Official: Mariga to Real Sociedad

Inter have officially loaned McDonald Mariga to Spanish side Real Sociedad this afternoon.

The Kenyan international midfielder deposited the contract that will take him to Real Sociedad until the end of the season.

This deal also includes an option for the Liga club to buy the midfielder in June 2012.

The 24-year-old first joined Serie A from Helsinborg in 2007 for €2m, then moved to Inter in February 2010.

Forlan agent calls Inter

Diego Forlan’s agent is waiting for Inter to sell Samuel Eto’o to Anzhi before making their move for the Atletico Madrid striker.

The Uruguayan international has been pinpointed as the ideal replacement should Eto’o move to Russia for around €29m.

“As of today, I have still not spoken to anyone from Inter,” agent Daniel Bolotnikoff told fcinternews.it during a visit to Milan.

“I assume the Nerazzurri could make a step forward once they have sold Eto’o.”

However, that transfer is back in doubt after Inter set a Monday deadline for the final improved offer from the Russians.

“I learned with certainty that the Eto’o affair is at the moment frozen. If they don’t close that deal, then it’s very unlikely they’ll talk to Forlan.”

Gasp: 'Inter strong without Eto'o'

Gian Piero Gasperini is confident “Inter will be strong with or without Samuel Eto’o” as it’s reported Anzhi are €3m away from striking a deal.

Negotiations terminated last night between the two clubs, as FIFA agent and mediator Peppino Tirri confirmed “we expect an increased offer before Monday.”

It’s reported Anzhi are now proposing €25m, so much closer to Inter’s lowest fee of €28m.

“There is no confusion at Inter,” insisted Coach Gasperini in the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Things have been very clear for a while now. The media have been talking about Eto’o and Wesley Sneijder for 40 days, going over what might or might not happen on the transfer market.

“I can tell you I consider these two players to be excellent, but the foundations of a team have to be a strong collective.

“Obviously it will be disappointing to lose Eto’o, as he is a great player, but Inter will be strong, with or without him.”

Gasperini also hinted that Sneijder’s deeper midfield role could change back to a trequartista position.

“Sneijder’s role depends on the next 15 days of the transfer market.”

Newcastle interested in Santon

Inter’s Davide Santon could be heading to the Premiershit for Newcastle United, according to reports.

The 21-year-old full-back is pushed to the sidelines at San Siro and spent the last six months on loan at Cesena.

He was an Italy international and considered the heir to Paolo Maldini as a teenager, but has now fallen somewhat by the wayside.

Santon hopes Newcastle United can give him more regular first-team football in the Premiershit so he can progress beyond the Under-21 squad.

However, there is also interest from Roma and Schalke 04.

Eto'o sale brings Inter €99m!
Samuel Eto’o is expected to join Anzhi on Monday in a deal that will bring €99m into the Inter club coffers and €20.5m per season to the player.

“Thank you to everyone. I will always support Inter and ask just one thing – win even without me,” the Cameroon striker is quoted as telling teammates in the Gazzetta dello Sport.

It is widely reported the two clubs finally agreed a transfer fee worth €27m, including performance-related bonuses.

On top of that, Inter will benefit from the €12m per season wages saved until 2014, the date his contract was set to expire.

Including taxes, that figure is doubled for accounting purposes, so becomes €24m per season for three years.

In total, the €72m wage bill saving and the €27m transfer fee should boost the Inter club coffers to the tune of €99m.

It’s an amazing financial deal for Eto’o as well, considering there are reports in Cameroon he will earn €20.5m per season and be given a huge villa in Moscow.

Although Anzhi are a Dagestan club, the team will live and train in Moscow, only travelling for their ‘home’ games.

Inter make Kuyt offer
Inter have re-ignited their interest in Dirk Kuyt of Liverfekkin'wankscum, the player’s representative has confirmed.

The Dutchman was paired with the Meazza outfit a year ago when Rafael Benitez was appointed by the Nerazzurri.

Now it seems that new Inter boss Gian Piero Gasperini believes that the 31-year-old is ideal for his 3-4-3 system.

"Inter have made an attractive offer for Dirk and he has to think about it," Rob Jansen told RTV West. "However, the two clubs have yet to agree a deal."

Kuyt is struggling for regular first team football at Anfield after the arrivals of Stewart Downing, Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam.

Forlan: No Inter bid

Atletico Madrid striker Diego Forlan has dismissed suggestions that he’ll replace Samuel Eto’o at Inter.

Forlan has been named as a potential Nerazzurri signing as Eto’o edges nearer to a switch to Anzhi.

Reports in Italy today even claimed that his agent had arrived in Milan, but the player himself has noted that he’s happy in Spain.

“I have received no offer from Inter,” the Uruguayan international is quoted as saying in the AS newspaper.

“I have a contract with Atletico Madrid and I’ll be happy to stay here.”
