Le milieu de terrain du Standard, Axel Witsel, aurait choisi l’Italie pour sa prochaine destination et plus particulièrement l’AC Milan. Le Diable Rouge aurait déjà trouvé un accord avec le club lombard pour parapher un contre portant sur les 4 prochaines saisons.

La saga du transfert d’Axel Witsel va certainement prendre fin dans les prochains jours. En effet, le joueur aurait trouvé un accord avec l’AC Milan pour y signer un contrat de 4 ans. Il reste maintenant à la formation italienne et au Standard de Liège a trouvé un accord financier mais les bons rapports entre les deux clubs devraient permettre de trouver une solution rapidement.

As I said before, getting Arsenal and Fabregas to agree to a Milan is offer is not the most difficult part here, it is the fact that we need to ensure, somehow, are out of the way. Hate to sound like Galliani, but we cannot compete financially with Barca in that sort of deal and the player, if given the choice, would understandably prefer to return to his original club (though you can also make the case if he's smart he would realize he would not start for that team or get anything close to the minutes he's getting now)

As much as I like it to happen, I don't see this deal as a realistic one for Milan at this point of time

I think he could reasonably back himself to get into the midfield three and push Iniesta to play further up the pitch.

but with the upcoming financial fairplay rules coming in Milan hold all the cards as we are economically more secure than Barca who have millions upon millions of debt which they need to try and move, surel players will be wanting to play for clubs who are in the CL regardless of name to some extent, if it was playing for Barca with no CL and MIlan with CL its an easy choice imo, also as you said he will get more minutes at Milan than he would likewise at Barca.

so what was he talking about? or is this more cryptic clues?

I think that what Lomba's suggesting is that established debt isn't pertinent here, gregoire - the fairplay rules are about operating costs starting, as it were, from ground zero at the beginning of next season. ManShitty wouldn't be able to do what they have done, but they also won't be held accountable for what they have already done (other than in terms of investment in celery [sic]).

The 'fair play' rules are actually ultimately about closing the shop - stopping new-boys-on-the-block buying their way into high table, entrenching the long-standing aristocracy of European football. That's the only reason they've been allowed to go through, despite how Platini might like to present the change. The fact that Manure and Real have such following in Asia, for example, means that these moves will only consolidate their power.

Yeah, the Financial Fair Play rules are , to oversimplify it, directly related to revenue. You can only spend in proportion to how much you earn. Italian clubs do not make anywhere near the money the Spanish and English big teams do so that disadvantage will always be there until the revenue disparity is closed.

But debts also play a role, a club's debt has to be at a certain level and I think there's a grace period of a few years for clubs to balance the books. I was reading an article on the new rules in place and they're not as rigid as people make them out to be, there are many exceptions and even loopholes to exploit but they mainly try curb the crazy spending by clubs like Shitty, Madrid and Chelskea because now those clubs would be bound to show that the money they spent on transfers are club revenue and not hefty cheques signed by their filthy rich owners. So, ultimately, clubs with higher revenue in EPL, Liga and even Bundesliga would have an advantage over Serie A teams in general. It is critical the system is changed in Italy (stadiums would be a start) to allow Italian clubs to maximize revneues and compete, otherwise, even the 3rd CL spot would be gone too.
