According to reports, Sanchez is a higher priority for Barca now than Rossi. They have offered 27m + Jeffren. There is no competing with Barca and Madrid nowadays and that bridge will only increase with the FFP.

Inter 'offer £50m for Fabregas'

English newspapers claim Inter are ready to offer £50m for Arsenal hero Cesc Fabregas, beating competition from Barcelona.

President Massimo Moratti has long been an admirer of the Spanish midfielder and could finally be prepared to make an audacious bid.

According to The People, Barcelona are going to make a formal offer of £30m over the next few days, following up two years of very public courting by the club he played for as a boy.

Inter aim to fly past them in the race with a starting bid of £50m, hoping to get the transfer under wraps before Barca have time to respond.

The Nerazzurri could raise those funds by selling Wesley Sneijder to the Premiershit, as he too is the subject of a £30m bidding war between Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea.

Inter miss out on El Shaarawy

Inter have reportedly had a €10m offer for Italian teenage sensation Stephan El Shaarawy rejected by Genoa.

The attacking midfielder, who won’t be 19 until October, has helped inspire Padova into the Serie B play-offs this term while on loan from Marassi.

El Shaarawy, born to an Italian mother and Egyptian father, is one of the country’s most interesting prospects.

He’s been linked with a flurry of clubs in recent times after his progress and, according to the transfer rumour mill, Inter chief Massimo Moratti has already had a bid rejected.

It’s understood that Genoa owner Enrico Preziosi wants to keep hold of the youngster for at least one more campaign.

Inter, though, are not alone in the hunt for the player as demonstrated by reports linking Milan with a bid.

“The player’s future is in the hands of Preziosi,” agent Roberto La Florio told Notizario Sportivo. “However, the good relationship that Genoa have with both clubs is well known.

“As for Stephan, he still has a lot to prove and I think he’ll spend next term at Genoa to confirm himself in Serie A too. Then we’ll see.”

El Shaarawy, recently called up by Italian Under-21 boss Ciro Ferrara, made his Serie A debut at the age of 16 in December 2008’s game between Chievo and Genoa.

Man Utd to use Nani in swap deal for Sneijder
Manchester Untied winger Nani is linked with a potential swap deal for Inter Milan’s Wesley Sneijder. United have been heavily linked with Sneijder, 26 but a deal has yet to materialise with Inter demanding up to £30million for the Dutch international.

The former Real Madrid maestro only signed a 5-year contract earlier on in the year, but with Inter Milan’s liking for Nani and a potential move for Aston Villa’s Ashley Young muted, Nani could be set for the San Siro with Sneijder going in the opposite direction.

The Independent suggests Nani could have played his last game for the club despite an excellent season with the Champions. Nani was voted players’ player of the year and managed to net 13 times and assist with 17 goals for the Red Devils.

Essien and Malouda offered in exchange for Sneijder
Inter Milan have been offered Chelsea pair Florent Malouda and Michael Essien in exchange for Wesley Sneijder. The Dutch ace has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford but Chelsea have offered the duo in attempt to trump Manchester United.

The 26-year old had been linked with a £30million move to the English Champions after he spoke highly of them early on in the season.

The former Madrid man was speaking on Dutch radio back in April "Do I want to go to United? It's a beautiful club. But I'm fine in Milan and not at the point to think about it."

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti is a fan of both Essien and Malouda but will leave the final decision to coach Leonardo reports Corriere dello Sport.

In un'intervista raccolta in anteprima da FcInterNews.it alla terza serie del The Sport Editions uscita in edicola soltanto oggi, Sneijder ha chiarito la sua volontà di rimanere all'Inter, dov'è assolutamente felice: "All'Inter c'è un clima familiare, e ci sono tutti i pressuposti per puntare in alto - raccoglie il nostro sito - La città di Milano è meravigliosa, pittoresca, regna l'eleganza, la amo. Al momento sono felicissimo qui, non vedo perché dovrei andarmene!".

Immancabile una battuta sul Milan del suo amico Mark Van Bommel: "Avevano una grande disponibilità economica quest'anno...", ma soprattutto sul Real Madrid, un vero incubo per l'olandese: "L'avventura a Madrid è stata un vero disastro. Non so chi abbia preso le decisioni importanti negli anni in cui ero lì, e poi lo chiamano club galattico...". Lucio contract talks continue

There is confidence that Inter and Lucio will soon agree terms over a new contract at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

“The renewal talks are being looked after by his agent Becker, whom I collaborate with, but there is no reason for any concern,” representative Alessandro Lucci told Mediaset.

