Hey guys have you heard about the Viviano issue? Seems like Bologna made a mistake when writing the amount in the envelope, and we got Bologna's half practically for free...How stupid can you get loll
The blind auction has officially given Emiliano Viviano to Inter, Gaetano D’Agostino to Udinese and Albin Ekdal to Juventus.
The deadline for resolving co-ownership deals was last night, so for players still unclear on their futures there was a ‘blind auction’: both clubs place a figure into a sealed envelope and the highest bid wins.
The biggest name up for grabs was Italy goalkeeper Viviano, but in an astounding twist, Inter won by default.
Bologna director general Stefano Pedrelli made a huge mistake in filling out the forms, writing on both the wrong side of the paperwork and putting in the wrong figure.
If he had not made this error, the Rossoblu would’ve won the auction, but as it stands Inter now fully own Viviano by paying €4.1m for the remaining 50 per cent of his contract.
There were other players involved in the blind auction this morning, as Udinese bought D’Agostino out from Fiorentina.
Juventus took midfielder Ekdal in their tussle with Bologna, returning him to his original club.
Italy international Daniele Mannini returns to Napoli after his time spent at Sampdoria.
Genoa have ownership of promising talent Fernando Martin Forestieri, who was co-owned by Udinese.
Lecce now own Daniele Cacia after beating Piacenza in the auction, while Chievo saw off Torino to reclaim Antimo Iunco.
However, Lecce have lost breakout star Gianni Munari to Palermo.
Catania were beaten by Ascoli in the auction for striker Simone Pesce.
Riccardo Meggiorini has gone to Genoa after his spell at Bologna.

Domenico Criscito’s agent denied the Napoli move collapsed due to money, but reports now push him from Zenit to Gian Piero Gasperini’s Inter.
Genoa had agreed a fee with Napoli, but the failure to find a deal on personal terms saw the defender back on the market.
“A professional evaluates every aspect of a club before making a move,” agent Claudio Pasqualin told Radio Kiss Kiss.
“That includes the economic aspect, but also the environment you are going into. The career of a player is brief and he has to make the most of his opportunities while he can. Once he has evaluated everything, he will make his decision.”
There were strong reports of a deal in place with Luciano Spalletti’s Russian club, Zenit St Petersburg.
“Yes, we are evaluating the Zenit option, but also others,” added agent Andrea D’Amico.
“There was no bidding war with Napoli, as there was simply a difference of opinion on the project.”
However, new media sources suggest Criscito could remain in Serie A after all with Inter.
He would reunite with his former Genoa Coach, Gasperini, and avoid a big move to another country when his partner is expecting.
According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Zenit are offering a five-year contract worth €3.5m per season.
Inter could meet the €12m asking price, but the wages are a different matter.
Andrea Ranocchia knows new Inter Coach Gian Piero Gasperini very well. “He’s fiery, determined and can pin you to the wall!”
The new tactician was appointed on Friday and is reunited with several of his former Genoa players, including Diego Milito, Thiago Motta and Ranocchia.
“I never understood why Genoa fired him mid-season,” the 23-year-old defender told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I owe so much to the Coach, because I was out injured for a long time and he immediately put his faith in me, despite the fact at the start I struggled to understand his ideas.
“In terms of personality and work ethic, Gasperini reminds me of Antonio Conte, who I worked with at Bari. Both are very focused on details, are fiery and determined.
“He uses recordings of games to prepare for a match and never makes a scene. If he has something to tell you, he does it in private, but if necessary he’ll pin you to the wall!”
The new Inter tactician can use a 3-4-3 system or a 4-3-3, so it remains to be seen how he’ll set out the team.
“Everyone starts on the same level with Gasperini, so although Walter Samuel is back, I think I’ll have a chance of getting some regular playing time.
“We’ll feel a big loss with the departure of Marco Materazzi, though. He was like a big brother to me and now Yuto Nagatomo will be sad, as he’s got nobody to mess about with in the locker room anymore.”
