(Il Tempo-A.Austini) A Joe Tacopina si aggiunge, su richiesta di Unicredit, Roberto Cappelli, che ha appena passato il timone da presidente a DiBenedetto. Ieri sono state depositate le liste del cda: il consorzio Usa ha inserito Andrea Gabrielle, un manager italoamericano specializzato in progetti sul web, vicino a DiBenedetto (gli era seduto accanto in tribuna a Parma), che vanta una serie di contatti «strategici» a Roma. Insieme a lui e al presidente nel cda entrano i soci del consorzio Pallotta, D'Amore e Ruane, Tacopina, l'ad Fenucci e l'avvocato Baldissoni. I cinque posti della banca vanno a Fiorentino, Cappelli, Mingrone, Marra e l'avvocatessa Navarra: l'assemblea del 27 approverà le nomine. Oggi, intanto, arrivano a Trigoria i due manager Pannes e Barrow per iniziare una serie di incontri tecnici sullo stadio. Mercoledì e giovedì DiBenedetto sarà a Londra per il meeting «Leaders of Football», venerdì tornerà negli States ma sarà di nuovo a Roma per il derby. Stavolta avrà al suo fianco il dg Baldini (oggi compie 51 anni) che il 14 parteciperà a un convegno sul calcio ad Atri e il giorno dopo sarà a Trigoria, proprio alla vigilia della stracittadina. Qualificazione dell'Inghilterra permettendo.

(Gazzetta dello Sport - A.Catapano) - Il senso di quanto sta accadendo intorno alla Roma lo dà un tweet di Mark Pannes, uno dei manager americani della Raptor al lavoro su marketing e merchandising: «Cracking afternoon a Trigoria, mapping out strategy for new era».

Pomeriggio crack, pianificata strategia per la nuova era. Ecco. Se ieri sia stato davvero l'inizio di una nuova epoca per la Roma, lo dirà il tempo. James Pallotta, il socio forte di DiBenedetto, ieri era nella capitale. «Miglioriamo di partita in partita, dobbiamo credere in Luis Enrique, sono fiducioso — ha detto —. E presto le basi per il nuovo stadio». Intanto, chi segue le vicende giallorosse in questi giorni ha la sensazione di aver preso al volo il treno della modernità: calcio innovativo, giovani talenti, allenatore fuori dagli schemi, top manager, chiacchiere multimediali. Da ieri, la Roma ha finalmente il suo profilo ufficiale su Facebook. I tifosi apprezzano anche questo aspetto del progetto. Insostituibile Chi sembra essersi tuffato anima e corpo in questa nuova avventura è Daniele De Rossi. Leader sempre più autorevole della squadra, primo soldato di Luis Enrique, uomo immagine della società.

Lo testimonia il suo rendimento, tornato su livelli altissimi, tanto da risultare, dopo cinque giornate di campionato, l'unico dei 26 giocatori utilizzati dal tecnico spagnolo sempre in campo, recuperi compresi. Lo dimostra il suo endorsement per la Roma di DiBenedetto, pronunciato in più di un'occasione, l'ultima dopo il successo sull'Atalanta: «La gente crede in questo progetto. È un cambiamento culturale. La squadra è il giusto mix tra vecchi e giovani. Luis Enrique è leale e intelligente, ha capito cosa non funzionava e l'ha corretto». Ma quanto gli costa E tutto questo a dispetto di un contratto in scadenza tra pochi mesi. Oppure, l'adesione di De Rossi è figlia di alcune rassicurazioni sul suo futuro a Roma. Ci guadagnerebbero tutti, in fondo: lui, la squadra, la società. Ieri l'a.d. Claudio Fenucci, che conduce la trattativa insieme a Walter Sabatini, è tornato sull'argomento, a Radio anch'io lo sport: «Abbiamo fatto un passo avanti, siamo arrivati ad una definizione della parte variabile, ma sulla parte fissa c'è ancora distanza».

Dunque, di buono c'è che De Rossi ha accettato la struttura del contratto (base più premi), quello che manca è l'accordo sullo stipendio fisso, il che tra domanda e offerta fa ballare ancora più di un milione di euro, quanto dista tra i 5 e spiccioli che offre la Roma e i sei e mezzo che pretende il giocatore. «Entrambi vogliamo chiudere, passo dopo passo ce la faremo», assicura Fenucci. La prossima settimana potrebbe rivelarsi decisiva, alla vigilia del derby. Non sarebbe male.

I wouldn't say Atalanta were piss poor. Everyone was raving about how good they were prior to meeting us and how they would have been top of Serie A if it weren't for their point penalty. It was a good game and a good all-round performance from the lads, and you could see they were all more comfortable in this system, but there's clearly still a lot of work to do and a lot of time and effort needed if it is too work. The Lazie will be a tougher test for sure but a game we can be confident about. And hopefully Totti will be fit.

