Viviano flattered by interest - Bologna keeper linked with Inter and Fiorentina
Bologna goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano has admitted it is flattering to be connected with a number of great clubs.
Inter Milan co-own the 24-year-old's rights and speculation suggests they will look to bring him in.
Fiorentina are also reportedly interested in securing his services, although Viviano insists he is not desperately seeking a departure from Bologna.
"I'm pleased to be linked with great teams like Inter, who co-own my rights, and Fiorentina, the team of which I am fan, but I don't know anything more about these voices," Viviano told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I am equally pleased that Bologna consider me unsellable.
"I'm happy here and I signed a contract for five years, but the future is unpredictable."
Serie A Week 19 - 10/1/10 (14.00 UK)
Bologna - Cagliari
Stadio Dall'Ara
Bologna may be turning to Manchester United teenager Federico Macheda to solve their scoring crisis as they have struck a paltry three goals in their last four – drawing two blanks. With only one of those coming from an out-and-out forward they certainly need to pep up their frontline.
The home side have been in wretched form recently, with just one win in their last five outings. However, on home soil their record does not shape up too badly – three wins from four, and the solitary loss coming in the visit from leaders Inter.
Cagliari, meanwhile, have also found themselves in something of a rut. After racking up four consecutive wins in October and November they now are in a system of one win in five. Worryingly they have won just once in their last four trips out on the road.
The thing that is in favour of Massimo Allegri’s side at present is their resilience late in the game. Against Roma in Week 18 two goals in the dying seconds earned a draw, while against Napoli a turnaround in the last 15 minutes saw them go from 2-0 down to 3-2 up before surrendering at 3-3.
Last time out it was Cagliari who left the victors. A half-time goal from Robert Acquafresca sealed a 1-0 win back in March 2009. Similarly to now both sides were in the doldrums and Bologna felt that they had earned a late point when Massimo Marazzina nodded home, alas it was flagged offside.
Historically this tie is finely balanced, with three wins each dating back through the six top-flight meetings since 1991. Bologna’s strongest showing was a 3-0 result in May 1997 while Cagliari fondly recall a 3-1 win recorded in May 1999.
The Renato Dall’Ara side have a few selection issues as defender Cristian Zenoni and middle man Francesco Valiani serve suspensions while midfield quartet Massimo Mutarelli, Stephen Appiah, Nicola Mingazzini and Luca Vigiani are all unavailable through injury.
The visitors also have worries as defender Michele Canini is suspended and goalkeeper Cristiano Lupatelli, defenders Diego Lopez and Francesco Pisano, plus midfielder Mario Brkljaca are all on the treatment table.
Keep an eye on: Alessandro Matri (Cagliari) – The Milan youth product has been in grand form recently. Seven goals in his last eight games make him the Isolani’s clear danger man.
Last five in Serie A: Bologna (L D W L L) Cagliari (L W L D D)
Marco Di Vaio earned a potentially decisive relegation dogfight victory at the Stadio Picchi.
This was a classic six-pointer between teams who had only just clambered out of the drop zone and had no intention of going back. Livorno were revitalised after Serse Cosmi's resignation was rejected, earning 1-1 draws with both Milan and Juventus. Bologna were in their best form of the season, unbeaten in five fixtures, but Cristiano Lucarelli was suspended and Francesco Tavano injured. It meant fielding two ex-Rossoblu strikers upfront. The Rossoblu missed Massimo Mutarelli, Andrea Pisanu and Gimenez.
Bologna also lost Francesco Modesto after just nine minutes to a muscular problem, making way for Casarini.
Livorno were founded 95 years ago today and they had an early chance to open the scoring. Emiliano Viviano parried a Dario Knezevic snapshot on to the feet of Tomas Danilevicius, then scrambled that out for a corner.
However, it was Bologna who took the lead when a low Casarini cross from the left went through Davide Succi's dummy to find Marco Di Vaio undisturbed for a tap-in.
Antonio Busce' almost made it 2-0 on the half-hour mark, as he smashed a left-foot daisy-cutter from outside the box that struck the base of the upright.
Bad news for Bologna, as Di Vaio pulled up with a suspected thigh strain and made way for Martins Adailton. This meant Franco Colomba had to make two substitutions in the opening 36 minutes.
