"Se mi cercasse l'Inter? Gli direi di no: ho una storia ben definita ed è molto difficile andarci contro".

In un'intervista di "Studio Sport XXL - la top ten della settimana", Carlo Ancelotti, attuale manager del Chelsea ed ex allenatore del Milan, esclude di poter un giorno sedere sulla panchina nerazzurra a differenza di quanto fatto da Leonardo, per il quale ha però parole di stima.

Per Ancelotti si parla della Roma ma il tecnico di Reggiolo ribadisce: "ora l'obiettivo è rimanere al Chelsea e l'anno prossimo allenerò qui, però in futuro sì: il 7 luglio, ma non si sa di quale anno, potrei allenare la Roma", aggiunge ridendo.

Per quanto riguarda la Champions, "siamo convinti di potercela giocare a Manchester - aggiunge - Torres? I movimenti sono buoni: bisogna aspettare che faccia gol".

L'ottimismo è il sale della vita. E di ottimismo Carlo Ancelotti ne ha. Roman Abramovich (Foto AP/LaPresse) non è mai stato tenero nei confronti degli allenatori che hanno chiuso la stagione senza vincere nulla, vedi i casi di Ranieri e Grant. E al tecnico di Reggiolo resta una sola chance per evitare di chiudere l'annata a 'zeru tituli': conquistare la Champions. Traguardo che sa di impresa dopo la sconfitta interna di mercoledì col Manchester United ma Ancelotti continua a guardare avanti con fiducia: "Non penso che il club prenderà una decisione sul mio futuro in base al fatto che vinca o meno la Champions League - assicura - La società mi conosce molto bene, conosce il mio comportamento e baserà le sue decisioni su questo. Fino ad allora, mi appoggerà al 100%, non c'è alcun problema".

Certo, se Fernando Torres (Foto AP/LaPresse) si svegliasse sarebbe più semplice pensare a un'impresa all'Old Trafford: "Non è un buon momento per lui ma ha l'appoggio di tutti", lo difende Ancelotti, a cui il digiuno dello spagnolo (mai a segno da quando è al Chelsea) ricorda un altro caso: "Crespo trascorse i suoi primi sei mesi al Milan senza fare un gol. Poi ha fatto una doppietta nella finale di Champions League". Un precedente che incoraggia i Blues ma fino a un certo punto: la finale a cui ha fatto riferimento il tecnico di Reggiolo è quella di Istanbul poi persa incredibilmente col Liverfekkin'wankscum.

It looks like Rosi might be starting down the right tonight, which would be excellent. I'd like to see him with Menez through the middle and Vooch down the left, but that will have to wait.

(Il Romanista - E.Masetti) - Rosi, Brighi e Vucinic dietro a un’unica punta, Francesco Totti, visto che Marco Borriello a Fiumicino ha detto: «Non gioco». In quella che è diventata la partita più importante della stagione, Vincenzo Montella sembra intenzionato a ridisegnare la sua Roma.

In conferenza il tecnico ha dato poche indicazioni, come di consueto, anche se ha spiegato che Totti rende al meglio come prima punta e che i giocatori spesso e volentieri sono decisivi quando entrano a partita in corso. Qualche informazione in più sembra essere arrivata dalla rifinitura, dove sono stati provati Rosi, Brighi e Vucinic. E proprio i primi due sembrano essere la sorpresa che l’allenatore ha in serbo per stasera al Friuli.

ROSI Doveva essere la stagione del rilancio, dopo un buon anno trascorso - da titolare - a Siena. E invece le cose sono andate diversamente: è partito titolare pochissime volte, si è messo in evidenza più per nervosismi (Brescia) e intemperanze (lo sputo a Lavezzi) che per gesti tecnici. Non solo: nelle rare volte in cui è stato impiegato, si è dimostrato insicuro, vedi Donetsk. A Firenze, prima della sosta per la Nazionale, è invece entrato col piglio giusto, come ammesso anche da Montella, che quindi, nella partita più importante, potrebbe dargli fiducia. Sulla destra, davanti a Cassetti, in modo da arginare le discese dell’Udinese: «E’ uno di corsa - le parole di Montella - ci può essere utile». I due hanno parlato molto in questi giorni, Rosi sa che Montella lo stima, ma sa anche che pretende da lui serietà e disciplina tattica. Se davvero oggi dovesse partire titolare, è chiamato a dare risposte da giocatore maturo.

BRIGHI Risposte che ormai da anni dà Matteo Brighi, ogni qual volta viene chiamato in causa. Passano le stagioni, cambiano gli allenatori, ma nessuno a Trigoria si vuole mai privare di un giocatore e un professionista esemplare. Stasera potrebbe chiamato a sostituire Perrotta nel ruolo di incursore, complice anche la migliore tenuta atletica rispetto a Simone, che in queste settimane ha giocato praticamente sempre.

BORRIELLO Un altro che dovrebbe restare fuori è Marco Borriello. L’attaccante, come ha spiegato ieri Montella, si sta allenando bene e, ovviamente, vorrebbe giocare di più. Ma capisce che la Roma in questo momento difficilmente può supportare la sua presenza accanto a quella di Totti, per questo dovrebbe partire dalla panchina, pronto ad entrare a partita in corso e a partire, invece, titolare sabato prossimo contro il Palermo.

GLI ALTRI Per il resto, la formazione dovrebbe essere quella annunciata. In porta Doni, in difesa, complice l’infortunio di Mexes, scelte obbligate: Cassetti a destra, Juan e Burdisso al centro (la speranza è che non prenda a nessuno dei due un raffreddore da qui a fine stagione), Riise a sinistra. Con compiti soprattutto di copertura. Non è difficile intuire perché.

