4 players would be ideal but we probably won't get them. May be if we manage to sell Mariga, Muntari and Pandev but that looks more and more unlikely.

From what I read, it is either Lavezzi or Tevez. We might get Kucka and sign Casmerio in a joint deal with Genoa,with him spending next season there rather than with us.

40m for a 30 year old player is a very good deal, even if we are talking about our best player. We'll have to see how much of that money we will invest back ... if we get Lavezzi (maybe Pandev can be inserted in the deal) and Tevez, I think we will still have a good forward line (and a younger one too).

Kuchka is the right name for the mf. I am very curious and anxiously awaiting to see what will happen.

€40m Eto’o will join Anzhi

Reports from Russia are claiming that Inter have agreed to sell Samuel Eto’o to Anzhi Makhachkala.

The Russians have been in Italy this week to talk terms with the Nerazzurri and an agreement is understood to have been reached.

Anzhi, it is claimed, will pay the Nerazzurri a massive €40m for the 30-year-old Cameroon international.

The striker himself will supposedly net a whopping €15m a season from the Russian club.

Eto’o joined Inter in 2009 from Barcelona as part of the deal which saw Zlatan Ibrahimovic move to the Nou Camp.

In 101 games for the Nerazzurri in all competitions, Eto’o has scored an impressive 53 times.

Didn't you guys tell me that you hadn't overspent on any big transfers for the past four or five years now? Chivu, Eto'o, Pandev, Sneijder, Lucio etc. all having come for fairly reasonable transfer fees? And then when I tried to point out the outlay on wages you wouldn't hear it? It's the same with the Bilanisti now and their delight at the apparent cut-prices that have taken Robinho and Ibra there. Most fans are still locked into a totally outdated model of thinking that the principle outlay of a transfer comes in the transfer fee; you guys are getting a glimpse into the not-quite-so-new world order.

Well, I think you started to change your tune about 15 months ago. These conversations go back further than that - when some of you were trying to claim that the days of Sphincter's big-spending were already behind them, as the relatively sensible expenditure on Sneijder, Eto'o, etc. apparently illustrated.

However isn't that already a good starting point? You can't expect to have a big spender like Inter, suddenly paying little on transfer fees as well as finding players with a low salary. It is a gradual process. We started off since a couple of years ago to have a positive annual turnover with regards to transfers. Now we're looking at lowering the salaries.

I think you're missing my point, Lomba - the expense of those deals was in the wages, because the landscape had already changed. Real didn't need to demand a higher transfer fee for Sneijder because the value in the deal, for them, was always in getting his wages off their books. Getting you to take on Eto'o's wages was an especially important part of the Ibra deal for Barca. That you paid such extravagant wages for them was what made them just as much big money deals as any of those you made five years ago - it was just that the cost of the deals was dressed up in a slightly different way.

Again, you're missing the point, Lomba, but never mind. Perhaps I could simply ask what wages Recoba was on and how do they compare to the 160000 pounds-a-week Nasri's supposedly going to go onto at ManShitty?

Recoba at one point was around 8M euros a year, which with the Italian taxes would add up to 16M a year for Inter.

Juve offered Aguero wages of about 8m per year gross, but Man City are giving him 12m.
