Shield, he had a great first half but he should have buried that. Still, he's kept going, his movement's been superb and his contributions to both goals excellent. Cassetti, on the other hand, has been awful - for an 'accurate' player he's been ridiculously inaccurate. I thought I'd better get in before dibdib. And Panucci's been hot and cold too - the stage is set for Cicinho, I think, dibdib.

Foolishly I thought it might be simpler sailing after we got the third. We had them on the rack and really should have buried them. Still, I guess that's what comes from having to play such a big game over the weekend, perhaps? And given Spags' reluctance (and inability with so many injuries) to rotate the squad a bit more fully. A very good three points, though no doubt the Avvocato and Smiley and one or two others will be a bit disappointed we didn't really sink the knife into them. I suspect Vooch's injury or lack of legs caught up with him as he slipped out of the game but was superb for the first 60. No doubt we'd have seen more minutes from a third/fourth central midfielder had Aquilani been fit and that would have made a difference. I thought Spags might have brought Brighi on a bit earlier as little David also looks as though he struggles to last the full 90 at the moment.

Two assists and a goal for the Legend, Shield, and some terrific movement in behind and into the channels and some excellent link-up play. His best game in giallorosso by some margin. Long may it continue! The 10 match death-streak is negotiated, first time round, with 21 points in the bag, 3 points behind Inter, and despite a cluster of key injuries. This weekend will be another big test, because the boys will have to lift themselves for a 'lesser' opponent and dropping points there would be an absolute waste.

Hard fought derby win but we made it. We now can kind of consider ourselves past that hard schedule where we faced all the big teams in 10 matches.

I loved Perrotta's goal, what a genius assist by Vucinic. Great game actually and we could have scored more. The important thing is that we won against lazie, got our 3 points and we are passed all the matches with the big teams and we are only 3 points behind inter after having hard matches.

Deini welcome to the forum. If you have a sec look back over the last few pages and see ArthurFonzarelli's questions to you and tell us your answers. I presume you found here through the Offside? I agree that Mexes was far from impressive in Lazio's first goal yesterday. He seemed to hesisate at the wrong moment and allowed Rocchi far to much time, and then didn't close him down when he was going to shoot (I think he was anticapating Rocchi trying to take it around him). Mexes is still found of the odd error of judgement which he will need to improve on. He was immense in the air though in the second-half and alongside Juan, who had a stormer, they looked very strong and commanding and held out brilliantly.

I have to say I was very much impressed with Mancini, and was very surprised and dissapointed, even, when he was taken off. I say this a lot about Vuci, but Mancini really is a confidence player, so much so that he needs something to happen for him to really get firing. He was revelling in the limelight as being our main creative attacking force yesterday, and one has to wonder why he always seems to play better when Totti is not playing. A great game, and his stepovers (and set-up for the LitM) were great to see. I was laughing my arse off.

And Vucinic... By far his finest most complete game in a Roma shirt. A great goal and a great assist, and more than that he got involved in the play and link up much better. He should of buried that chance in the first-half but he is not Totti, and not fully in his rythm at that time, and even legends miss the odd one. Crucially though he didn't let it get to him and soon after scored a great goal after some brilliant link-up play with himself and Mancini. He did tire late on but its only to be expected. 3 goals in his last 3 games, he is scoring and contributing well to all-round play, not much more you can ask (he didn't get the hatrick but soon...). If I were to be critical of him the only thing I would say is that at times he looks a bit slow off the mark in posession. He likes to hold the ball for a second and consider his options. This is his style and that off a natural centre-forward, but in this system its all about quick play and quick movement which he is still learning. His movement though and running off the ball (like when he was put through for that miss) is excellent though. Now I here there's talk of Spalletti having to consider a way for himself and Totti to co-exist in the first-11, which is positive, but I fear Spalletti means putting the LitM back out on the left, which is regressive in developing his game and getting the best out of him. He can play out on the left, especially now he has the confidence back, but if we want goals he needs to be up top with Totti just behind him, and Spalletti has to find a way for that to work.

It was a nervy ending but Lazio are so shite they couldn't even muster up a decent chance late on. If we had of drawn this game it would of been a complete disaster considering some of the chances we had earlier. Giuly didn't do much when he came on except play as the smallest prima-punta in the history of calcio, yet Brighi imposed himself well and will be important for us when we need to close games up late on (and as Barusso doesn't seem to be ready). A great win, 3 points behind Argentina, and a couple of small (must win) games coming up, as well as Esposito, Taddei and Aquilani coming back to somewhere near match ready, alls not looking to bad at the moment.
