Ha, you were setting that one up. Lacist. If its the culture of the club your worried about it make a lot more sense to get rid of Pizarro and Simplicio to make room for Marchisio. And Vucinic is also a perfect fit in a proper three-man forward line, too. I actually don't rate Marchisio that highly, to be honest, he's a good player but I've never thought him to be great.

Well, thats disappointing if true, but I would like to hear more from Vucinic himself and those at the club. What are the reasons why he wants out, Giovanni, do you know? Is it just to do with how the fans got on his back and the boos and bad atmosphere and such (well, certainly the incidents involving his wife being abused, if true, are enough to drive anyone out)? I knew things weren't good but I never thought them to be that bad that he'd want to leave, so is there more at play here?

threddddy, vooch is going to leave for the same reason Philippe did - because he's mentally soft. Love him as we all do, I think we can all see that this is true in each case. Some players when the chips are down push out their chests and react like men; others fold. Vooch and Philippe, in their own quite different ways, are of the second sort.

Edzo, If I were answering a legal Complaint which contained Tommaso's allegations I would state: "denied as stated". By way of further reply, I would state that Vucinic is asking for a transfer for reasons that are petty, childish, and not born of any significant problem that would create a breakdown in the professional relatonship between club and player. For example, he is not claiming that he is underpaid, lacks playing time, or, even, that he has a poor relationship with his teammates creating tension in the locker-room. Therefore, you are free to accept Tommaso's allegation that he is mentally soft and something less than a man which I suppose I can accept for the time being. After the season that he just put in, he should just keep his mouth shut and make a firm purpose of amendment to do better this season.

Personally, Edzo, I think Vuc and his agent are trying to create some sort of pretext for his departure. There a things that as a player one must learn to deal with when things are not going well. Those incidents are unfortunate and they do not speak for your average Roma fan. I understand that even an average Roma fan is somewhat of an fanatic, but 99.9% are not going to break the law by damaging property or making threats to the player or his spouse. Again, it's the Ultras that do this sort of shit and not even most of them would endeavor to do such things.

I didn't see or hear anything of those reports before this, anyway, Thomo. The one of his missus being abused sounds bad all the same and not good to see under any circumstances. I know what you are saying, Giovanni, a player has to be prepared to take a certain level of criticisim and even abuse on the chin, but it just seems like, as always in Rome, things are taken to the extreme and pushed to far and things can boil over. You have to take the good with the bad, and it is what it is, but it saddens me to see a player want to leave on the back of such shite. Whether Vucinic and his agent are just playing it up a little or if there is more behind it I don't know, no one can really know, and like I said before we'll have to wait and see what else comes of this.

He's soft, Fonz. A tough player comes back within a game after starting poorly. Vooch is a "confidence player" - which is another way of saying he's mentally soft. If he has a few bad touches his head goes down, when things go against him he starts pouting. Of course most footballers are soft, but Vooch is softer than most at this level. Pizarro, on the other hand, is as mentally tough as they come. Vooch is a little like Aquilani, though not quite as bad.
