It seems like Sneijder wants to stay, so that should be the end of it but I agree, it must be worrying for Inter fans that he keeps getting linked to United. It would be baffling if Inter sold him.

Shut up...lol. Between 15 and 20 for a pure talent like Sneijder who is still in his best years? Sure maybe I don't rate him as high as most other Interisti, mainly due to his frequent injuries, but surely nothing less than 35 or 40. He's certainly not worth any less than Sanchez for example or a Tevez..

Lomba's right. Sneijder is in his prime and if an offer of roughly 40m came around it would be hard to say no. With that money we can buy more upcoming stars which in turn would go a long way to help decrease the average age of the squad, which is something we will start looking at.

Of course Sneijder's in his prime - so is Tom Huddlestone. I can't see him going for 40 mil either, though.

Who would Inter sign to replace him though? I doubt whoever they'd sign would be as good as Sneijder.

The links are getting stronger, worryingly for Inter fans, but there's still quotes from Marco Branca saying he is "irreplacable, a great champion" etc etc. We'll just have to see what happens but Serie A will lose a great player if he goes.

Sneijder would be difficult to replace. I would only sell him if we get 40m and are able to replace him with Pastore. He is very young and would be a great investment for the future.

If Gasperini is going with the 4-3-3 then Banega may be more useful. Though he is not as good as Pastore or Sneijder, he is more of an all round player and he could fit into Gasperini's system better.

If we're going for a 3 man front men, than I doubt Sneijder would be ideal in a hypothetical 4-3-3 or 3-4-3 since he'd have to play too wide and too distant from the penalty area. Our ideal replacement would be Sanchez...but I doubt that will happen.

Report: Man Utd fly in for Sneijder

There are reports that Manchester United chief executive David Gill is in Italy to negotiate a €39m bid for Inter’s Wesley Sneijder.

On Tuesday Nerazzurri technical director Marco Branca declared Sneijder was “not for sale,” but the rumours of a successful swoop continue.

According to Goal.com, Gill has flown into Milan this week to begin advanced negotiations.

There are even suggestions the Manchester United emissaries have been in Italy since yesterday and are already closing on a deal.

It is widely believed the price-tag is €39m, approximately £37m, will be met by the Old Trafford side.

Sneijder’s departure could even be welcomed by new Coach Gian Piero Gasperini, whose 3-4-3 system would require the Dutchman’s change of position.

Inter have completed the signing of Brazilian defender Jonathan from Santos for an undisclosed fee. The Coppa Italia winners have revealed on their official website that Jonathan has signed a contract until the summer of 2015.

The defender had already been training with the Giuseppe Meazza side since Wednesday and the last details have now been ironed out to officially make the 25-year-old an Inter player.

"Let's make Inter even more successful. I've always heard that Inter are a fantastic club, with everything they have won and considering the league they play in. I'm delighted to have this chance to ply my trade here and show what I'm capable of," commented Jonathan on his move to Inter

Jonathan started his professional career with Cruzeiro and joined Santos in December 2010. He had since become an important first team member and won the Copa Libertadores with the Sao Paulo side.

The arrival of Jonathan could possibly have consequences for the future of Maicon at Inter. The right-back has been linked with a move to Real Madrid and he could opt to move on following the increased competition for a starting berth at the 2010 Champions League winners.
