Inter, Materazzi tornerà contro la Lazio

Buona notizia in casa Inter: Marco Materazzi sta recuperando dagli acciacchi avuti all'inizio del mese e potrebbe tornare in campo già l'11 novembre nel match casalingo contro la Lazio. Il difensore ieri si è allenato regolarmente con i compagni e quella a San Siro potrebbe essere la sfida più adatta per il suo ritorno.

Gilberto Silva considers Arsenal options

Gilberto Silva is questioning his Arsenal future after being overlooked for the captaincy in the summer and losing his place in the side.

Sources close to the Brazil World Cup winner say "he lost everything in three weeks" in a development that could force his departure from the club.

A close friend said: "If Gilberto is still on the bench he might have to consider his future. He will see how things are in January then he will see how things are at the end of the season.

"If the situation is still like this in a few weeks maybe he will go to Arsene and see what the boss's plans are for him. He wants to know if he still considers him part of the long-term future at Arsenal."

The 31 year old has been the biggest casualty of the astonishing progress of Wenger's young team.

"He lost everything in three weeks - the captaincy and his place in the team," the friend told the London Evening Standard.

"He is not the kind of person to cause problems but it is very difficult to understand."

Gilberto would be decent as a squad player IMO, but I don't see him getting the nod against a fit Vieira, Cambiasso or Zanetti. We do get a lot of injuries in the midfield though and he might fancy his chances at eventually winning a place.

Hhmmm...I am sure he will be good replacement dejan but i wonder whether he will be ready to swap one bench for another.....IMO he will get more playing time in arsenal than at inter.......Juve will be abetter option for him.....

Inter ace Ibrahimovic: Juventus urged me to leave

Inter Milan ace Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed he was ENCOURAGED to quit Juventus by Bianconeri directors last summer.

Before last night's 1-1 draw at Juve, super Swede Ibra told Gazzetta dello Sport: "The Juventini may be unhappy, but it isn't my fault I joined Inter.

"The (calciopoli) scandals slowed everything down, I waited for months - in vain - to renew my contract.

"In the end, (sports director Alessio) Secco told me over the phone: 'If there is another team, do not hesitate'."

Ibrahimovic also revealed how coach Roberto Mancini changed the way he thought about his ability.

"One day, Mancini called me into his office. I sat down and he put on a video of Marco van Basten. He told me 'sit and watch, study his movements'. It was a sign, he was showing me what I could achieve. That gesture will always stay with me."

APPIANO GENTILE - Hernan Crespo gave the following interview to (Italian TV station) LA7 programme 'Le partite non finiscono mai' after Monday morning's training session.

Crespo: we saw a great Inter against Juventus in Turin last night.
"It was a wonderful, very intense match. There was a nice atmosphere on the pitch. There was lots of desire to do well, we couldn't have expected anything more from a match like this."

You weren't used in yesterday's game. What did it feel like to watch the match from the bench?
"It was very exciting because a match like this is never dull. Of course I regret not taking part in the game but it was still nice to see a match of this calibre."

It's very hard being a striker at Inter, perhaps the European club with the most competition in attack. How easy is it to get a place in the team?
"Psychologically it's never easy to find yourself in a situation when you're playing now and then, but the club has put many champions at the service of the coach and we have to accept this competition. To earn more minutes on the pitch you have to convince the coach in training sessions and in the games you play."

Any advice to give on how to earn these minutes on the pitch?
"No. It's not a question of advice. You're never happy when you don't play, and if you're in form you might think the coach is wrong not to play you. The most important thing is to do things well, behave like a professional and try to do well when you're called into action because the only thing that counts is the good of the team."

But we can see that you all have many chances and that Mancini is good at handling the situation. Perhaps the only one left out at the moment is Adriano...
"I think each one of us has his own reality. I can only think about myself and if I look at last season, for example, I can say that I have played less so far this term. But we have to accept these situations. It's important to do well in training and not have any regrets, because it's always the coach who chooses. This aspect is always part of football, you have to accept it."

How much does last night's match against Juventus count in terms of the season?
"Besides a few chants, it was a nice evening of sport. It's another brick in the reconstruction of Italian football after everything that happened."

Inter have become the strongest team. How does this situation make you feel?
"We're calm because we have a very big squad and this is our strength. We must think about one game at a time, this is the only way to win the big trophies. We're a bit disappointed because we would have given a great sign of strength by winning in Turin yesterday. The draw might be good for the championship, but it leaves a bitter taste in our mouth."

Adri close to Inter exit?

Rumours are raging over Adriano’s future after the enigmatic Inter hitman didn’t turn up for training today.

The 25-year-old has been frozen out of Coach Roberto Mancini’s plans since reacting angrily to being substituted in Week 8’s win over Reggina.

It now seems that the rift between Mancio and L’Imperatore is irreparable as Adriano skipped training just days after he left the stands before Inter’s win over Genoa,

According to La Stampa, the ex-Parma man phoned the club to say he was feeling unwell, but the medical staff haven’t confirmed this.

While no official statement has been issued, the rumour mill has gone into overdrive across Europe.

Reports in The Independent insist that West Ham are waiting in the wings with £12m to try and lure the Selecao striker to London.

Tuttosport suggest that Adriano will make a sensational move across Milan to the Rossoneri and will be replaced by Lyon’s Karim Benzema.

Meanwhile, Spanish newspaper Sport insists that the Beneamata have already approached Atletico Madrid to offer Adriano and £12m in exchange for Argentine striking prodigy Sergio Aguero.
