As pissed as I am that I have to wait another couple weeks for serie a to start, it's a huge gift to Juve. Matri out for another week, Krasic out for 10 days. We could use the rest.

I think the key this season is injuries. The players need to stay healthy! This team has been ravaged by injuries over the past 4 years. I wouldn't mind if an injury or two hit players as long as they play in different parts of the park. When you have 3 forwards struggling to get healthy, it forces Juve to go out and spend money like they did with Matri. I'm almost sure they could've had him at a cheaper price if they didn't have so many injuries. Depth at the forward position isn't that great. I think depth in this team at all is that great in all positions. Juve don't have players that can come off the bench and make a difference. Despite starting a good 11, their bench is terrible and this is what I believe can win scudetti year in and year out, not your starters. Your bound to get the injury bug (hopefully Juve won't this season) but you have to have quality on the bench. Look at Milan's bench.

On another note, does anyone buy into Conte's mentality of attacking football?? Defense wins championships, we all know this.I don't think scoring goals was an issue for Juve last season, games were lost in the midfield and when they were ahead. It would be nice to see Juve play some nice Barcelona-like football but it isn't like Barca is weak defensively either.

I don't think Conte's formation is as attacking as people are making out to be, but he obviously wants the majority of chances to come from crosses from the flanks. The mentality is to keep possession of the ball, and to keep it on the oppositions half. The longer you do that in a game, the higher chance you'll have of winning the game. Conte wants us to dictate the flow of the game, which is why Pirlo was such a big pick up. The problem is that I don't think our defenders are organized or fast enough to play a high backline on the offside traps. I would feel a lot more comfortable about a high backline if we pick up Lugano, because like tk has been telling us for the past 3 years, he can be a leader.

Folks, its gonna get ugly here the next day or two with this hurricane. For the first time evacuations are being held. There were reports of a tree falling in my neighborhood but further investigation revealed it was just my genetic jackhammer. Seriously, this is bad.
