Inter were too static in possession.

Sure, things will get better with Maicon and Nagatomo in the team, but Sneijder and Alvarez really needed to get closer to Eto'o. As it was, Eto'o kept dropping off to get the ball, rather than looking in behind and stretching the game, so it was prett easy for Milan to contain Inter.

I can't recall Inter creating a genuine chance in the game.

Sneijder: 'Inter need money'

Wesley Sneijder has told Dutch media he is on the market. “I only know Inter need money and I could leave if the right offer comes in.”

The midfielder has been repeatedly linked with Manchester United and Manchester City over the summer with a €36m price-tag.

He refused to speak to the Italian newspapers after the 2-1 Italian Super Cup defeat to Milan, but was quoted in Holland.

“I only know Inter need money and I could leave if the right offer comes in,” he told Voetbal International.

“I have a five-day holiday after Wednesday’s friendly against England and I hope the issues regarding my future can be clarified during that time off.

“I am proud to hear both United and City are interested in me, but so far I have not had contact with either club.

“When it comes to my future, that is all I can say.”

Do Inter really need the money? I mean, what is your financial situation like? Moratti has been sitting on his cheque book for a while now, but its not like things are desperate or anything, is it?

Sure Inter are worried about the new FPF regulations. We should be worried just as much as most other Big European clubs..but apparently we seem to be taking this more seriously than most other clubs, even though they are not in a better situation. Our main problem, together with that of all the rest of Italian clubs is a club owned stadium. The new FPF rules are mainly focused on the yearly club's turnover. Whereas big spenders like Chelsea or Real Madrid might spend millions upon millions and still have a balanced yearly turnover due to merchandize and stadium income, we Italians (bar Juve at this point) have to pay attention to every penny we spend and have to balance our expenditure with our income in terms of sales. That is why we are so concerned about spending. We dont have any other means of balancing our books at the end of the year apart from actually selling our goods.

Inter buy half of Kucka
Genoa have reportedly agreed to sell a 50 per cent share of Juraj Kucka to Inter – but both want him for the 2011-12 season.

The Slovakian has numerous admirers in Italy and beyond, with the two Milan clubs very interested in his signature.

According to stories on Monday, the Nerazzurri have finally agreed economical terms with Genoa for the 24-year-old.

It is being claimed that Inter have agreed to pay €8m to the Marassi outfit in order to take co-ownership of the midfielder.

However, the deal has yet to be closed given that the two clubs have still not agreed on where he will be playing in the new season.

Inter want the player at their disposal immediately, but Genoa chief Enrico Preziosi would rather hold on to him for one more season before sending him away next summer.

Genoa signed Kucka in January for just €3m from Sparta Prague.

Moratti: 'We'll evaluate Eto'o offer'

Inter President Massimo Moratti confirmed they “will evaluate the Anzhi offer along with Samuel Eto’o and our directors.”

Marco Branca said earlier today that the Nerazzurri had received a proposal from the Russian side for their star striker.

Now the club patron has come out with an official statement on the Inter website.

“The offer can be described as interesting, intelligent, congruous and worthy of the player,” said Moratti.

“I won’t judge whether it qualifies as an ‘indecent’ offer or not, but I can say it is intelligent and equal to the value of the player.

“We will evaluate the offer along with Eto’o and our directors in the next few days.”

It’s reported Anzhi have proposed around €30m plus a contract worth a world record €17m per season.

Moratti had said earlier this summer he would only release Eto’o for an ‘indecent proposal.’

He was clearly our best player last year, this does not sound good. We should be selling him for 50m. I hope we have some one lined up to replace him.

From a financial viewpoint, looking at those figures, it does seem like an offer which would be too good to ignore and flatly turn down, so I wouldn't blame any club owner (bar those stupid foreign Arab/oil club owners for whom money isn't a problem) for seriously considering it. Eto is 30-years-of-age, isn't he? So 30m+ for him plus getting rid of his huge wages is a serious offer. Obviously, though, it would make yis a lot weaker as a team and so bar a valid replacement like Tevez coming in you would have to consider the clubs ambitions. A question mark would have to hang over Eto's ambitions, too, if he were to accept this move. A move to some Russian club who most people have never even heard off before just because the paycheck is ridiculously good is dodgy.

Eto'o has already accepted the offer since his agent yesterday said that he has already agreed terms with the Russians. All that remains is an agreement between both clubs, but given the fact that Branca yesterday said that these deals cant be finalized in an evening + the presence of Rinaldo Ghelfi (he only moves when there are contracts to be signed) at the meeting, is a clear sign that all 3 parties are close to an agreement.
Whereas it's true that without Eto'o, we currently are much weaker, it's also true that all depends on how this amount will be used. 2 years ago, I was one of the desperados crying for Ibra's departure...only to see us re-construct an even more formidable squad and go to win the triplette. Now it's not that I believe anything like that will ever happen again..but I've learned to not judge a move but a campaign. If we sell Eto'o (probably our last chance to get some good money..) and even if consequently we sell Sneijder, I wont say anything. I will make an opinion on the 31st august, when the whole picture will be available. Knowing Moratti though, I find it difficult to believe he'd actually have less ambitions..

Eto’o to Anzhi ‘practically agreed’

Samuel Eto’o is seriously considering a move from Inter to Anzhi Makhachkala, his representative has confirmed.

Speaking with Russian website Sports.ru, Claudio Vigorelli confirmed the expectation that the striker would be sold.

“We have practically reached an agreement with Anzhi,” Vigorelli noted. “Hopefully, the clubs will now also agree between themselves.

“Did Predrag Mijatovic represent Anzhi? Predrag is a friend of Samuel and Anzhi director German Chistyakov, therefore he was present during the negotiations.”

It is being claimed that the Russian outfit have made Inter an offer of between €30m and €40m for the Cameroon star.

It is also being suggested that the player himself will net a massive €17m a season while with Anzhi Makhachkala.

“Unfortunately, the media have been reporting false figures in relation to Samuel’s contract,” insisted Vigorelli.

“But I will repeat, we have practically agreed things with Anzhi.”

Inter confirmed yesterday, through transfer chief Marco Branca and owner Massimo Moratti, that they are considering the sale of Eto’o.

The Italian media are already speculating that the Nerazzurri will target Carlos Tevez of Manchester City once Eto’o departs.