Viviano dropped a free kick, but was fortunate his defence managed to scramble clear. Danilevicius' header from a Raimondi assist was charged down.
Straight after the restart Viviano fingertipped a Bellucci effort for a corner and struggled a little to get the resulting corner under control.
Danilevicius got a glancing header to a David Di Gennaro free kick to turn it inches over the bar. The tension got to Serse Cosmi, who was sent off for dissent and vented his fury at one of the linesmen on the hour mark.
Incredibly Bologna were forced into a third substitution due to Davide Succi's injury. They still clung to the victory, as Di Gennaro's volley was smothered, Vitale fired over and Pulzetti skimmed the woodwork.

Lecce 0 - 1 Bologna Ramirez 33 (B) Stadio Via Del Mare
Gaston Ramirez gave Bologna the victory that secures their Serie A status and plunges unlucky Lecce into the depths of the relegation zone. There was controversy, as did Daniele Corvia's shot cross the line?
This was Bologna's opportunity to put their safety beyond doubt and even mount a late Europa League challenge. Despite a three-point penalty due to financial problems, the Felsinei were having a great season. Albin Ekdal, Andrea Esposito, Cherubin and Gyorgy Garics didn't make the trip.
Lecce were in the thick of the relegation scrap and had picked up some very impressive results recently, including victories over Juventus and Parma, holding Milan and Fiorentina. Andrea Rispoli sat out a ban with the injured David Di Michele, Edward Ofere, Alberto Giuliatto and Stefano Ferrario.
Lecce's last Serie A victory in this fixture was 1-0 in 2001, but six of their total 10 meetings here ended in draws plus two wins apiece.
Daniele Corvia's free kick was fingertipped out from under the crossbar. Moments later Lecce did beat Emiliano Viviano with a looping Jeda header from a corner, but Della Rocca was there for the crucial goalline clearance.
Bologna were far more clinical and took the lead with their first opportunity of the game. Marco Di Vaio was tackled in the box to stop him turning in Massimo Mutarelli's cross, but Gaston Ramirez was there to follow through.
Lecce were furious on the stroke of half-time, as they thought the ball had crossed the line. Corvia pounced on a defensive error and smacked the half-volley, which bounced off the underside of the bar and landed on the line. It's unclear whether it crossed over completely, but certainly some of the ball was in.
Moments later Bologna threatened to go 2-0 up, as Rosati managed to stop Ramirez on the counter in a one-on-one. Ruben Olivera knocked on a corner for Corvia, who came sliding in and just failed to make contact.
The tension exploded into a touchline row, as Javier Ernesto Chevanton was substituted after just 20 minutes and hurled abuse at Coach Gigi De Canio.
Goalkeeper Viviano got a very nasty facial injury when he came out to parry a corner, accidentally receiving studs in the face from Vives. Corvia did put the ball in the net, but obviously the goal was disallowed. Italy goalkeeper Viviano looks like he will need stitches and was substituted.
Brescia got the victory they needed by sweeping past Bologna 3-1 to keep their safety hopes alive.
All the pressure was on the home side, who were in 19th place and desperate to avoid relegation. Bologna practically secured their place in Serie A already and could even push for the Europa League. Alessandro Diamanti was surprisingly dropped in favour of Eder and Andrea Caracciolo, the latter returning from suspension.
It took just four minutes to break the deadlock at the Rigamonti. Eder spread the play for Zambelli, whose cross found a free header from Hetemaj amid a distracted Bologna defence.
At the ninth it was already 2-0. Another header, but this time the Eder assist came straight from the corner flag for defender Davide Zoboli to give it the spin needed as it looped into the far top corner.
Bologna, wearing a yellow jersey, finally managed to get out of their own half with a Marco Di Vaio effort straight at the goalkeeper.
A fine give-and-go between Caracciolo and Eder was interrupted at the last moment by Daniele Portanova. Albin Ekdal picked up an injury, as Bologna were clinging to 'just' being 2-0 down.
Emiliano Viviano was facing his former club and required a stunning save on 26 minutes to parry both Zoboli's header and the Accardi follow-up.
Moments later, the visitors got back into the game. Di Vaio sprung the offside trap and picked his spot to beat the on-rushing Arcari.
Around 60 seconds later there was another huge opportunity, as Caracciolo caught out the Bologna defence to go clear on goal, but his finish was too weak and Viviano got enough on it to deny a goal.
