Secondo quanto riportato dal sito Calciomercato.com, il Porto avrebbe accettato l'offerta di undici milioni per Fernando arrivata dalla Roma nei giorni scorsi; inoltre ci sarebbe anche un'intesa di massima con il centrocampista brasiliano.

La trattativa, però, sarebbe in una fase di stallo: Walter Sabatini, infatti, starebbe prendendo tempo con la speranza di riuscire a portare in giallorosso Casemiro, operazione, questa, legata all'eventuale cessione dell'extracomunitario Koffi in Belgio.

He's looked like he's been wearing eye-liner in every photo I've seen of him.

threadmund will be pleased that our nominal 4-3-3 on T'ursday resembled nothing so much as the 3-5-2 of the Scudetto days because when we have the ball the defensive midfielder quite literally falls back into line with the two CBs, releasing one or other of them a little bit, and, correspondingly, the central striker folds back into the midfield, becoming something much more like a trequartista. The left-sided forward kept width much more, with the right-sided one playing more through the middle, with obvious consequences for the two fullbacks: the right back has space to run into; the left back supports and overlaps in a different way. This is rather like an inverting of the Spags set-up in which Taddei kept shape down the right and Mancini/Vooch would play from out to in down the left, leaving room for Tonetto to over-lap more consistently and more aggressively than Cassetti did down the other wing. I can see that both Borriello and Okaka fit that right-sided forward role rather better than it might seem, though whether either of them will see much time in giallorosso this season, regardless, is a different question.

It also makes more sense in terms of getting the width from the fullbacks if they're thought of as wing-backs rather than true fullbacks. And explains why Verre - who has also been playing as a mezz'ala - has been presented in various articles as the vice-Totti (though I imagine Bojan will actually be the one to fill that role when needed), something which, on the face of it, looks a bit odd if Totti's position is imagined as the arrow-head of a front three and not as its pivot. Caprari did play much wider, though, than any of our forwards had in the earlier games I'd caught bits of.

Sure, Davit. I was just making a lame pun. Word has always been that he's in only to go on somewhere else, though presumably there's just a chance that it will be Rosi or one of the others who makes way if LE has seen something he does or doesn't Loic.

Perhaps they've been playing Cicinho just to try and trick someone into coming in with a bid for him, thinking that he's not actually quite so rubbish as he really is.

(Il Messaggero – S.Carina) Anche lui, nella seconda parte della carriera, ha convissuto con il dilemma: più punta o più centrocampista? Giuseppe Giannini, quarantasette anni compiuti ieri, regista della Roma fine anni ’80 e per un bel po’ degli anni ’90, ha cominciato come erede di Falcao poi ha fatto il trequartista, quindi l’attaccante, per poi tornare a centrocampo con Carlo Mazzone. Totale reti in maglia giallorossa: 75. Un anno, stagione 1988-1989, ha segnato undici gol. Qualche annetto dopo il dilemma gianniniano si ripropone: Lamela è centrocampista o attaccante?
Giannini, lei che ne pensa?
«Ho seguito alcune partite del Mondiale under 20: mi sembra che il ragazzo sia una seconda punta o che al limite gli piaccia fare il trequartista alle spalle di una prima punta».
Centrocampista no?
«No, non credo. Non ce lo vedo, sinceramente».
E nel 4-3-3, lei dove lo collocherebbe?
«Come ha detto lui, attaccante esterno di destra o di sinistra. Meglio a destra: essendo mancino puro avrà la possibilità di accentrarsi e andare alla conclusione. Tra l’altro ha un bel tiro dalla distanza».
Nei tre di metà campo sarebbe una forzatura, dunque.
«Penso di sì. In alcune situazioni può fare l’intermedio di sinistra, ma...».
Ma?
«Per giocare a metà campo devi affinare altre caratteristiche che lui, almeno per ora e vista la sua giovane età, non ha».
Quali?
«Deve migliorare sotto l’aspetto fisico, deve imparare a fare la fase difensiva e tra l’altro dovrà farla anche da attaccante. Interrompere l’azione e ripartire, questo è il compito del centrocampista. Ecco, lui ha il piede per rilanciare il gioco e i tempi per l’inserimento, meno l’agonismo».
Le piace Lamela, caratteristiche a parte?
«Sì, certo. Un ottimo talento, può diventare un grande giocatore. Ha molta qualità».
Di cosa avrà bisogno?
«Deve dimostrare più personalità, non deve essere timido. Deve essere più spregiudicato e a quel punto sarà più determinante di quanto non lo sia stato fino ad ora. E dovrà ambientarsi, ci vorrà inevitabilmente un po’ di tempo».

Report: Roma have Osvaldo deal
Reports in Spain insist Roma have already struck a €15m deal to sign striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo from Espanyol.

The 25-year-old Italian-Argentine has long been linked with a move to the Stadio Olimpico and negotiations intensified over the last few days.

According to Spanish newspaper Sport, the Giallorossi will buy Osvaldo for €15m plus another €3m in sponsorship agreements.

He played football for Italy at Under-21 level and can be used as a centre-forward or a wide man in the trident attack.

An official announcement is expected on Monday or Tuesday.

If Osvaldo does arrive, then that increases the likelihood Marco Borriello will leave Roma.
