Bonucci out and Kjaer in?



Wolfsburg stopper Simon Kjaer could replace Leonardo Bonucci in the Juventus defence for 2011-12.

The Old Lady have been active on the transfer market so far and are close to signing striker Giuseppe Rossi from Villarreal and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Arturo Vidal.

Their spending won’t stop there though as they will also be targeting a new centre-back for boss Antonio Conte.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Danish international Kjaer is a possible summer acquisition.

The former Palermo stopper has also been linked with Roma, but they seem unwilling to match Wolfsburg’s €10m asking price.

Juve will apparently accelerate their interest in Kjaer during the next few days.

However, the Old Lady may also lose a defender this summer if Turin daily Tuttosport are to be believed.

They claim that Bonucci, signed for €15m last summer, could join Fiorentina in exchange for Juan Manuel Vargas.

Juve director general Beppe Marotta is willing to sell a 50 per cent stake in the Italian international after the Viola refused to discuss a deal that included Jorge Martinez.

Juventus have agreed a €12m deal with Bayer Leverkusen for Chilean international Arturo Vidal.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Juventus director general Beppe Marotta held talks with Bayer official Rudi Voller in Milan earlier today.

The player’s agent was also present at the negotiations.

Bayer initially wanted €15m for the midfielder, while Juventus were hoping to sign him for closer to €10m.

Vidal has been made available by the German club given that he has less than a year left on his contract in the Bundesliga.

Vidal will replace Felipe Melo in the Old Lady midfield after the Brazilian international confirmed that he is leaving Juve.

Juve and Bayer could do more transfer business this summer as the latter have been linked with Momo Sissoko.

I have been reading that the deal involves Sissoko going the other way along with 12million euros. Will be glad with the signing of Vidal. A rare type of defensive midfielder which can also roam forward and plug the gap behind the strikers effectively.

Doesn't seem to be any suggestion from Gazzetta that Sissoko is included in the Vidal deal.

Sissoko may be sold to Leverkusen in a separate transaction, though.

Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal has confirmed that he will join Juventus from Bayer Leverkusen and is flying to Turin to finalise the deal. Vidal, 24, was targeted by Bayern Munich but has decided to continue his development in Italy after a €12 million fee was agreed.

"I'm happy, it's a big and important step for my career at one of the biggest clubs in Europe," Vidal told reporters at Santiago airport. "I'm very content about this new opportunity that I'm being given. It's a new team which is being built with the aim of being champions and qualifying for international competitions.

"My experience in Germany will be useful to me in Italy, because tactically it's a similar kind of football." Vidal spent four seasons at Leverkusen and has starred for Chile, helping them reach the second round at last year's World Cup.

Juventus, despite the fact they won't be involved in European competition this season, have spent €37 million to make four players - Alessandro Matri, Fabio Quagliarella, Simone Pepe and Marco Motta - permanent signings, while they have also sealed moves for Andrea Pirlo, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Reto Ziegler.

Juventus have officially loaned Felipe Melo to Galatasaray with an option to buy for €13m.

The club announced the news this afternoon with a statement on their website, confirming reports that had already been circulating.

“Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces the agreement with Galatasaray Sportif Sinai Ve Ticari Yatirimlar A.S. for the temporary disposal of the registration rights of the player Felipe Melo De Carvalho has been reached.

“The contract envisages the payment by Galatasaray of € 1.5m in three instalments to be paid during 2011/2012 financial year.

“The agreement also includes the option right, to be exercised by Galatasaray within May 31, 2012, for the definitive acquisition of the football player at a price of €13m.”

Arturo Vidal has passed his medical and officially completed the €10.5m transfer to Juventus.

The Bayer Leverkusen and Chile midfielder agreed a deal earlier this week and flew in to Turin for tests.

This evening Juve released a statement on the club website confirming Vidal has joined the club.

“Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announce the completion of the agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for the permanent signing of Chilean player Arturo Vidal.

“The contract is worth €10.5m to be paid in three instalments: €5m with the release of the international transfer, €3m on June 30 2012 and €2.5m on December 31 2012.

“The value of the signing could be increased by a maximum of another €2m in performance-related bonuses.

“The player has signed a five-year contract with Juventus.”

Those installments over 18 months make it seem a whole lot cheaper.

Yeah I don't get the Melo move, if we were going to get rid of him, we should have just sold him, unless Galatasaray is legitimately considering taking up their option.

There are rumours that we're thinking about bringing Caceres back. I really liked him, and I wished we had signed him a year ago. I don't understand why were going after him now after not taking up our option to buy him last year.

Lugano wanted by Juve?


Uruguay centre-back Diego Lugano is again being associated with a possible switch to Juventus.

The Old Lady are looking for a new centre-back this summer and Lugano could be targeted.

Lugano, who will be 31 in November, is currently playing his club football in Turkey with Fenerbahce.

The former Sao Paulo stopper was heavily linked with a switch to Turin last summer, but the club signed Leonardo Bonucci after his campaign at Bari instead.
