i don't think there is any way you will catch manchester now and top the group, which may mean a barcelona, chelsea or arsenal in the next round. you'd actually have a decent enough chance against arsenal, but it wouldn't look too good against the first two. on the other hand, facing the winner of group a would probably not be too bad.

I am watching the game now and I have to say that I think some of you are being much too hard on Mexes. I thought he played a pretty good first half and I am not willing to go as far as blaming him for the goal, even partially.

I agree with what these Brits are saying on setanta that Doni has no command of his area and on the goal there was clearly a lack of communication. Beyond this Mexes is trying to do everything and all Doni had to do is call him off and he should have easily secured the ball. Also, we are damn lucky to get out of there with a draw. Doni completely fucked up on 12 minutes and Sporting should have been given a goal. We were very fortunate that the linesman thought Doni had possession of the ball and was fouled, causing him to lose control.

I don't know what Juan was doing on the second goal but certainly Doni had no chance to make a save.

Also, I am sorry for blowing a gasket when we gave up the second goal. I am emotional, what can I say. After thinking about it, watching the match and reading some of your well thought out posts, I am probably the most guilty as far as being too harsh on the boys. I fail to remember that we have a number of injuries to significant players who have to play an important role if Roma is to be successful. As Maro said, we really have not played with a fully healthy squad all season. Plus, Totti has been out of action. I know he is one man, but just think of the adjustment that other teams would have to make if they lose one of best players in the world.

One other thing men. Do you feel better or worse after todays draw, than after losing to ManU?