Emiliano Viviano has recovered from the chaos over his ownership. “I have complete trust in Inter, as this is a very important step in my career.”
The goalkeeper was co-owned by Bologna, but a paperwork error in the auction handed his full contract to the Nerazzurri by default.
It was reported this infuriated Viviano, who had been on the verge of joining Roma if Bologna had won the auction.
“There is only one truth here and that is that Inter bought me. It’s a very important step in the career of any player, including mine,” he told ANSA news agency.
“I am happy and relaxed. I didn’t want to talk about this until now and in future I’ll do so only with the Inter directors, as I have complete faith in them.”
It remains unlikely Viviano will stay at Inter, considering he is Italy’s second choice goalkeeper and would be a mere understudy to Julio Cesar at San Siro.
Douglas Maicon “is not in negotiations and will stay with Inter,” announced his agent in a Press release.
The right-back has been repeatedly linked with Real Madrid and a reunion with Treble-winning Coach Jose Mourinho.
“At the moment we are not in negotiations. Maicon has an important contract and will stay with Inter,” declared agent Roberto Calenda.
There was also a section of the statement dedicated to FIFA agent Antonio Caliendo, who has commented on Maicon’s situation to the Italian media.
“I do not have and do not intend to create any professional rapport with Caliendo. The players choose who represent them and that is not market consultants.
“Caliendo’s comments are mere supposition and will be evaluated by my legal team to protect my work and the image of my clients.”
I believe our first signings (after Jonathan) will be Palacio & Poli. Not great players but utility players. Seems like this will be our transfer market. No big names (unless we sell a big name of ours for a huge sum of money), but young, prospective players & others who will come in handy but do not make the difference.
Poli could be a good signing for the future but we need a midfielder who can fit into the first team right away. Banega wouldn't cost so much, would he? He is just 22.
Is Gasperini going to continue with 3-4-3? If that's the case then Palacio would make sense but where would Sneijder fit in then. Sell Pandev to get Rossi not Palacio.
Pandev is younger by a year or two compared to Palacio and he can play wide in a 4-3-3. If its a swap deal, it makes no sense. IMO we are better off with Pandev than Palacio.
Inter have officially ended their contract with Leonardo, so Gian Piero Gasperini “can’t wait to get started.”
Although it has been known for weeks that Leo had quit to become director of sport at Paris Saint-Germain, the Brazilian was still formally the Coach.
This afternoon the club released a statement confirming “after intense months with the Coppa Italia Final success, Inter and Leonardo amicably ended the contract.
“Aside from the bureaucratic aspects of these issues, everyone’s respect remains strong towards someone able to continually put himself up for new challenges.
“President Massimo Moratti and all of the club, thanking him for the time together, wish Leonardo the best of luck for his career.”
It also means Gasperini is officially the Nerazzurri Coach and will be presented to the media next Tuesday.
“I can’t wait to get started,” said the former Genoa boss, who has signed a two-year deal.
Lucio’s agent admits he was in London recently to discuss the Inter defender with various clubs. “There could be opportunities.”
The Brazilian’s contract expires in June 2012 and so far extension talks have been troubled.
It’s believed he wants to sign on until 2014, a year more than the Nerazzurri are offering, while there are also disagreements over the wages.
“I was in London recently to meet with a few clubs, as I think it’s only right for a professional agent to widen his vision to different markets,” Alessandro Lucci told TMW.
“There could be opportunities for Julio Sergio as well as Lucio. There could also be the option of doing nothing.
“I think for the moment Lucio is happy at Inter, but we will evaluate the situation in a little while. It’s premature to talk about that now.”
Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City are the most likely contenders for Lucio’s signature should he decide to leave Inter.
Lucci is also the agent for Roma striker Mirko Vucinic, who was linked with Juventus and Blackburn Rovers.
“Next week Vucinic and I will meet with the Roma directors, so we’ll try to understand if the scenario is definitive.
“It depends on how the lad is feeling. It’s too early to say right now.”
