Ogbonna, certainly, is a player who I'd very much like for us to sign and I think its a little strange that we haven't been linked with him more. He's a very promising defender who's already part of Prandelli's plans so I think he'd be a good signing, and az I may have mentioned once or 1,047 times, we are alarmingly short of centre-halfs as things stand.

Stefano De Grandis, giornalista di Sky, ha parlato del modulo adottato da Prandelli in vista dell’amichevole con la Spagna analizzando la posizione di Daniele De Rossi, schierato da intermedio alla destra di Pirlo:

“Credo che Prandelli punti molto su di lui, ma è l’elemento sacrificato. A lui piace molto giocare davanti alla difesa e quest’anno nella Roma giocherà quasi come terzo stopper. De Rossi, come è capitato con Ranieri, deve sacrificarsi a fare l’intermedio e a giocare spesso davanti alla linea del pallone. Non è una cosa che gli piace molto ma è dispostissimo a sacrificarsi. Secondo me perde una parte del potenziale, essendo fortissimo di testa e nel fare interdizione, diventa uno dei centrocampisti più forti di Europa. Giocando da mediano un po’ meno. Nella Roma ritroverà la posizione che predilige con Luis Enrique e il numero che ha scelto, il 5 del volante brasiliano o di Falcao, assomiglia al modo in cui vuole giocare

I am fairly young so I can only compare them to players I can rememeber, but we have a much better squad of players and talent in Italy than we did before Euro 2008 or South Africa in my opinion

How old are you, Aldair? I think red's point, in the final analysis, is that it's harder to get grumpy about the club's signing players of the calibre or apparent potential of Stekelenburg, Lamela, Bojan, even Angel, if reports are to be believed, though they're usually not, when there aren't realistic options of the same calibre who are also Italian. It makes more sense to grumble when the club signs Riise and Burdisso and Menez rather than Criscito and Ranocchia and Pazzini (let's say).
