Anderson's problem, I think, is just that he's a bit dumb and so takes a split-second too long to see things. This is no less of a problem for him playing as a regista, as he has been, or further forward as, of course, he used to in Portugal. This is probably terminal, though I think it's the only thing stopping him from being a really outstanding player.

Pazza Idea l'avrebbe denominata Patty Pravo così come una sua celebre canzone. Cassano alla Roma e Borriello al Milan, un ipotesi delirante da fantamercato, se non fosse che a darne credito è un giornale glorioso e poco incline agli strali di mercato come il Corriere della Sera.

Secondo il quotidiano milanese infatti Max Allegri riterebbe l'attaccante napoletano l'ideale vice Ibrahimovic ed inoltre i buoni rapporti che Marco Borriello vanta ancora con gran parte dello spogliatoio rossonero faciliterebbero il ritorno del centravanti giallorosso a Milanello. Mentre il ritorno del fantasista di Bari Vecchia sembra decisamente più improbabile dati gli strascici polemici che caratterizzano gli ultimi mesi, ma soprattutto l'addio ai colori giallorossi nel gennaio del 2006.

Eppure ci sarebbe già stata una lunga telefonata fra Cassano e il capitano romanista Totti per valutare i riscontri di questa trattativa. E proprio Francesco Totti si sarebbe espresso in maniera lusinghiera, nonostante il turbolento passato fra i due, proprio come il "Pibe de Bari" per indurlo a risposare la causa della Lupa.

Infatti Antonio Cassano nel 4-3-3 che sta plasmando Luis Enrique sarebbe un elemento decisamente più congeniale rispetto a Borriello che sull'out esterno non può agire e centralmente è chiuso proprio dal Totem romano. Che sia un'ipotesi fattibile o solamente una suggestione ferragostana lo scopriremo solamente nei prossimi giorni, intanto la voce di un duplice possibile ritorno al futuro di Cassano e Borriello ha già scatenato il tam tam mediatico di entrambe le tifoserie...

Maro, Fabs is tricky indeed. I initially thought he was box to box from what ive seen at Arsenal. There are quite a few plays as a ball winner, he quickly plays a couple 1-2s with anyone down the middle to get forward to tee up a shot on goal. I think this was back when Fabs was pretty tops, taking them to the CL final and being all talismanic. Positionally though, he strikes me more of a regista and is in line with what Red has said about Arteta and Charlie Adam. However, i dont think Arteta and Charlie Adam's offensive play are limited to just FKs and PKs, so i made the claim that they have a bit box to box in them.

Thanks Davit for the article, it was educational in regards to the decline in wingers in Italy and pin-pointing the differences between most of the positions. Im still used to calling CAMs as OMFs due to the amount of Winning Eleven i used to play though heh. Also wish they could've dropped more info on mezz'alas and a couple existing players in that position.

Shield, great add on Scott Parker, though i think he's quite the carbon copy to Lampard. Wilshere is fairly top class being able to play regista lately under Capello and box to box for Arsenal. He's really well rounded unlike Rodwell. Rodwell seems more of a holding midfielder (them English dont use anchor), being able to play in CB positions as well. Not sure what tactical advantage Everton get out of playing him in more attacking roles though.

Lucho is also a holding midfielder that can play just about anywhere in midfield. Very similar to Perrotta but technically more gifted

Arsewipe have tended to play a holding midfielder - Song, I guess, though others have certainly played there - whose defensive responsibilities release players like Wilshere or Fabregas. In fact, the Arsewipe 4-5-1 is one in which there are natural 'mezz'ale', though the English wouldn't think to call them that. Song is more Makelele than Pirlo, of course, but that's exactly the point - the position is a mix of defensive anchor and, then, when the ball is won back, pivot at the bottom of the midfield.

Forgot to update you guys on the U-20 WC. Not sure how many of you are following but we do have a couple players in there, so i figure it's worth the mention. Semis take place tomorrow night with only Loic Nego and target Brazilian, Casemiro still in the running. Lamela's Argie team bowed out to Portugal so we should be expecting Lamela back at our training grounds fairly soon. Shame they didn't get to semis too, would've been nice to see how Nego and Lamela stack up against each other; one being an RB, the other an OMF that favours the left. I dont have any further info on Casemiro but our interests in him are pure speculation for now and im wouldnt want to meet some 25mil price tag for a 19yr old

Lamela's supposed to be in training from Thursday, Pocari, with an eye on integrating him into the squad for the second game of the Serie A season - against Cagliari. One of the pieces I posted earlier today was a stern questioning of Casemiro's value - though I'm afraid to say I have no idea who Sabatino Durante is and, so, whether his opinion is worth attending to.

Not really, Davit; I've always thought of him as more of a destructive player than a technically able one going forward. I should have thought Muntari would be a less bad fit, for instance.