“Talks have already begun and there is a good base on which to build on. There is no problem as Lucio is happy at Inter and wants to remain.”

The Brazilian is only tied to the Nerazzurri until 2012 and both parties want to continue their relationship.

However, according to reports, there is a difference of opinion regarding both the length of the contract and the salary.

Lucio is asking for a deal until 2014, but the San Siro giants are proposing an agreement until 2013 instead.

The stopper, who turned 33 last month, joined the Nerazzurri in the summer of 2009 from Bayern Munich.

“I hope to stay here,” Lucio told Inter Channel in May. “I’m waiting for my agreement to be renewed because it is my desire to remain.

“I have been at this club for two years now and they have been wonderful, but it will be up to Inter to decide.”

I see Nagatomo has signed recently and also talk of Kharja making his deal permenant. I must say i thought Nagatomo was an asset going forward but defensively less-so. I've also not been convinced by Kharja since he joined Inter, and expected more from him tbh. :/ We can get much better midfielders than him IMO.

Kharja is a utility player at best. He is youngish and can play in several positions in midfield. Considering we would be selling Mariga, Muntari and may be even Motta he would be a useful player to have. He is definitely not going to be a starter.

Its Nagatomo's first year in Italy and he needs to learn a lot. He has good potential and he can play in both full back positions. He is no Maicon but who else is for that matter.

Wesley Sneijder has given fans a scare amid links to Chelsea and Manchester United. “I love Inter with all my heart, but I don’t know if I’ll stay.” The Dutch playmaker has been hitting headlines over the past few weeks with the two Premiershit sides battling for his signature.

Up until now, Sneijder had rejected all talk of leaving San Siro, but from his vacation in Los Angeles an interview with the Gazzetta dello Sport could cause shockwaves.

“The Inter fans have always treated me very well. They were wonderful and I want to simply thank them,” he said when asked if he could tell the supporters he’d stay. “Then, only God will decide where my future lies. I can be certain of one thing: if I remain at Inter, then I will give my all to win everything again.”

Between Rafa Benitez and Leonardo, the club won the Club World Cup, Italian Super Cup and Coppa Italia this season, though it paled in comparison with the Treble.

“When you have had the greatest and most surprising year of your life, it’s only natural that the next will be less rewarding. Not everything can be perfect.

“Having said that, I had fun in my second year with Inter and was satisfied, even if we didn’t win everything. At least this way we still have a few more objectives to reach. I love Inter with all my heart.”

Juve, Inter, Spurs battle for Bastos

Juventus, Inter and Tottenham should know where Michel Bastos is going “some time next week,” said his agent.

The Brazil international has been at Olympique Lyonnais for many years, but has made it clear he would like to move on from Ligue 1.

Among the clubs vying for the full-back’s signature are Spurs, Inter and above all Juventus, as the Turin giants have been heavily linked with him for well over a year.

The Nerazzurri are pushing up into the race thanks to Leonardo’s presence and the fact they are offering Goran Pandev as part of the deal.

“There is nothing new for the moment, but we will have a much better idea some time next week,” his agent told L’Equipe.

Bastos is available for around €15m and from this week ought to be awarded an EC passport.

Santon prepares for Inter exit

Inter youngster Davide Santon has suggested that he will spend next season on loan at a smaller club.

The Italian international is coming towards the end of a six month temporary spell at Cesena after failing to break into the Nerazzurri side.

Although he doesn’t know what his future yet holds, he has indicated that he won’t be playing for the San Siro outfit in 2011-12.

“I really don’t know what will happen yet,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport on Monday. “I’ll start pre-season with Inter and then we’ll make a decision together.

“I’m like any other footballer in that I don’t like to be stuck on the bench,” the Under-21 international captain continued.

“I need to play games and I’d prefer to have a season where I am a regular starter in the first XI.

“My objective is to have a good campaign and then hopefully return to Inter as a protagonist.

“It’s now up to me to demonstrate that I am worthy of Inter. That is the aim and I believe that I can do that.”

The full-back, born in January 1991, was given his first chance by previous Inter boss Jose Mourinho in 2008-09.

Nevertheless, his second season proved to be more problematic and a knee meniscus injury picked up early in the campaign affected his performances.

Santon has 11 Under-21 caps and eight full Italy caps.
