The lazzie shit pigs can barely afford to pay the rent in the Olimpico and are too stingy to pay their bills on time, there's no way imaginable they could build a new stadio of their own, save for a field in somewhere like Molise on the side of a hill with a fence running around it and couple of barns to hold the sheep in.

Giovanni, when you say there is land out near Fiumicino that would seem perfect for a new stadio, do you mean out near the airport? Would that not be too far away? Its over an hour travel on bus, isn't it? That would seem like a nightmare to travel to and back from. If a more central area like Testaccio or someone like that in the city centre isn't realistic, then I think the area around Tor di Valle would be the best bet.

Training after a day of rest on Monday. Juan, Pizarro and Lamela are back, while Pjanic and Greco were absent. Cicinho returned to full training after a successful stint signing autographs in the Disitini Nord, in which his writing hand was fully healed, and its now hoped he can finally return to action as the teams joke mascot.

Also nice opening pic used, I wonder where the author got that from (I also wonder why the images in an entry are 'centered', which looks weird, and not either the full width of the entry page or left-aligned. The grey background is also too dark and needs to be lightened, in my view).

Didn't Bojan play down the right, Collie? The average pitch positions are distorted by the red card and so the non-like-for-like substitutions. Bojan's problem is that we played completely without profondita' - his strength will be the cleverness of his movements in behind.

Can we collectively promise never to identify LE's tactics with Barcelona's. Some of the differences are laid out here pretty neatly:

An average cannot be distorted; it is a central tendency*. A statistic can be skewed, but that's a different argument. If you have a problem with the relevance of such an average being used to illustrate events in a Serie A match, you might take that up with the Italian newspapers, or Panini Digital, who all seem happy to use them.

*defined as the result obtained by adding several quantities together and then dividing this total by the number of quantities.

Just trying to help - I thought it might be worth noting that Heinze's and Perrotta's average positions reflect the fact that they played in two quite different roles over the course of the match. I should also be interested to know whether the average position for Gago is for him or for Rosi+Gago, if you see what I mean. Apologies if thinking about what you'd taken the time to write up wasn't what you'd hoped for / expected from your reader.

And, again, if Bojan did play down the right and that graphic is correct, I suspect it does little to undermine your point about Bojan's invisibility but a bit to suggest how incomparably more involved in the game Borriello was when he came on. It also, I imagine, reflects how much of the wide play is dependent on the fullbacks rather than the wide forwards.

Consider me your midwife, not your adversary. Or consider me what you like - the former would be more constructive, though, I suspect.

Your sarcasm aside, I understood what your point was but as I said, that's an argument you'll need to make with the likes of Opta Sports and Panini Digital. Or with any of the hundred newspapers that uses these averages. An average is an average. It can't be wrong or distorted. It can be used in a misleading manner, which is perhaps the implication you meant to make.

I don't post here to piss anyone off, so I don't know why the opinion of someone else who loves calcio like you grates on you so much. We could have had an interesting debate about the relevance of certain match stats (I'm not convinced by a lot of them), but you only seem interested in negativity. I'm still waiting on your explanation of why my, and many other people's, opinion of DDR's best position is so wrong, or why Perrotta suits a central midfield role better than DDR or Gago.

And I didn't compare LE's tactic's to those of the current Barcelona. I mentioned "tiki-taka" once, which is just a silly little phrase that's become something of a cliche within football over the last few years. It doesn't actually mean anything, it is just a popular signifier for a relatively new form of possession football based on short passing and movement, that has its roots in Amsterdam as much as it does in the Catalan capital. It could just as easily have been in reference to Arsenal or the Spanish national side. Given that it's roughly the type of football LE played, I don't think it's a stretch to say that he favours this style of football.

Your last point (12.44pm) about the graphic is the first constructive thing you've said to me. I went back to yesterday's Corriere, and I found it confusing and misleading. I'm trying to get a different one off of Panini now. Sorry Mate, I'm sure you don't mean anything by it but since you first replied to me re: DDR, you've been pretty insulting. We've never talked, so I find that position of superiority a little hard to take. Let's just agree to disagree, on everything, for ever.