Kjaer delighted to be at Roma

Simon Kjaer says he’s thankful to Roma for ending his nightmare in German football with Wolfsburg.

The Danish international joined the Giallorossi on transfer deadline day after a difficult 12 months in the Bundesliga.

“Being at Roma now is simply fantastic,” he stated. “I’m incredibly happy with my switch and it came as an enormous relief to me.

“I had a very frustrating time in Germany and I knew that the club could have sold me to another side.”

Wolfsburg started the last campaign with great hopes, but spent most of the season fighting against relegation.

Kjaer, formerly of Palermo, was also paired with a switch to Juventus over the summer but opted to link up again with Walter Sabatini – the Roma sporting director who signed him in Sicily.

The centre-back, 22, has played in three Serie A games for the Giallorossi so far this term.

Thanks Jeff. Yeh I had thought that the plans to improve the facilities in and around the Olimpico were only a short-term measure alright but wasn't quite sure. Good to hear. I have to say I like the Olimpico as a stadio. Obviously transport to it is a pain the arse, but I like the walk down to it and the atmosphere and excitement once there. All the facilities are quite good, too, with beer and food easy available, and I don't really mind being far back from the pitch which a lot of people seem to make an big issue over. Of course, a new stadio would be very much welcome, purely from a financial standpoint as its important for a club to fully own and operate is its on stadio to generate revenue. That can't be fully maximised in the Olimpico so a new stadio is the only solution.

I'm not familiar with the Tor Vergata area. Last I heard the lead location in the running for the new stadio was south of the city centre (cant remember the name of the area). Tor Vergata seems like its a lot further out, which wouldn't be ideal, although it depends on what transport facilities would be like to and from that area.

I seen that about the tickets for home games and issues with the tessera del tifosi. I think what they're offering is packages for home games, like say you can a group ticket for a number of games at a reduced value for which you won't need a tessera del tifosi card. A good idea alright, the tessera del tifosi is already proving to be a failure and not the right way to go about things. Not that you need to worry about it if you're a foreigner or have a foreign passport, as that does anyway. I'm already planning on going over in December for the Rubentus game, which should be good.

Thats cool that the digital/social person replied to you. You'd swear there was a revolution going on; who would have thought to put in place such complicated, technologically advanced and otherworldly things such as an official FB and twitter pages?! They'll have new, new website up before you know it. 'Official' pay per view streaming is a good idea and if you're willing to pay for a reliable stream then it'd be worth it, but in my view you can get good streams for most games now without having to pay. Bet365 and betwin offer reliable streams (the international group one) for which you just need a positive account. You can also get a Roma Channel stream online for free but I don't think they have rights to show all Roma games, as they'd be with Sky etc.

I don't know much about Tor Vergata but if you click on that map link I provided and go to street view the first thing you see is a train station. So maybe the transportation aspect is good. I don't know.

As far as streaming is concerned I may not want to pay for every game but the big ones I would. I miss what omnisport provided. A high quality stream that didn't freeze and you could go full screen with out getting pixelated or have it look like the camera was covered in vaseline or something. Plus I am sick of the dodgey unofficial streams. Like UEFA charges I think €4.00. I think that is reasonable. I'd rather my money went to Roma than Sky.

Osvaldo called up to the Azzurri for the first time after both Pazzini and Balosmelly had to withdraw from the squad. Good for him. He now can't be called up at any stage for the Argies.

Il Ct della nazionale, Cesare Prandelli, ha convocato in extremis anche Pablo Daniel Osvaldo per sostituire gli infortunati Pazzini e Balotelli. Il giocatore si aggregherà alla squadra nella giornata di domani. Premiato quindi l'ex Espanyol per le ottime prestazioni nelle ultime partite che gli hanno anche permesso di mettere a segno 3 reti ed ottenere la fiducia del tecnico dell'Italia. Si chiude definitivamente la possibilita di vederlo con la nazionale argentina che ormai non può più convocarlo.

DE ROSSI CONFIDENT OF ROMA DEAL


Daniele De Rossi is confident he will reach an agreement with Roma regarding his contract extension. The Italy midfielder, who was a reported target of Manchester City this summer, has been locked in talks with Roma about a new deal for the last six months with his current contract expiring at the end of the season.

"We are still in the negotiation phase but I am convinced that we will arrive at a situation that will please all parties," De Rossi told reporters at Wednesday's national team press conference in Coverciano.

"I hope to play at the highest level in Italy for a further five years and then, if there is an opportunity to go abroad, I would consider it."

Reports in Rome claim the 28-year-old De Rossi wants his wages increased to 6.5million euros (£5.6million) per year.

"That annoys me," De Rossi said. "Sometimes figures that are not correct come out on the media. In any case, I only speak to my agent and I don't intend to talk about the negotiations in a press conference."
