Oh, sure, my comments on Vooch have very little to do with his wanting to leave - they're based on the way he's carried himself, on and off the pitch, over the past four or five seasons. The apparent desire to leave now is just a continuation - and, in fact, is probably the most defensible individual instance.

I see the Samuel incident differently - I think he did what he did fully expecting to get a yellow. It was cynical, but there were no studs involved and so I think he'd have been stunned to have been sent off. Rather, he was giving Ibra a kick to remind him that he was there and to test whether he was hard enough to keep trying those things. Clatter the ball-player and then see if he continues showing for the ball. It reminds me of the way test rugby used to work - every time a new tight-forward was on debut, the opposition would rough him up, in one way or another, in the first 3 minutes, just to see how he would respond, how he'd stand up, just to see if he could be bullied or knocked off his game a little bit. I might be wrong, but that's how I've always viewed that incident between Ibra and Samuel.

Viviano would be a super signing. He's the best of the 'new' generation of Italian keepers and the heir to Buffon for sure. I'd also hate to see him leave Italy and go to the Premiershit (Arsewipe are linked), so I hope we can get him, although convincing Inter to relinquish their share in him looks like a difficult task. I'm off to Italia tomorrow for a few weeks so won't be around as much, but it'd be nice to have a few official deals in the mercato sorted in that time, and most importantly, see the news that Vucinic is staying.
