Unless someone leaves I don't think Tevez will be a big improvement for us. He played well in City as a false 9 and was pretty poor for Argentina out wide. With Pazzini, Milito and Eto'o well established I can only see him playing wide. It would be a total waste to spend 40m on him IMO. The 3-4-3 requires the wide players in the front three to provide width and creativity, I don't think Tevez can do either of that really well, he has other characteristics.

Report: Inter beat Barca to Rodriguez

It is rumoured Inter have beaten competition from Barcelona to snap up Spanish starlet Alejandro Rodriguez.

The trequartista turns 18 this year and plies his trade for Las Palmas.

Barça had shown great interest in the young Spaniard, but it’s reported Inter have swooped first.

Rodriguez could be at the Appiano Gentile training ground as early as next week.

Inter close on Casemiro

Inter are said to be closing on a deal for Sao Paolo star Carlos Henrique Casemiro worth around €15m.

The Brazilian midfielder is one of the hottest properties on the South American transfer market this summer.

He has been linked to the likes of Napoli, Milan, Juventus and Genoa in recent weeks.

The latest reports suggest Inter have beaten the competition to secure a €15m deal with Sao Paolo.

Casemiro is a Brazilian Under-20 international and won the South American Youth Championship in 2011.

Nagatomo out for two months?

There are reports Inter’s Yuto Nagatomo could be out for two months if he requires surgery for that dislocated shoulder.

The Japanese international was stretchered off just 10 minutes into Saturday’s 2-0 win over Celtic in Dublin.

He flew back to Milan this morning with members of the Nerazzurri medical staff.

Although there is no official statement yet, Sky Sport Italia suggest Nagatomo could require surgery to correct the dislocation of his right shoulder.

If the operation is needed, then the winger could be out of action for around two months.

With less than a month to the closing of the transfer window I think we can start passing a few comments ...

I think that this transfer window has been a disappointing one. Alvarez is a talent but he has to first adapt to the Serie A. Jonathan is a complete shot in the dark - I wonder how come he wasn't a first choice in Santos ... then we had the return of Viviano, who was very unlucky to get injured - we could have used him in a part exchange, Santon who remains a mystery and Muntari who will probably be sold on the first occasion. Castagnios is too young and too inexperienced to join the first squad. Ah yes, I' m glad we have bought the second half of Nagatomo.

I think we need at least 2 other players to have a complete squad, especially given Gasperini's ideas. Gasp loves playing with wide wings that participate in both phases of the game ... Eto'o can play there, true, but he is more dangerous centrally. Pandev has partly played there with Mou, but has disappointed greatly last season. Hence, I think we badly need another player in that position. We also badly need a young mf with the right balance between quantity and quality. Zanetti, Cambiasso and Deki are past their prime. Muntari will probably be sold and Thiago Motta is too injury prone. A mf should be a high priority for us. In defence I guess we'll be ok, especially if Samuel recovers well enough from the injury.

Jonathon? Perhaps Jonathon may turn out to be a decent player but what this shows is that we are not going to give Santon a chance. Ridiculous!
Viviano. Now us buying Viviano (accidentally) made me happy. But the way we are treating him by pretty much saying if we can get money for you we will sell you has disappointed me. I was hoping we would loan him out this season and bring him back next season. I don't trust J. Cesar any more. I am hoping he is not going to be out number 1 next season but the way things are shaping up is that Viviano will be sold next window (won't be sold now due to his injury) and Cesar will stay our number 1.

The outlook...
I am really frustrated so far and expect this season to be a bigger failure than the last. Where is the intention of buying young and selling old? Are we going to start to resemble pre-calciopoli days? Sure I may be sounding over dramatic and there is still close to 30 days for this transfer window left but there just does not seem to be any intentions.

Lomba^ I think you hit the nail in the head when you said - the only players we can sell are the ones we want to keep.

I too am disapointed about Santon potentially not getting more games here, the guy has potential.

Btw, i'm just back from holiday in lake Garda, is there a certain place to post photos on this forum?

I managed to attend Inter's first game of the season in Rovereto (4-1 win against Cremonese). Was great seeing the team live in such a small town

We will lose the super cup and we will start panicking in the last 15 days of the transfer market. Just like last year, we will make an offer for every player we can think of and get rejected because no one wants to sell 10-15 days before the season starts.

I think our targets still are Casmeiro and Palacio but we need to get players out before we can buy them like Lomba said. Muntari rejected a move to Galatasaray when he very well knows he will get no playing time here. I can't believe there is no interest in Mariga, he was considered a good prospect just 2 years ago. Pandev has had a decent pre-season so I don't mind him staying.
