We must first get rid of some of the excess in midfield before bringing in someone. With the 3-4-3, we need just two central midfielders and if Sneijder stays he automatically takes one spot. We have Cambiasso, Stankovic, Motta, Muntari and Mariga fighting for the other. Not to mention Zanetti though he can play wing back as well.

What options do we have for young dynamic players? Casmeiro has a buy out clause of 30m if reports are to be believed. From what little I have seen of Banega, he looks a more attack minded midfielder than an all round one. I don't see him and Sneijder playing together.

Official: Suazo returns to Cagliari

Cagliari have officially signed David Suazo after a disappointing spell at Inter and send Andrea Lazzari to Fiorentina “with a heavy heart.”

The Honduran international hitman was a hero for the Stadio Sant’Elia fans and left to test himself at Inter in 2007.

He barely featured for the Nerazzurri and had several loan spells at Benfica and Genoa.

Suazo returns to Cagliari on a permanent basis with a one-year contract and an option to extend for a second term.

The news comes on the day Cagliari also sent midfielder Lazzari to Fiorentina on a co-ownership deal.

“On the one side I am happy to give Andrea this great opportunity, but on the other it’s a shame to lose such a talented and lovely guy,” said President Massimo Cellino.

“I handed him over with a heavy heart, because I am fond of him and he is a fantastic player. I’ll also confirm he turned down several clubs, including Milan in January.”

Inter set out Tevez 'loan' plan

Inter step up their bid for Carlos Tevez by setting a July 31 meeting to ask for the Manchester City star on loan.

Carlitos confirmed again this week he wants to leave Eastlands and is looking for a transfer in South America or in Europe.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, the Nerazzurri have hatched a new plan to get hold of the want-away striker.

Similar to the way Milan bought Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Barcelona a year ago, it would involve a year-long loan with mandatory buy-out clause at the end of the season.

A meeting is set for July 31, which is when Inter and Manchester City will face off for the Dublin Super Cup tournament.

The Nerazzurri had initially wanted to offer Samuel Eto’o or Wesley Sneijder as part of the deal, but appear to have changed their minds.

Both players want to stay at San Siro, so Inter could hand over the full €45m cash sum instead.

There is another option, as Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid are said to be keeping a close eye on the Tevez situation.

Inter recall Julio Cesar?

Inter have reportedly asked Julio Cesar to cut short his summer break so that he can be available for the Italian Super Cup Final.

The Brazilian is currently on holiday after his involvement in this summer’s Copa America campaign.

The Nerazzurri have a goalkeeping headache to resolve following the events of the last week which have seen Emiliano Viviano and Luca Castellazzi pick up injuries.

Viviano, who was expected to be sold to Genoa after the Super Cup tie against Milan on August 6, has been ruled out for six months with a knee problem.

Castellazzi, meanwhile, suffered concussion in the friendly against Galatasaray and the club are remaining cautious about his availability.

Should Castellazzi suffer any complications then Inter would be short of custodian options for the Beijing tie next month, hence the alleged call to Cesar.

There is tangible proof that had all this gone out back in 2006, we would have suffered massive consequences (maybe like Juve or somewhere in that region). However, the laws in Italy state that after a certain amount of months, there cannot be any juridical consequences. In this case, the FIGC opened an investigation knowing very well that it couldn’t conclude due to prescription. They flared out the accusations, knowing very well that there cannot be any juridical case and/or defence. This in a rational country would never happen.
Having said that, we are guilty of something. Problem is that normally there is the accusation, then there is the defence. The issue stopped at accusations stage.
