Juventus have officially handed midfielder Albin Ekdal to Cagliari in a co-ownership deal.

The 22-year-old had been co-owned by Bologna up until this summer, but returned to Turin with little chance of breaking into the starting XI.

It was today confirmed that Cagliari have signed up 50 per cent of the Swede’s contract from Juve.

Ekdal joined Juventus in 2008 for €0.6m, but was loaned out to Siena for the 2009-10 campaign and then handed to Bologna in a co-ownership deal in August 2010 for €2.4m.

The two clubs were unable to reach an agreement, so Juve won Ekdal in a blind auction, paying €1.3m for the remaining half of his contract.

tender Alex will be a waste of money. Lugano is the guy to get. We need a captain and a leader in many positions, but most importantly in the central defense. Chiellini needs some solidity and Lugano will provide that. Not to mention he is a very good marker on set peices. tender Alex is a pretty stupid defender. We have enough of those.

As for Mascherano. A Defensive Central Midfielder is the second most important positional disaster on this team after center back. Mascherano is an unrealistic signing though, because he is world class and in his prime. The only WC guys we can sign are over the hills or forgot abouts. We need a positionally briliant DM. Too bad we let Alou Diarra walk to Marseile for peanuts.

LW... well I prefer and Outside-In guy too, but the garbage we are being linked with in terns of Vargas, Giaccherini, and Elia makes me sigh with underwhelment. I have no idea why we have 0 faith in Giovinco. Whatever... What happened to links with Nani, Ribery? If we aren't going to sign someone world class, just dont sign anyone. Stop wasting money on trash that will eat up valuable salary space.

On the market players that we need to be looking at are Gastaldello, Cassano and Montolivo. Gastaldello is the perfect antecdote to Chiellini. He is playing in Serie B and is very affordable. He plays very controlled and mature for the NT and should be a nice, fairly priced option. Loan Bonucci who needs PT, or sell him see what I care. I will never forgive management for selecting Bonucci over Ranocchia.

Cassano is constantly linked with moves away from Milan and with all the attacking firepower and the cheap rate at which they signed him, Cassano would be sold to anyone who offers Milan a hot deal. How can we NOT do this? I just keep being confused by our asshole management.

IMO the best player in the world right now (after Lord Messi of course) is Diego Forlan. His emergence as a world class striker for Uruguay has vaulted them into being a serious world power. That guy has so much on-field charisma and character that it would be stupid to not send him a serious offer. Juventus lacks character. Forlan would raise the competitive level at practice, he would make our entire midfield work better with his stellar movement and would make Matri look as good as Pazzini looked when he played with Cassano. I have no clue why we are wasting money and salary on players that don't have half the class of Forlan.

The biggest DILEMA. Marchisio just doesn't fit in a 442. I said this years ago when we signed him and let Nocerino go. Marchisio (and now Pirlo) are the square pegs to the round hole. This team is built for a 433, yet we have a coach who beleives in a 442. What use is a CM of Pirlo and Marchisio? Even Pirlo/Vidal is going to leak like a fat chick with a heavy flow. Once again this team is being built by little kids playing FIFA games. Signing Lugano will help out set peice organization, but if our CM keeps leaking counter attacks like it did last year, we are fucked again.

This is common sense football knowledge. I have no clue how Beppe Marotta got his job. Maybe he sucks a mean cock? There is no way this guy can build a proper team. He was overrated in Sampdoria because he signed Cassano who made that whole team amazing. Marrotta did shit.'

I am once again not looking forward to next season unless we address the backbone of our 442.

Estigarribia on his way to Juve


Juventus have made a surprise move for Paraguay winger Marcelo Alejandro Estigarribia. “I’ll sign for a Serie A club.”

Just hours after agreeing a deal with Cesena for Emanuele Giaccherini, it seems that the Old Lady have lined up their second left-midfielder for boss Antonio Conte.

“I’ll be playing in Italy,” stated the 23-year-old. “I’ve been asked to not name the club before everything has been agreed.

“My agents are already in the country to finalise everything and I know the nature of the contract. I’ll arrive on loan with the option to buy.”

Although Estigarribia didn’t name Juventus, it’s no secret that the Copa America star is on his way to Turin.

The South American is actually contracted to French club le Mans, but he spent last term on loan in Argentina with Newell’s Old Boys.

The loan of the player has cost Juve around €450,000, while the option to buy clause is reportedly set at €5m

I quite liked what I saw of Estigarribia in the Copa America.

Looked a classic 4-4-2 winger: hard working, good crosser, good pace, decent dribbling.

No idea if he is normally as good as he was in the Copa, though.

Estigarribia is a like red describes. Let's see what he can do in Serie A.

Purchases like these are important. Sometimes these players "figure it out" and really contribute. Perhaps we can sell Pepe in the winter.

Yeh, I seen a fair of Estigarribia in the Copa America too. He did seem like a little live-wire, a skillful and quite direct winger, not afraid to take on his man. Like Red said though, can be hard to tell if he's the real deal from just a few games in a major tournament.

Does this imply that we may move Chiellini to LB by bringing in Lugano and Alves? That would certainly make our central defense much better, but I doubt we NEED both Alves and Lugano. I would take both of them however. I like that deal.

What we need is a defensive midfielder. Any combination of Marchisio, Pirlo, Vidal, Pazienza seems ugly. Pazienza is the best DM on our roster, but I doubt Conte will start him on a regular basis. The Pirlo signing was sexy, but he doesn't fit into a 4-4-2, especially with Vidal and Marchisio as his partner. No matter whom our CBs are, our defense will leak counter-attacks due to having a horrendous CM.

Marchisio and Pirlo are square pegs in round holes. We need to consider offloading these players if they can't establish themselves in this formation by mid-season. I know everyone is gay for Marchisio, but if he fails to play as a complete CM we have no use for him. His playing time will become sympathy selection as opposed to necessity. We could get a great player for Marchisio (Ranocchia? Abate/Cassano?)

I hope he works out, but I just see his ideal fit into a 4-3-3. He needs more freedom than a 4-4-2 represents and with aggressive wing play, the CM needs to be much more rigid than it is.
