Galliani: 'Milan want Taiwo'
Adriano Galliani has confirmed Milan “want to sign Taye Taiwo, even without an EU passport.”

The Marseille full-back will be out of contract at the end of the season and has long been associated with a free transfer to San Siro.

“We do want to sign Taiwo, even without an EU passport,” Vice-President Galliani told Sky Sport Italia.

The Nigerian defender has had a splendid campaign for Marseille in Ligue 1 and scored the winner in the French Cup Final.

Galliani also commented on the links to Santos starlet Paulo Henrique Ganso.

“We still have to make a formal offer. Clubs are quite rich in Brazil now and they tend to resist releasing their players.”

Braida has ruled us out of getting Ganso this year, smokescreen or not I don't know...but I do know he picked up a muscular injury today, and given he already have had a couple of knee operation he might be even worse than Pato in that aspect...I think Milan are a bit careful about investing 25+ million on him right now and probably rightly so

Kaka' to return if no to Ganso?

"Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri has cooled speculation that the club will attempt to re-sign Kaka this summer.

The two parties have been linked together on Monday following the words of Vice-President Adriano Galliani.

“Kaka is a great and I’d do anything for him,” Galliani noted. “I cried when he left because I loved him intensely.

“I have suffered for just two players in my life – the first was when Leonardo left and then for Kaka.”

The Brazilian ended his six-year San Siro stint in 2009 after accepting a switch to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

However, he has since suffered with form and fitness which has seen him associated with a possible Milan return.

Milan official Ariedo Braida also fuelled talk of an imminent reunion. “There is a true friendship between us and he is always in our hearts,” he stated.

Nevertheless, speaking after Milan wrapped up the title at the weekend, Allegri quietened the reports.

“The return of Kaka is just a rumour,” he stated on Monday. “For now we are just thinking about the present campaign.

“At the end of the season we will sit around a table and see what we can do to strengthen the team. It’s too soon for that now.”

Milan have signed Philippe Mexes and Taye Taiwo for next season, boss Massimiliano Allegri has revealed ahead of their Coppa Italia semi-final.

Speaking before Tuesday’s Italian Cup encounter against Palermo, Allegri made the revelation when asked about the club’s summer plans.

“We’ll be fine in defence as we’ve signed Mexes and Taiwo,” he noted on Monday afternoon.

Both defenders will arrive on Bosman free deals and will join from Roma and Marseille respectively.

Mexes may not be fit enough to start the campaign though as he is currently recovering from knee ligament surgery.

Turning to Tuesday’s game in Sicily, after the first leg ended 2-2, Allegri insisted his side are hungry and ready to win following Saturday’s clinching of the Scudetto.

“Does a possible Final with Inter fascinate me? I’m just fascinated by the Final,” continued the former Cagliari Coach.

“The side is mentally prepared for the game against Palermo and I’m sure we’ll play a great match.

“There was euphoria at training today after winning the title, but the squad then trained as normal.

“Mentally they are ready. We know that we are Milan and we can’t go to Palermo and play poorly.

“When you are at Milan you can’t stop when you win something because after the Scudetto there is the Coppa Italia, after the Coppa there is the Super Cup…

“You have to always look ahead, that’s a rule of life for me.”

The tactician does have his selection problems though for the Cup clash, with star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic just one man who is struggling with fitness.

“We have to evaluate the condition of Ibrahimovic who we hope to recover and Kevin Prince Boateng too, as well as Gianluca Zambrotta and Alessandro Nesta.”

Our defence should be set, we'll have to see if we need another backup fullback or not (I'd like to keep Zambro as a backup fullback, he'll be valuble in that role IMO)

I pray we stay the fuck away from Kaka, I don't have anything him, but signing him is a step backwards on so many levels.

i have a feeling gattuso is gonna bounce too. he'll leave on a high, and play his last seasons of football earning 10m a year. i won't hate him if he does that.

i'm still reserved about mexes. he is prone to plenty of brain-farts throughout the season, and we're giving him a contract worth 4.5m euros over 4 years; for a crocked 29 year old that's a lot of money.

I agree about Mexes, he's got a bad habit of getting sent off more often that a defender should and it's a worry... I hope he can learn from the best and specially Nesta whom he's supposed to eventually take over from ....4.5 million is definitely overpay, its the reality of the sports in general where free agents earn more that they should more often than not...we probably would've had him on a 3-3.5 million contract if we was not out of contract and we get him through a transfer

I hope Rino goes, he's a Milan legend as is Pirlo but their time is up...I prefer keeping Ambro and Seedorf...we might also see Flamini go unless he takes a pay-cut the way I see it, I hope we do keep him though, he's not exactly a world-class midfielder but is definitely useful to have

I think we're either moving away from Ganso or maybe holding off till January, I'm really really worried about his injury situation and would not risk more than 20 million on him at most...Milan should look for alternatives there and no, I don't mean Kaka by that

Mind you, Mexes is likely to get sent off rather less if he's playing for a club like Bilan whom the refs work quite hard to favour rather than to screw over.

Santos are playing hardball, they don't want to sell Ganso so we should pack up and move on, Lucas Marcelinho from Sao Paolo would be my next choice.

Personally, I hardly see any of these South American players, Ganso I've seen a few times but nobody else...are we still linked with Eric Lamela (I think that's his name)...we usually go for Brasilians over Argentines but he might be an alternative

or Silvio's big name might an established AM so we might not go for any of these youngsters altogether

Leonardo hits back at Gattuso
Inter boss Leonardo has asked Gennaro Gattuso for an explanation after the Milan man sang a derogatory chant about him during the Scudetto celebrations.

Following the 0-0 draw with Roma which clinched the Scudetto, Gattuso joined in with a section of the Milan fans as they chanted against the former Rossoneri boss.

The incident hasn’t been lost on Leonardo, a man who joined Inter in December, and he’s gone as far as making a statement on the Inter website.

"The day I decided to leave Milan, Gattuso said to me that I had at least been coherent in my choice,” the note from the Nerazzurri boss states.

“But today I read in lots of papers that he still wants to give his own version of events.

“I would very much like to know what he has to say, since neither on the phone nor in person has that ever been possible.

"Furthermore, I would like to know what Milan's official position is on this matter.”

Leonardo and Gattuso had a difficult relationship while the Brazilian was in charge of the Diavolo last season.

“Leonardo is upset about this,” Inter President Massimo Moratti stated when questioned on the subject.

“The incident speaks for itself. It’s something that is not representative of Milan, but of the man even if I think something needs to be done.

“There’s no polemic, these things happen in moments of excessive celebrations. It’s normal, because it has been a long time since they’ve had such a party.”

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani is eager to play down the situation. “Let’s not make a drama out of this,” he said. “I haven’t seen the footage but I think it is just a venial sin.”

From what I read somewhere the tifosi were calling Leornardo "man of shit" the translation could be off but something along these lines, Rino was chanting that with them

I don't condone Rino's behavior in alot of occasions in general but that being said, I wish severe misery on Leo for the rest of his life. I hate this person with every fibre of my being
