan us also back training but doubts remain over his fitness. Perrotta is also expected to take the place of Gago, who is also off with the Argies, with DDR and Pjanic in midfield, providing Pjanic comes through Bosnia's game with the Portuguese tonight ok.Totti is fully recovered but may be given more time to heal and so only make the bench, so Lamela, Bojan and Osvaldo will continue upfront, although rumours persist that LE may surprise even himself by choosing a selection of Okaka, Abel Balbo and Mido. Pizarro, Greco and Borini didn't train.

(Il Romanista - V.Meta) - Faceva un certo effetto vederli giocare contro, proprio loro che ai tempi della Primavera sembravano un po’ l’uno l’erede dell’altro, accomunati da un talento che comune non è. Numeri d’alta scuola e rapidità, nella Roma ricoprivano lo stesso ruolo all’ala destra, pur avendo caratteristiche solo in parte sovrapponibili (più scattista Marco, più duttile Stefano, che in attacco può giocare ovunque). Lo strano incrocio è andato in scena domenica al Bentegodi, dove il Verona di D’Alessandro l’ha spuntata 2-1 sul Crotone di Pettinari (privo peraltro di Florenzi, oggi in campo con l’Under 21 insieme a Bertolacci e Crescenzi). Un incrocio breve, visto che entrambi sono subentrati nella ripresa, quanto basta per scambiarsi la maglia a fine partita. In assenza dell’altro azzurrino Alessandro Crescenzi e con Simone Sini fermo per infortunio, l’unico romanista a scendere in campo nel Bari (1-1 a Torino) è stato Adrian Stoian, alla quarta presenza stagionale, che Torrente ha buttato dentro negli ultimi dieci minuti.

Nel Grosseto Luca Antei si è salvato dal naufragio dei biancorossi contro il Varese (1-5): il difensore, reduce da un problema muscolare che l’ha costretto a saltare il doppio impegno dell’Under 21, è rimasto in panchina. Rientro da titolare per Alessandro Malomo nell’Albinoleffe, 2-2 in rimonta a Castellammare di Stabia. Good round-up of some of our young players here. D’Alessandro and Pettinari get some good praise; they were playing against each other recently (both on the right-wing) for Verona against Crotone respectively, both coming off the bench. Stoian was the only one playing for Bari in their 1-1 draw with Torino, as Crescenzi was on international duty and Sini was injured. Antei was an unused sub for Grossetto who got whipped 5-1 by Varese, he had a muscle injury which also kept him out of Azzurrini action, while Malomo was playing for Albinoleffe and Scardina for Viareggio.

Also, Verre and Pigliacelli were playing for the in their win over Montengro.
