Welcome to the forums, Grande Gigi. As Taz said, this forum is very user friendly, in that we don't impose any real rules or restrictions and we all chip together to maintain the forums and do things the way we all like. We have a real good bunch of lads (and ladies) here, added to with all the crowd from CalcioUK, with more joining all the time.

The server is currently experiencing some speed issues at the moment with longer loading speeds at times, but its been sorted out, keep an eye on the for more updates.

Atalanta have signed defender Stefano Lucchini from Sampdoria, while Parma brought in the son of Coach Franco Colomba.

Centre-back Lucchini was sold to newly-promoted Atalanta on a permanent basis, announced the club.

The 30-year-old will undergo his medical on Thursday morning and begin training with his new teammates that afternoon.

In other transfer news, Parma have signed the 23-year-old son of Coach Colomba.

Defender Davide Colomba had spells at Bologna and Foggia, but made the transfer today from Spal.

Fiorentina have loaned 20-year-old Max Taddei to Carrarese.

The Serie A fixtures for the 2011-12 campaign will be unveiled on the evening of Wednesday 27 July. The date was confirmed by the Lega Serie A on Thursday, who added that the ceremony will start at 8pm local time and will be broadcast live in Italy on Sky Sport 1.

There is still no date for the release of the Serie B fixtures.

Honduran striker David Suazo has returned to Cagliari after he was released by Inter Milan earlier this summer.

The 31-year-old has signed a one-year deal at the Stadio Saint'Elia, with the option for a further season.

Suazo spent eight years at Sardinian side Cagliari before departing for the San Siro in 2007, but struggled to establish himself with the Nerazzurri.

After being sent out on loan stints to Benfica and Genoa during his second and third seasons at Inter, the striker failed to make a single appearance last term.

Rossoblu president Massimo Cellino expressed his interest in re-signing Suazo earlier this month, and the Serie A club has now confirmed the deal has been completed.

"It took about half an hour for president Massimo Cellino and Honduras striker David Suazo to reach an agreement," said a statement on Cagliari's official website.

"The agreement is for one year's deal with the possibility of a renewal."

I had forgotton all about Suazo. Can't believe he was inter for all of last year and didn't play.

Ciao ferri, welcome to the forums. Yeh its mad to think Suazo was on Inter's books for all of last season and didn't make one appearance. Surely he should have been loaned out or something? I wonder how not playing in ages will effect his performances.

All 20 Serie A captains signed a letter warning they’ll strike for the opening weekend of the season unless the collective bargaining contract is signed.
There were threats of a strike last year over this same issue and they agreed to postpone the action to give more time for negotiations.

However, the season is set to begin on August 27-28 and the Lega Serie A (the union of clubs) has still not signed the deal with the Players’ Association.

“The Serie A players want to make the public aware of the disconcerting situation around the collective bargaining contract,” read the open letter released by the AIC.

“The agreement reached by the delegation of the AIC and the Lega Serie A, certified by the FIGC in December 2010, were ignored by the clubs with a surprising and unacceptable decision.

“As a consequence, the inadmissible period of deregulation around our world continues to drag on. It threatens our rights and could even put our contracts in jeopardy.

“It may seem absurd, but Italy are today the only developed football nation in which there are no precise contractual norms for all players.

“We therefore consider that without a signature on the collective bargaining contract, we cannot begin the new season. This is why we are certain the Lega Serie A will stand by its commitments and sign the contract that was already drawn up by the Players’ Association on May 30, 2011.”

The letter was signed by all 20 Serie A captains, including Javier Zanetti, Francesco Totti and Alessandro The Waterboy.

Tommasi (President of the Players’ Association (AIC) ) talking about the potential strike:

“It’s not right that every time the option of a strike emerges we are met by the usual clichés about rich players. We are not talking about money in this situation, but just about the rights of each player to train with his team. The Presidents first gave a positive response to the proposal, then refused to sign the contract.”

Atalanta have been docked 6 points before the season even starts and Cristiano Doni has been banned for three-and-a-half years from football, thats quite the ruling:

Updates have been made to the Lega Serie A Clubs Forum. All clubs that are participating in the Serie A 2011/2012 season now have their own threads and if relegated will be moved to the Lega Serie B Forum.

I was thinking that when I was creating them but figured that which ever thread doesn't get attention can be taken away. The options are there.

Good work, MI. It may a little extreme like Red said but still I think its a good idea for each club to have its own thread and see how it goes. They are Serie A clubs, and this is SerieAForums, so makes sense. The smaller clubs probably won't get too much attention but sure not bad to have them there anyway.
