I dont know if he's gonna nail down a starting spot, I certainly hope he does. One thing that immediately sticks out is the fact that we gave him a FIVE year deal. That's a long deal so clearly Milan don't view him as a temporary fix. I think the club is reasonably confident he'll be a hit and then we'll see Rino out next summer when his deal expires (Flamini too is out of contract but I hope it's Rino)...overall, we get a 26-year old Italian with some reasonable experience in Serie A and capped a few times for Azzurrri, not a bad move for the midfield overall IMO

He was out of contract next year but still...500,000 + 1/2 the crappy player we got for free, pretty sweet deal:D

i think he's a replacement for gattuso. he's got all the hustling and running, but with a little more technical skills. he plays as a mezzala for the national team, so i think he's a great acquisition overall.

i think the fact we left a non-EU spot open speaks volumes that it is being saved for January.

Also, we're all overlooking El Shaarawy, highly unlikely he's gonna be an impact player for a couple of years but maybe he's gonna provide some spark, but it's very good to see no expectations weighted on him, it will help his development for sure

the Milan Lab said they had to realign his legs after the kicking he got last season playing for Padova, hopefully he gets some playing time this season just to play with no pressure on.
