Hmm, yeh, never noticed that myself, thats a funny one. ESPN UK's coverage of Serie A has been great all season, though, in fairness, and they've showed lots of Roma games.

Serie A clubs allowed to sign 2nd non-EU player

ROME (AP) - Each club in Serie A will be allowed to sign a second non-EU player for next season according to new rules adopted by the Italian football federation on Tuesday. The move is in part a response to the poor performance by Italian clubs in Europe last season. No Italian club made it past the quarterfinals of the Champions League and the Round of 32 in the Europa League.

Last July in the wake of Italy's first-round exit from the World Cup, the federation reduced the number of non-EU players from two to one as a measure to promote Italian players. But the effect has seemingly been more negative than positive, and with Germany having passed Italy for third place on UEFA's ranking list, Serie A will have only three - down from four - clubs in the 2012-2013 Champions League.

Gutted I missed that Serie A season review show, I remember the one with James Richardson and Gab Marcotti just after Christmas (I think) was a good watch. A lot more interesting and top quality insight and discussion, as opposed to the half an hour shows that used to be on on Friday nights with the seriously annoying voice of the presenter.

Novara have bolstered their squad further with the signings of Andrea Mazzarani and Riccardo Meggiorini.

Novara made their first signing of the summer earlier this week when they snapped up Massimo Paci.

They have now added two further faces to their squad in season-long loan deals.

Midfielder Mazzarani, who spent last season on loan at Modena, has arrived from Udinese

Striker Meggiorini comes in from Genoa - he spent last season with Bologna.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any friendly games in the Veneto/surrounding regions between 20th-27th July. I'm going on holiday with my family during that time to Lake Garda and i'm desperate to catch a game over there. I emailed 7 clubs asking about games and Chievo where the only ones nice enough to reply! (saying they were refurbishing the stadium at that time). Also because i don't speak Italian, most of their websites are only in Italian, but from what i understand most of the teams are on their pre season retreat far away from their home city/town.

If anyone knows of any games could they please let me know? The places possible include: both Bergamo teams, Brescia, Venezia, Vicenza, Treviso, Padova, Cittadella, Piacenza, Mantova, Cremonese, SPAL, Modena, Bologna. Also has anyone ever been at these stadiums, do you know if your allowed inside the stadium (on a non-matchday i mean)?

I see Inler has finally moved to Napoli, i thought last week the Udine Pres said it was 95% chance that he would not sign for Napoli? :S Correct me if i'm wrong.

btw, good addition to Napoli, one of the best CMs in Serie A.

Takayuki Morimoto will play for Novara in the new season after he completed his move from Catania.

The Japanese striker, 23, has joined the newly promoted northern outfit on a co-ownership basis.

I've never been impressed with Morimoto. He works hard but for a supposed out and out striker he doesn't score nearly enough goals. From what I saw of Novara last season I reckon they'll be better served by their existing front me Bertani and Gonzales.
