Personally, I'm a little bit more sympathetic to Rosella than most of the guys are here, but I can still see she's given plenty of cause for Romanisti to dislike her. There has been plenty of bitter experience to make people bitter towards her. Proposing this as some kind of "default" position was, no doubt, in large part banter, but it was pretty lame banter so far as I could see.

Well, I tend to think it's usually worth engaging thoughtfully even with people with whom one's not on friendly terms, but each to his own. I imagine there are a few Romanisti with very short shit lists who, nonetheless, have room for both Viola and Rosella there.

Perhaps being president of AS Roma is a little like the US presidency - wanting the job should disqualify you from getting it. DiBenedetto isn't quite on my shit list yet but I have a feeling he will be before too long. I get the feeling we might look back with longing on our scudetto, second-place finishes and CL football under the Sensis.

Well, I think one might want to distinguish the first half of the Sensi reign from the second; one can dislike Rosella without that affecting one's affection for Franco. (that polyptoton was for Lupa - she loves that kind of thing.) And I doubt there are too many here, however hopeful they are and however sympathetic to the idea of foreign ownership, who don't harbour a little trepidation about what the immediate future holds. I hold both more and less than most, I should think.

Spotted this on the Celtic site - - their under-19 team is to face Barca, Man City and Marseille's under-19s in the group stage of a CL-style competition, and they've signed up to it for three years.
Just wondering if anyone has heard if Roma are going to enter a team? It seems like a win-win situation, the only barrier might be the cost.
I can't find any ohter info on this tournament at present, but I'd like to know more.

Haven't heard anything about that, Simon, it sounds exciting and like something we should be doing, but it would also require a bit of management to get us in to such a competition, something we haven't quite got yet.

Con l’arrivo di Luis Enrique arriverà al “Fulvio Bernardini” anche l’organizzazione del club catalano che coinvolge le squadre giovanili. Non sarà difficile applicarlo visto che già il sistema di lavoro adottato in questi anni da Bruno Conti ha sempre dato i suoi frutti e gli schemi delle squadre minori hanno sempre vissuto di riflesso su quello della prima squadra. Ora però la nuova dirigenza vuole cambiare diversi aspetti all’interno dell’organizzazione ed il settore giovanile verrà rivoluzionato soprattutto per quanto riguarda gli incarichi. A breve Alberto De Rossi sarà nominato “Capo di tutti gli allenatori” delle squadre.

Il papà di Daniele deciderà se mantenere allo stesso tempo anche l’incarico di tecnico della squadra Primavera. In caso contrario la panchina della seconda squadra potrebbe finire ad Andrea Stramaccioni, ipotesi un po’ complicata visto i rapporti poco cordiali tra i due. Stramaccioni potrebbe essere il primo a fare le valigie: Fiorentina e Milan sono le possibili destinazioni. Ma non sarà il solo a partire.

Bruno Conti, al quale la nuova proprietà ha in mente di affidargli un ruolo di “ambasciatore della Roma” in Italia e nel mondo, potrebbe non accettare e quindi guardarsi intorno dove ci sono molte società disposte a metterlo a capo dei propri settori giovanili. Un ruolo importante lo avrà anche Angelo Peruzzi che da dirigente avrà qualche responsabilità anche sul settore giovanile.

COMUNICAZIONE – Cambierà anche l’Ufficio Stampa della Roma. In un primo momento a Baldini era stata consigliata Silvia Berti, ex ufficio stampa della Fiorentina, ma negli ultimi giorni ha preso corpo il nome di un giornalista romano (e romanista ndr) ritenuto più adatto al ruolo.

He was named as an ambassador of the city by UEFA ahead of the CL final in the Olimpico in 2009, but I wasn't aware that he had any ongoing role.

I see Don Semen is making friends quickly. Clearly, things are not going well over at the Roma Addict or else we would not be seeing so much of him around here. If anyone ever visited the Roma Addict, you would know that most are apologists for Rosella. As far as my position on Rosella, I believe it to be quite reflective of the sentiment among Roma fans over the course of the last several years with plenty of empirical evidence to justify that position. However, I neither have the strength nor the desire to go over the tortured reign of Rosella and her cohorts like Pippo Marra, Montali and Prade`. When she sacked Carlo Zampa and replaced him with a personal friend is when I, and many Roma fans knew we were in for a troubled time with this woman.

I didn't realise Zampa's sacking was her doing. Roma Addict is going fine if you play Football Manager and are happy to speculate endlessly about transfers that will never eventuate. I'm enjoying the atmosphere here, it's in general older, a little more life-experienced and more irascible than RA. It helps me get in touch with my anger. It's also educational to see what fans of other teams are saying sometimes.
