If Bonucci doesn't come good by January we need to sell him though. We don't have the luxury of waiting for talent to develop. Plus, without a structured team of world class players around him, it will be harder for Bonucci to succeed here than if he was signed by Milan or Inter.

Overall Transfer Thoughts:

Pirlo: Class player with a high salary who doesn't fit into a 4-4-2. If Conte can defy the laws of modern football, it might work... but I doubt it.
Lichtsteiner: Good work rate and crossing. Is his defending good enough to last until 2013? I hope so, but doubt it. (Caceres anyone?)
Ziegler: Good to see we are trying to cash in on him immediately. That was really the only reason to sign him after failing to pursue a true top notch LB in Taiwo.
Vidal: World class player. Conte needs to find the spot for him though. Will he be our DM? Will he play a more advanced role like he did for Leverkusen last season?
Giaccherini: A much better depth signing than last years Martinez and Pepe waste.
Vucinic: Good, versatile attacker. Will give us nice control up top. Similar usefulness as Quags. Hell, if Quags was just running on momentum last season, this will be a great move.
Estigarribia: Has some nice raw talent. Can it be refined to suit the Italian game? Loan him in January.
Elia: Fast, good skill. Doesn't make good choice and isnt a great crosser. I think he will be a waste of 9m and was a signing made in desperation.

Marotta: Fail. We failed to fix our main problems from the last two seasons. We over-spent for Elia and didn't bring in any leaders. Conte will have to do a remarkable job to make this work.

The suggestion was that Juve pretty much had an agreement with Rhodolfo in time for the deadline and had made an offer to the club, but Sao Paolo weren't willing to let him move at that point.

Brazil do have a very good set of CBs and it only tends to be the attacking players that leave Brazil at a very young age.

I'm going to try and catch a Sao Paolo game on goltv, but I really like Astori, and I think Bocchetti would be useful because he can play CB and LB.

Juventus have loaned young goalkeeper Mario Kirev to Romanian outfit Timisoara until next June.

The Bulgarian, who joined the Old Lady in January 2009 from Slavia Sofia, has also spent stints at Grasshopper and FC Thun since moving to Turin.

Juve took the decision to send Kirev out yet again given the presence of Gigi Buffon, Marco Storari and Alexander Manninger at Vinovo.

One from Storari or Manninger was set to be sold this summer, but neither player completed a switch away.

Kirev turned 22 last month.

Juve look to the Premiershit



Juventus are looking to the Premiershit with interest in Gary Cahill and the rebellious Carlos Tevez.
According to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, the Serie A leaders are already preparing more reinforcements for January.

Bolton Wanderers defender Cahill is the primary target, although they face huge competition from other Premiershit teams.

The other is Manchester City striker Tevez, who was frozen out of the squad by Roberto Mancini after refusing to come off the bench against Bayern Munich.

The Argentine has made it entirely clear he wants to leave Eastlands and England in general, so Serie A provides a new opportunity.

There are rumours in Britain that Juventus have already met with Tevez’s agents and have a bid lined up.

No January Juve move for Gio



Parma have categorically ruled out the possibility of handing Sebastian Giovinco back to Juventus in January.

The Italian international is co-owned by both clubs and he is being linked with a return to Turin after a sensational start to the season.

Nevertheless, Parma director general Pietro Leonardi has told Sky Sport Italia that the forward will remain at the Stadio Tardini for the entire campaign.

“I can exclude a return to Juventus in January,” the official stated. “We’ll only talk to the Bianconeri about him at the end of the season.

“He’s our player now and we are happy with what he is doing, we’re also happy that he is a player who is wanted by other clubs.

“However, we want our fans to be able to marvel at his magic touches.

“Parma decided to rely heavily on him and now that he has the opportunity to play we want his contribution.”

Giovinco has played in five Serie A games for Parma so far this term, totalling 460 minutes, and he’s scored five goals.

If The Waterboy leaves at the end of the season, we better sign Giovinco. We should sign even if he stays, but if he leaves AND we don't sign Giovinco then I'm boycotting Juve next season.

Giovinco opens Juve door



Parma’s Sebastian Giovinco has failed to rule out the possibility of replacing Alessandro The Waterboy in the Juventus squad next season.

The Italian international is part-owned by both sides, but a return to Turin is being suggested after a sensational start to the campaign at the Tardini.

“For now I’m just thinking about the No 10 shirt that I have here at Parma,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“If, in the future, the two clubs reach an agreement and everything goes as it should then we’ll see what happens…”

This will be The Waterboy’s last season with the Old Lady after President Andrea Agnelli last week announced that a split would occur in the summer.

“tender Alex has represented and still represents the future of Juventus,” Giovinco added. “He is the club’s history and nobody will be able to beat his records.

“The only thing I can say about the announcement was that the timing may have been wrong, but tender Alex should have expected it sooner or later.”

Giovinco, who grew up in the Juventus youth ranks, has ben critical of the Turin giants in the past for not giving him the opportunities he would have wanted in the first team.

“My anger towards Juventus has gone now because I am having one of the best moments of my career,” he noted. “I don’t want to think about negative things.”

Juve hold Giovinco talks

Juventus and Parma reportedly held initial discussions about the future of Sebastian Giovinco on Monday.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Juve chief Andrea Agnelli travelled down to see Parma counterpart Tommaso Ghirardi.

Giovinco is co-owned by both clubs after the Tardini chief bought a 50 per cent share in him over the summer following last season’s successful loan spell.

Giovinco has made a fine start to the present campaign and it is understood that Juve are considering a Turin recall.

The Old Lady will be losing the services of captain Alessandro The Waterboy at the end of the season once his contract expires.

Agnelli is understood to have wanted to discuss the Italian international with Ghirardi amidst fears that Chelsea could put themselves in a position to sign the No 10.

Giovinco missed last night’s international friendly between Italy and Uruguay because of injury.