Portanova's weak header and an Eder volley were dealt with as the half came to a close.
After the break Viviano again had his reflexes tested by a Caracciolo header, while a Francesco Della Rocca free kick was not dealt with effectively, eventually forcing Jonathan Zebina to scramble a clearance.
Brescia restored their two-goal cushion thanks to a clear penalty, as Miguel Angel Britos stopped the Accardi solo run with a mistimed tackle. Caracciolo hit the spot-kick against the underside of the crossbar, but it still ricocheted into the net.
Caracciolo fell awkwardly on to his shoulder and had to carry on after several minutes of treatment, because Brescia had completed their substitutions. There was also a scare when Berardi's backpass almost took Arcari by surprise.
As expected, Robert Acquafresca has completed his transfer from Genoa to Bologna on loan with an option to buy half his contract.
There were already strong reports this morning that the deal was done and this evening the Rossoblu announced the news on their official website.
“Bologna FC 1909 confirm an agreement has been reached with Genoa Cfc for the temporary transfer of Robert Acquafresca, including an option to buy half his contract.”
The forward spent last season on loan at Cagliari, scoring eight goals, and grew up in the Torino youth academy.
Bologna have signed former West Ham United striker Alessandro Diamanti from relegated Brescia, the club announced via an official statement on Monday.
The 28-year-old was linked with a variety of clubs this summer after his former side were relegated from the Italian top-flight.
Shakhtar Donetsk, Wolfsburg, Sampdoria and Fiorentina were all associated with the Italian, but Bologna have landed him for next term.
Details of the transfer remain undisclosed, but a statement on Bologna's official website reads:
"Bologna FC 1909 communicates to have reached an agreement with Brescia Calcio for the transfer of Alessandro Diamanti on a co-ownership deal."
Diamanti becomes the latest player to join Bologna following the arrivals of goalkeepers Dejan Stojanovic from Lustenau and Federico Agliardi from Padova two weeks ago.
I'm not entirely sure why, but I think Diamanti is a very good player. He's technically very strong - passing, touch, flicks, free kicks, long range shooting is all there in abundance. I know if he was as good as I'm making out then he'd have done more in his career than Livorno, West Ham, Brescia and Bologna, it's just every time I watch him he impresses me.......
Bologna have confirmed the season-long loan signing of Brescia midfielder Panagiotis Kone.
Kone arrives initially on a temporary basis, but Pierpaolo Bisoli's men will have the option to buy him permanently next summer, although financial details of the deal remain undisclosed.
The Serie A outfit were desperately seeking a replacement for the recently-departed Francesco Della Rocca, after he completed his move to Palermo, but they have acted quickly to snap up the 24-year-old.
Kone, who can also play on the right wing, is a full Greece international, with four caps to his name and was a regular starter for Brescia, who were relegated to Serie B last season.
Meanwhile, Bologna have also announced that winger Andrea Pisanu has left to join Lega Pro side Prato on loan for the upcoming campaign.
Pioli replaces Bisoli at Bologna www.uefa.com – Published: Tuesday 4 October 2011, 16.24CET
Hours after announcing the departure of Pierpaolo Bisoli, Serie A strugglers Bologna FC have unveiled his successor, the former US Città di Palermo coach Stefano Pioli.
The 45-year-old former AC Chievo Verona tactician, who was sacked as coach of US Città di Palermo days before the beginning of the season, has agreed a two-year-deal with the Felsinei, whom he is charged with guiding away from the foot of the league table. Bologna have so far accrued just one point from five games.
Former defender Pioli, who won a Scudetto and a European Champion Clubs' Cup during his playing career at Juventus, left Chievo at the end of the season, after helping the Clivensi retain their Serie A status. He has also been in charge of US Sassuolo Calcio, Parma FC and Piacenza Calcio.
Bisoli made way following Sunday's 2-0 league defeat at Udinese Calcio. He only joined Bologna in the summer after losing his first Serie A coaching post at Cagliari Calcio early last term. The former Cagliari midfielder, who had previously guided AC Cesena to promotion to the top flight, is the fourth Serie A coach to lose his job this season after Roberto Donadoni (Cagliari), Gian Piero Gasperini (FC Internazionale Milano) and Pioli (Palermo).