What's Borriello's problem, he's bitchin cos he's not starting more often? If ya ask me he'd want to start working harder in training rather than worrying about fixing his hair and banging Brazilian supermodels. Ah no, in fairness to him, it must be frustrating for him to be out the cold since the arrival of Montella and Totti's return to form, but he just needs to be patient.

Rosi startin down the right is interestin, alright. He must be doing well in training. There's still a chance Montella will go with Taddei I'd say, but perhaps he's thinking starting Rosi would be the best option against a fast Udinese side and he can use his pace to get forward and support Totti. Could be a good call from Monty, lets hope Rosi repays his faith.

Sanchez is included in Udinese's match squad, so its possible he could make an appearance at some stage:

Thats a good way of looking at it, I suppose. If we're gonna beat them we're gonna beat them at their best (although Sanchez may not be at his best with a muscle strain). This is simply a must win. Three points or no Champions League football for la magica. Forza Forza.

wow, quite the turn around for tonight's match. i couldnt join you guys because i had to pick up my mum's car from the shop. i only saw the 2nd half but i can say that the match was scrappy and some dubious reffing. alot of luck and most of all, a result we needed

Yeah, a desperately messy game but some good balls from the lads to come back and squeak the three points. Juan is struggling - he was in no small way responsible for the goal and looks short on pace and confidence and the two central midfielders are struggling at the moment which doesn't help. Had Sanchez and Inler been playing I don't think we'd have won that one, but we just about deserved it in the end. Great balls from Riise to keep pressing for the winner and Totti played well. Vooch was terribly hot and cold and the swap with Borriello has never looked like it was going to work on any of the occasions Monty's tried it. Rosi and Brighi gave us some nice profondita' and I hope Monty gives Rosi some more chances there - he will make runs in behind in a way none of the other right-sided options will. I'd love to see Monty go with Vooch-Menez-Rosi behind Totti at some stage over the next few games, though - that's when you'd see Menez able to make the most of the kinds of space Rosi opens up.

Juan 5,5: Controlla senza troppa fatica ma si fa ammonire (e squalificare) ingenuamente. Nella ripresa poi sfiora il raddoppio di testa, ma dietro sembra sempre in ritardo. E il gol di Di Natale ne è la dimostrazione.

This I have to agree with. They're more enthusiastic about Pizza and DDR than I was; it would have been nice to have been able to replace Vooch with Menez, too.

Francesco Totti explains why he chipped that penalty. “I wanted to prove I wasn’t finished. This is how Roma answer our critics.”

The captain bagged a brace in the heart-stopping 2-1 victory away to Udinese this evening, putting them within three points of fourth place.

“It was above all important for the three points tonight,” said Totti. “It was a victory against a side that would not give in, but we reacted strongly and it’s crucial for this season.

“Our enthusiasm is sky high and we proved with this result that we are worthy of the Champions League. We’ll fight to the end for this prize.”

He took a gamble when opening the scoring by taking the penalty with a cheeky chip.

“In crucial moments the big players come out. I wanted to prove I wasn’t finished. I can do everything and I’m happy for the entire team, as we always proved we wanted to win.

“Physically I’m in great shape, better than I was when aged 20. I wanted to react to all the criticism I received, as those hurt. This is how champions react. This is how Roma answer our critics.”

Great to see Totti in the kind of form he's in right now. Borriello is just going to have to get used to the view from the bench.

I couldn't say that Juan was definitely to blame for the goal, but he did definitely look a step too slow there.

Udinese broke down because they have had a very finely oiled, precise team mechanism which relies on having the right players in the right positions. Losing Inler loses them control in the middle of the pitch; replacing Sanchez with Denis means at once they've a target man but much, much less mobility and opposition defences have a point of reference to play against. Whenever they lack one of their important players they will struggle disproportionately. It's just about comparable to when we were at our best under Spags: take one piece away and the edifice starts to wobble.

That will give the Avocado some ammunition and thredmund some grief. Fortunately he was off to some old fuckers gathering last night and so didn't have to watch his Roma play without their Vooch.

Who will play alongside Burdisso against Palermo? I hope his brother, but suspect it will be Cassetti with Rosi back at right back and Loria and Guillermo anywhere but at the Olimpico.

Jasusfookin christ man, just finished watching the second-half there now, what an ending. More than our fair share of luck I would suggest, but we were due it and never gave up right to final whistle, all summarized by Totti who was just magnificent throughout. What a bleedin performance.

Vucinic was very poor, you won't get any argument from me on that one, but all players have an off day. He looks a little short of confidence at the moment and the balls not sticking like it normally does, nothing a goal or two wouldn't sort out. De Rossi looks very tired as well and was way below his best. The camera zoomed in for a close up of his face at one point and he looked liked a junkie in withdrawal. Big bags under his eyes. I wonder if everything is alright with him personally.

For their goal, I actually though Burdisso was more at fault than Juan. It was Burdisso who played Udinese onside initially and then he made a weak attempt to challenge for the header when Corradi flicked it nicely into Di Natale's path. Juan may be struggling, but his absence next week will be huge, and I think it will almost certainly be Cassetti at centre-half ahead of either Loria or Guillermo. I think we'd even seen Riise in the middle rather than either of those two.

Rosi impressed me as well and offered us something different down the wing and i liked his enthusiasm and work-rate. He's a little naive sometimes and makes a few wrong decisions, but nothing that won't be fixed with more match practise. Doni also impressed me as well and pulled out some nice saves. I wonder will people continue to criticise him now?
